[442] We can hardly say exactly what κιν́ησας κάρη implies, whether indignation or pity; cf. 200. In each case both feelings are mingled in the following speech. But in Od. 17.465 “ἀκέων κίνησε κάρη κακὰ βυσσοδομεύων” it appears to be a sign of anger. It may indicate no more than profound thought, as with Lord Burleigh.
