Indiana State Chapionship Round Up

by Chris Vinton

My theory of people that go to tournaments get better at tournaments (yes, its obvious but really think about it) was reinforced this weekend.  Jesse Z and I packed up the diesel jetta and made the trek down to Lafayette Indiana for the first state championship.  Despite the field being very small, there was some very stiff competition.

MiGT Battle Report; Ken Brunner Part 3

Coming in today with part 3 of 4th place and Best Xenos General, Ken Brunner's Chrayons battle report!

We're half-way through Day 1, and so far I'm sitting pretty with full points and a share of first place. However, I've had plenty of good fortune in securing two very favorable match-ups. Will my luck continue, or will it run dry? On the surface, my Round 3 opponent would seem to have all of the tools to deal with my army. Solid anti-air, anti-Typhus missiles, dakka out the wazoo to deal with Wraiths, Torrent weapons for flaming Zombies, MC Force Weapon SMASH.. Grey Knights may not be the terror they once were near the end of 5th edition, but this match could definitely prove to be my undoing.

MiGT Battle Report; Ken Brunner Part 1

Here is a battle report that is currently running on Dakkadakka.  This is from 4th place finisher and Best Xenos General, Ken Brunner. We'll update this as he does (with his permission of course; no plagiarism on this blog!)

2013 Indiana 40k Championship

For the MiGT we used Torrent of Fire.  On that I saw an upcoming GT in Indiana that I plan on attending.  I wanted to give it a quick shout out because I don't think a lot of people have heard of it in the Michigan area.  Let go down and take their trophy, boyz!

MiGT: Flymolo's Day 2 Report

Ho!
Day one is over and I'm sitting like a ballerina at two-two. See what I did there? Tutu? Two-two? Two and two? 2-2... yep.

MiGT Best General: Jesse Zischke's Grey Knights

So I showed up to the inaugural Michigan GT with my Grey Knights and a dream and ended up coming away with the best general award.  In a sea of Tau and Eldar builds the Knights needed to represent for the imperium.  Here's the list:

MiGT: Behind the Curtain Data

I'm still working on getting some lists.  One of the organizers tossed them before I could get my grubby tabloid hands on them.  Hopefully I can make some magic happen for the top lists.

In the mean time, here is some data sheets.  Happy analyzing!

GT Report - 2

Ho!
Two games are behind me and I'm sitting right in the middle of the pack with 26 battle points. After a crushing loss in game one and a solid win in game two, I figure there's still hope in finishing high if I manage to continue my, er, one game winning streak. :) Think positive.

Fly Molo Goes to a GT!

Ho!
I have risen. Like the phoenix. From the ashes. My "three things" post has been ringing extremely true over the past 3 months or so and I have been distanced from our beloved hobby...
Between buying a "fixer-upper" of a house, attempting to sell my current house, work increasing some demands on me, home schooling our children and attempting to be a good husband, Warhammer has hit the back burner.
But it burns. Slowly, it burns.

MiGT: Photos from Michigan's First GT!

Here is a long long dump of over 100 pictures from the armies at the MiGT.  I'll try to credit them where I remember them, but if I've missed you its because my brain may have been at max capacity over the weekend.  Here we go!

Warning: Very large pic dump after jump!

GT template search

The Michigan GT is into day two and as I walked around I was looking at tools of the trade. I stopped to admire Nick Mills' army and noticed some strange templates.

It Came from the GT!? Incredible Thousand Sons Cavalry!

One of the things I wanted to do when I went to the GT at Dropzone Games (and well any event I go to), was to cover some of the great, painted armies that people brought to the event. There were several great armies on hand (and the Best Painted will get a post of its own soon), but Dameon Green's army from Khepri's Eternal Legion really blew me away. First off, the display was really nice, but once you look at the army, you start to see some really exciting stuff. Let's take a closer look:

Unification Wars GT: My List and Generalized Performance

So, if you have been following my activities lately, you will know that I attended Dropzone Games' first GT, the Unification Wars, which was a 1999 point event running a mix of book and non-standard missions. The missions were multi-tiered and allowed for more than one way to win any game. The system was a Swiss win/loss with a 2.5 hour round limit and when "dice down" is called, dice go down. I initially wanted to run a Nemesor/ Obyron list with some clever tricks, but after thinking about how I haven't had a ton of experience with the list, I opted to go with something a little more familiar to me. That being said, I ran my Bargecrons with air and assault elements. Here is the list and my thoughts on the performance:

Dropzone Games Unification Wars GT Day 1

Well, I brought the crons out today and went 2-1 against some great opponents! We played without the new daemon book today, but it didn't get me down. I win against grey knights, lost to CSM with Guard and won against a Typhus, flamer screamer daemon list. Here is a peek at what I ran and the action. Expect to seeing more, but for now: beer and sleep!
