[257] For the construction “πυθέσθαι τινος” for “περί τινος” (lit. ‘if they were to hear all this about you fighting’) cf. Od. 11.505 “Πηλῆος ἀμύμονος οὔτι πέπυσμαι,” 15.224, etc.; so Od. 11.174 “εἰπεῖν τινος,” 4.357 “ὡς γνῶ χωομένοιο”: cf. H. G. § 151 d.
