[42] ὑπόψιον, an object of contempt or hatred, lit. ‘looked at from below,’ i.e. with the feelings intimated by the familiar “ὑπόδρα”. Aph. “ἐπόψιον”, conspicuous, in the sight of all men. For a similar formation cf. 21.397 “πανόψιος”.
