So it goes, the Combat Patrol. How I took 5th.

Saturday Night I signed up for the Combat Patrol and was excited to play, it would be my only game of 40k this year at Adepticon, which was fine with me as I had plenty of other things to do this year. It was a welcome break from other things, and all the matches I had were pleasant, including one which took me by surprise. However everything was not hunky-dory this time either, but at least I did not feel cheated by the tournament runners and I left with a good feeling. Not only from how I played but the compliment I got on my DKK and the pictures some fellow gamers took of them!

My list was as follows:
Troop 1: Vet Sqaud, 3x Plasmagun, Chimera
Troop 2: Vet Squad, 3x Grenade Launcher, Missile Launcher
Fast 1: Scout Sentinel, Autocannon
Fast 2: Scout Sentinel, Autocannon

Outflanking And You: An Imperial Guard Guidebook and Lists

Hello again, today I am going to talk a bit about alternate tactics for Imperial guard. In particular I am going to talk about an all reserves list(s) that I recently created for OST.
As some of you might know OST recently had a HUGE amount of IG fall into his lap, as such he was wondering a few things about them, and as we talked over the phone I and he told me some of the special characters he had my mind lit up with possibilities of fun, and potentially devastating lists. So I wrote up a couple for him and today I am going to go over them and perhaps talk about some alternate units to take instead of what he has, keep in mind the list was build off the general idea of what units he had available from his purchase plus some Vendettas and Valkyries.

Sentinels might have skimpy legs... but damn can they still kick some butt

It has been awhile since I have covered any of the other units that the Imperial Guard has in their repertoire. So I decided to cover something that as of late, perhaps in some circles has either been underused, or under appreciated.

The Scout Sentinel

When the codex was first released much ado was given over the Armored Sentinel and the Scout Sentinel, the armored for its armor 12 front, and how that would affect it in close combat as well as shooting, and the Scout Sentinel for its low, low points cost.

Hmmm that guy never gets the credit.

So lately with my list building I have been trying to figure out what parts of my list to refine and narrow it down, and perhaps struggle with what to experiment with. As I did that I realized something important about my list, something I really overlooked until a recent discussion with a couple locals.
