[515] In 2.517 we find a Phokian Schedios, son of Iphitos, who is slain by Hector in 17.306. Hence acc. to Schol. T some read “Ἀθηναίων” here for Φωκ́ηων. But the names of subordinate personages are to all appearance quite arbitrary, and these trifling discrepancies hardly need notice. If the point be pressed, there is no difficulty in supposing that there may have been two Phokian leaders named Schedios.
