Zanchetta Update...

Image
Gustavo Zanchetta — remember him? Zanchetta was an associate of Francis before he was elected Pope in 2013: he was executive undersecretary of the Argentine episcopal conference which was headed by none other than Jorge Bergoglio (Pope Francis) himself. Now he is where he really belongs: behind bars!    Zanchetta was so close to the Pope that he was one of the very first Argentines whom Francis promoted to bishop, on his own initiative, bypassing all canonical procedure, on July 23, 2013, at the head of the diocese of Orán, in the north of the country. On July 29, 2017, Zanchetta suddenly disappeared, without any farewell Mass and without saying goodbye to his priests and faithful. He only made it known, from an unspecified location, that he had health problems that needed urgent care elsewhere and that he had just returned to Rome, where he had placed his mandate back in the hands of Pope Francis. Who very promptly, on August 1, accepted his resignation. Zanchetta was f...

EWTN’s Raymond Arroyo Interviews Archbishop Viganò About McCarrick Report

Image
The interview has been transcribed and is posted in full at the National Catholic Register , this is the text: More than any other person except for Theodore McCarrick himself, Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò is responsible for triggering the 449-page Vatican report released this week that details what other Church leaders knew about the disgraced ex-cardinal’s decades-long pattern of sexual misconduct, and the actions they took or failed to take with respect to what they had learned. As the report itself documents, the archbishop was the first senior Vatican figure to call concretely for action to be undertaken against McCarrick, at a time when Archbishop Viganò was serving as a senior official in the Secretariat of State. Then, after the archbishop was subsequently posted to Washington as the U.S. nuncio from 2011 to 2016, he was again involved with the Vatican’s handling of the McCarrick file. And in August 2018, Archbishop Viganò released his initial 11-page “testimony” regardi...

McCARRICK vs VIGANO

Image
Church Militant have done a superb job in breaking down the McCarrick Report in this presentation: I'm a businessman, nearly 50, I've been in business since the early nineties and I would say I have a fair grasp of how the world works. The old adage "Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely" attributed to English Catholic historian, politician, and writer Sir John Dalberg-Acton, is something I have experienced at very close quarters and on very many occasions, especially among small business owners. There is a huge temptation to cheat. When you gain an advantage - you poke your head above the parapet of normal life and your business achieves even a miniscule modicum of success, there is a common tendency to consider that, rather than the beneficiary of some stroke of chance, or the hard work of a team, you are somehow solely responsible for whatever small degree of success you may be experiencing. I have met literally thousands of business o...

McCarrick Report: Who do they think they are kidding?

Image
The world has been waiting for two years for the answers as to how a Catholic Cardinal was able to use his position & privilege to travel the world, meet international leaders and abuse children and young men, in plain sight of his colleagues. The answer came in a 449 page document issued by the Vatican issued 10th November 2020. You can read the whole thing here . I'm going to give you an abridged version, but first of all I think it's really important to remember a few things. Firstly, let's hear from the man himself. In this speech given at Villanova University in 2013, the then-Cardinal McCarrick openly boasted of his vital influence in the election of Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio as Pope. The fact that McCarrick's support and influence was in Bergoglio's election is a fact which has been confirmed by others: Despite this, you may recall that Pope Francis denied knowing anything about McCarrick back in May 2018 in an interview . In August that year, on a plane a...

Don't Forget Farrell!

Image
George Neumayr, author of The Political Pope and the man who famously confronted a gaggle of American Cardinals in Rome , makes an important point in The American Spectator while commenting on Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò's latest intervention. He reminds us that, although Cardinal Sandri has been chosen by the Pope to be "pilot of the next conclave secundum Franciscum " (a scandalous choice, given he is utterly compromised, having played a role in covering up the monstrous misdeeds of Marcial Maciel, the Legion of Christ founder) Pope Francis has already put another Maciel acoylyte in a position of power and influence for the next conclave: Cardinal Kevin Farrell. Farrell was promoted to camerlengo at the same time that his mentor Theodore McCarrick was defrocked. Farrell, the head of the Vatican’s office of Laity, Life and Family, was consecrated as a bishop by McCarrick in 2001 after McCarrick was installed as Archbishop of Washington. Farrell was a clos...

One Rule For Them...

Image
While George Cardinal Pell is confined to a prison cell, convicted by charges in a case against him which was not and could not be proved beyond a reasonable doubt , the extraordinary case of Bishop Gustavo Zanchetta just gets more incredible. Zanchetta was a close associate of Pope Francis before he was elected Pope in 2013: in fact he was executive undersecretary of the Argentine episcopal conference which, at the time, was headed by none other than Jorge Bergoglio (Pope Francis) himself. Zanchetta was so close to the Pope that he was one of the very first Argentines whom Francis promoted to bishop, on his own initiative and bypassing all canonical procedure, on July 23, 2013. Now under investigation for allegations of abuse, Zanchetta has once again been allowed by a judge to travel to Rome, Crux reports , despite the fact that the Vatican City State and Argentina have no extradition agreement. What is the justification for this? The Vatican has apparently t...

Catholic Church Status Report

Image
I think this interview between Michael Voris & Patrick Coffin is a must watch because it gives a "real" reaction to what is going on in the Church from two people who are "inside" in that they watch and investigate and report on it every day. Some really important insights. I don't think things are this bad here in the UK if I'm honest. I do believe there is a demonic influence in the episcopacy in the US; the degree of abuse, collusion & cover-up that has gone on is more than could be possible under a gang of well-meaning but bungling bishops, there's some darker genius driving it and you can see how it links up. Here I honestly believe it is ineptitude and fear. The bishops are terrified of prosecution by the authorities, they're terrified of the laity and public finding out about the cover-ups that have gone on over the years and they are content to be concerned and preoccupied with their own petty concerns and not to look at the bi...

Francis promotes a pervert - everyone just shrugs

Image
As I reported at the time , one of the stand out moments of the Vatican cringe-a-thon Abuse Summit was a journalist from Crux  (which tends to be more supportive of the Pope and his agenda) asked how can we believe that this is the end of cover-ups, "when at the end of the day, Pope Francis himself covered-up for a Bishop in Argentina who had gay porn on his phone", referring to Argentine Bishop Zanchetta, here's the video: At Presser for Vatican Sexual Abuse Summit #PBC2019 , @inesanma asks how can we believe that this is the end of cover-ups, "when at the end of the day, Pope Francis himself covered-up for a Bishop in Argentina who had gay porn on his phone", referring to Argentine Bishop Zanchetta pic.twitter.com/RN8txTMbTi — Catholic Sat (@CatholicSat) February 24, 2019 The journalist asking the question was Inés San Martín, an Argentinean journalist who covers the Vatican in Rome for Crux . I think her nationality has been the reason for her to be ...

Zanchetta, the gay porn bishop, on "retreat" with Pope

Image
I can't really believe this is even a real thing but perhaps someone can explain how Pope Francis being on retreat with Bishop Zanchetta, his friend, ally & now under investigation for alleged sexual misconduct & having gay porn images on his phone is not a scandal &/or extremely toxic for the Pontiff & the faith?   The Catholic Herald has learned that a bishop currently under investigation for sexual misconduct and financial mismanagement, including claims he had naked selfies and gay pornography on his phone, is on retreat with Pope Francis and other senior members of the Roman Curia. The bishop is Gustavo Zanchetta, emeritus of Orán, Argentina, and currently Assessor to the Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See (APSA) who I first reported on here . Zanchetta was an associate of Francis before he was elected Pope in 2013: he was executive undersecretary of the Argentine episcopal conference which was headed by none other than Jorge Bergo...

Another Cardinal Sentenced

Image
Back in October I drew attention to reports that a French court has ordered Cardinal Philippe Barbarin, the Archbishop of Lyon, to be tried early next year for “failing to denounce a sexually abusive priest”. The report states that the trial, already delayed twice, will now move forward on 7-9th of January despite the Vatican’s “failure to respond to a summons issued to Cardinal Ladaria". Cardinal Luis Ladaria Ferrer was appointed prefect for the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith by Pope Francis after the abrupt dismissal of its previous prefect, Gerhard Ludwig Müller, in 2017. Some commented that this was because Ladaria was "more malleable". Well this week Barbarin was found guilty  (on Thursday) of covering up historic sexual abuse allegations. Barbarin was sentenced to a six-month suspended prison sentence for failing to report between July 2014 and June 2015 the sexual abuse allegations made against a priest from his diocese, Bernard Preynat, in...

Cardinal Müller: Cardinal Pell's Conviction 'Against All Reason and Justice'

Image
Edward Pentin reports that Cardinal Gerhard Müller, prefect emeritus of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith has spoken out regarding Cardinal Pell's conviction saying allegations that led to Pell’s conviction are “absolutely unbelievable” and “without proof,”. Cardinal Müller also said the conviction is “absolutely against all reason and justice” and resembles an understanding of justice going back to the time of King Henry VIII. “Like everyone else, I cannot see the culpability,” Cardinal Müller told the National Catholic Register March 4. As former prefect of the Secretariat for the Economy from 2014 to 2019 and effectively the Vatican’s treasury minister, Cardinal Pell was the third most senior figure in the Vatican. He is the most senior Church figure to have ever been convicted for sexual abuse. “Nobody witnessed it,” Cardinal Müller noted, and said that he could not believe it could happen with “all the other persons” probably present after Mass. The German ca...

Cardinal Pell Update

Image
There's a lot of news surrounding the Cardinal Pell case. I've had a lot of feed back from my post yesterday and I will try and update readers as I find out important news. Journalist Edward Pentin has shared this important video of Cardinal George Pell being interviewed by police before his trial, during which the allegations a jury later found him guilty of are put to him. This should be seen during his appeal hearing if it hasn’t been seen already. The allegations against Cardinal Pell are clearly absurd as this video demonstrates. The Cardinal is clearly absolutely confident that the inherent absurdity will be on display for all to see in court. How then did he come to be convicted? This video exposes Victoria police as having conducted a malicious prosecution against Cardinal Pell, they asked victims to come forward in 2015 . An investigation looking for a crime! *WARNING* Some explicit content — viewer discretion advised. The Daily Mail has an a...
