Tau vs Orks 1850 Battle Report

1850pt Tau vs Ork Battle Report

By Chris Vinton

This week I ran my tau against orks.  I'll admit the prospect of running against a close combat army seemed a sure bet for the tau, but with Matt's mech Orks I really had my doubts.  3 AV 14 battle wagons really pushed the weakness of my list.  The sept was really in for a rough match with the marked lack of armor punch; this was a true test to my theory that my Riptides are enough to handle AV 14...

Showcase: KrautScientist's Orkheim Ultraz

Hey everyone, KrautScientist here, with another post showcasing one of my hobby projects. And while I realise that today’s post doesn’t deal with dark future gaming so much, please bear with me: With GW officially pulling the plug on the Specialist systems, I believe we can all use some specialist love... *ahem*, that came out sounding funny… Anyway, what is this about?

Orks in 6th Edition: Da Times they are a' Changin'

Hello Everyone,

General Chaos here with the State of the Waaagh! address. Assaults are dead! Well lets back that up, they are not dead but they took a big kick in the tail end for us Ork players. Multi-Assaults suffer losing that extra attack, getting Bolter shells in the face from overwatch can really hurt in assaults, and without some very specific movement and placement losing that all important Power Klaw Nob can be devastating. Makes me want to take my Choppa and go home. But us Orks are good at one thing besides Krumpin' ead' and that is we can adapt.

6th Edition Video Battle Report - Orks vs. Space Wolves

Hello Everyone,

General Chaos here with another Video Battle Report. This was a 1500 point battle between my Orks and Jon's Space Wolves. This was my first game using the 6th edition rule set so if we get somethings wrong I apologize in advance. Jon took his standard Wolves list while I took a little bit of everything to test out the new rules. Hope you enjoy it and thanks for watching.

Da' Dakkajet

Hello Everyone,

General Chaos here with my latest painting update. I present to you my Evil Sunz Dakkajet. Man, was this model was a joy to build and paint. I love the look and design of the kit. It appears to be based off the Russian MiG 15. The model has quite a bit of customization, besides the three build types (Dakkajet, Burna Bommber, Blitz Bomber) . You can build the wings in a swept up or a swept down configuration by added another piece to the wings and the tail section can be build in three different locations. There are quite a few areas you can mount the Supa-shootas, even a couple I never thought of after seeing some other peoples Jets. Also there's a couple new pilot heads that will make there way into my Stormboyz bitz box :)

I went with the swept up look. I also magnetized the guns and bomb mounts on underside of the wing so I can build the other configuration as well, I don't care what the internet says I love the Orky goodness of the Blitz Bommer! With all the rumors in the white dwarf it looks like fliers will be a interesting part in the "New" 40k universe and am looking forward to it.

Video Battle Report - Mek'inized Orks vs. Dark Eldar

Hello Everyone,

General Chaos here with another Video Battle Report. This was 1500 point game between my Mek'nizied Orks vs. Jon's Dark Eldar. Jon is still learning how to play his (actually they are his wifes') army so he wanted me to bring a list I would play at a tournament. We played one of the mission from the tournament I held last weekend. It was pretty one sided with few bad dice on his end. Like Lelith getting tank shocked and running off the board. But, I think he learned a bit about his army and made some changes. Because he did fairly decent with them at the tournament going 2-1. Enjoy and thanks for watching.

Death Star Update.... no more orks...

So with great sadness I have to report my orks will not be making their appearance in the team tournament as planned. Unfortunately I had to move for a new job and both things combined meant that I was not getting things done in time.

Fear not however, for there still shall be an appearance by the mighty Lord Solar Steve and the rest of the team. Instead I am playing a guard list that is very death starry... in fact I believe I am fielding the main gun from the Death Star...

That's right... I am fielding the magnificent Deathstrike Missile Launcher... protected by 3 Leman Russ Executioners with side sponson plasma cannons... Here is the full list just for kicks... it might change up a bit but so far this seems like the best options for most fun.

Heavy 1
Leman Russ Executioner + S.S. Plasma Cannons x3

Heavy 2
Deathstrike Missile Launcher

Troop
Vet. Squad w/plasma gun & Lascannon

HQ
Techpriest Enginseer

That's it... 4 kill-points of awesome...

Oh and just to let my opponents in on a great secret... so maybe you'll let me shoot the Deathstrike Missile Launcher... Every time It goes off... I am taking a shot... so.... fun times!!!!!!

Cannot wait to see everyone again this year and enjoy ourselves!

Until next time, burn some heretics, kill some mutants, and do it always....

And so it begins.... Lord Solar Whips his Nobz Back and Forth!

So as I stated awhile back, I was buying parts for a new army for the Team Tournament at Adepticon. As also stated, it would be orky.... and so it is, I have decided to run my Death Star as the most ill fated and hated of the ork death stars.... the Nob Biker squad... I do not have the details of the list completely hammered out just yet, however that does not mean I could not be working on the models themselves.

Over the past few weeks the DFG crew as well as other local gamers have been heading up to our FLGS and painting and assembling our armies on Wednesday nights. The result of this has been a big inspiration for myself to get to work on my list and the models I need to complete it. So far I have 3 Nob Bikers down.

Da Kabal Of Da Big Teef: My New Ork Project

Well I posted this latest project on Craftworld Lansing about a week ago, so I thought I would share it with the DFG readership. I am an Eldar fanatic. I have grown lax in my hobby as of late sadly. You can only build and paint so much Eldar before it becomes boring.

So I started an Ork Army. I call it “Da Kabal Of Da Big Teef”. Orks can loot anything so why not a bunch of Dark Eldar vehicles. BigMek Uzgrub “Urkon” Bigtoof was so impressed by how killy the pointy eared gits invading his base camp were he set a cunnin trap to catch them and liberate their dead killy weapons and vehicles.

So here is my first conversion for the army. This truk Was made using an old Dark Eldar Raider as a base. I had an unassembled truk kit around and some bits and gubbins from a battle wagon I recently acquired. I am a car guy so I had to make the drive Train logical, I know weird on an orky creation.

Although its a Truk its about the length of a battle wagon although not as wide. I am still deciding on a color scheme. Since the army is made of up Death Skull and Snakebite elements its probably going to be blue and red. Cuz da red uns go fasta!  I have some gap filling to do and then some painting.  I plan on putting some boyz on the side hanging off like the warriors on the new Raiders.

I will post More as I complete models. The next truk is going to be “flying” . It will involve def koptas and is inspired by the Osprey tilt rotor aircraft.

Until next time.................

The Beginning of the end of the beginning.... A new army on the horizon

As every hobbiest knows, at some point during their time playing the game, they become unhappy with how things currently are happening, on how their army performs, or how their color scheme is coming together.

Personally… I have none of these problems, I love my Imperial Guard. I love the models I use (mmmm D.K.K.), I love the multiple ways my army can be played, and almost every game I play I perform well, and win a good chunk, far far more than I lose, and I absolutely LOVE my dirty, grimy mud filled look my army has, no matter what others think or say about it (and thank you to those who appreciate it, and ask questions about it).

It Came From The Forums: Kaptin Hortwork's Freebootaz!

With all the extra fun of local tourneys and big GTs in a lul for the moment, it is time to catch our breath and take a moment for one of our favorite series here: It Came From The Forums. I have had Orks on the brain lately, so it is only natural that I bust out one of my favorite project logs from Warseer: Kaptin Hortwork's Freebootaz - which is a log of freeboota and Kreig style Orks designed and painted by well-known artist Hortwerth. Let's take a look.
