I've
been really enjoying the TV shows about genealogy—even though some
are like giant ads for Ancestry-dot-com—but the most important
family history is the stuff that is close and personal. Interview
your parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts, great uncles and aunts.
Get all those old family stories. Write them down! Share photos,
scrapbook memorabilia, dig out family-favorite recipes—maybe even
