[611] καθεύδω occurs only here in See Il. note on 2.2. 609-11 look very much like a rhapsodist's tag for the purpose of winding up A in recitation. Note the rare neglect of “ϝ” in (“ϝ”)“όν” in 609 (“ἐς ϝὸν” Brandreth, “ἐπ᾽ ἐϝὸν” Bekker). 2.1 follows 608 quite naturally.
