[300] ι<*>χανόωσαν, see note on 17.572. It should be read also in Od. 8.288 for “ἰσχ-”, and may possibly have survived in the “ιχανασθ” of Herondas vii. 26. It is fully recognized by Hesych., Suidas, and Et. May. τόθ᾽ is evidently preferable to “ὅ γ᾽”, which has probably slipped in from the preceding line.
