Foetid Bloat Drone Maggoth Conversion II (Even Nurglier than the first)

It always comes back to Nurgle, right? My love of Nurgle models goes waaaaaaay back to the earliest days of the hobby for me with Epic Mortarion, original Plaguebearers and the Realm of Chaos. In the theme of unchained, silly monsters, I offer my second Foetid Bloat Drone conversion.

A Typhus Conversion and Dreadnought step forward for Helloween 2017

TJ here to rock some simple starter kit conversions for my Death Guard. Now DG are not a priority army for me right now. I have my Alpha Legion and World Eaters taking most of my attention at the moment. This means that any DG I make are going to come from kits I already own or from the seven, YES seven! Dark Imperium Nurgle sets I have been gifted or discount sold by my friends.

First off is Typhus. Yes, I know, he is another conversion based on the Lord of Contagion, but it's what I have to work with. Hopefully, I have made him unique enought with the addition of some Destroyer Hive flies thanks to the Maggoth kit and a scyth also from the same kit.

Maggoth Foetid Bloat Drone Conversion! Helloween 2017

TJ here with my late entries to the DFG tradition of Helloween! I always create or paint horrific models around this time of year and share them here in celebration of Halloween! Today we will look at one of the few Foetid Bloat Drones I converted with the Maggoth kit! Let's check this gasbag out!

60 Poxwalkers done in a week!

I have been busy all this week painting Poxwalkers for the Konor Campaign (every little bit counts). I have finished off 60 of them this week, bringing my total of painted poxwalkers to 90 ... meaning 40 more to go.

I will be taking a break from them for now though so I can get some Bloat Drones painted, more bloat drones converted and painted and I want to get my new Typhus conversion painted too. Let's take a look at the poxwalkers and how I split the squads.

It Came From the Forums Quickie: 40k Maggoth Maulerfiend Conversions from Lagrath!

TJ here with an It Came From the Forums quickie to show off some kitbashes brought to my attention by a reader and artist know as Lagrath at Bolter and Chainsword. We have talked previously about how these kits could theoretically make awesome models together, but he went and did it. He is the creator of an awesome pair of Maulerfiends that have been bashed with the Maggoth and also at the start of an incredible Nurgle project.

Let's take a look ...

New Nurgle, pt. 2 -- a hands on with the new Putrid Blightkings

Hey everyone, KrautScientist here. In the last post published here on DFG, TJ already talked about the possible conversion potential of the new Putrid Blightkings. And now that the kit has been with us for a while, allow me to talk in more detail about my own experience with these guys. Step this way to learn more.

Breaking the Established Norms, Your Take!

TJ here to talk about how we build and paint our armies to either fit the established background of our games or how we break with those traditions and why. For myself, I have always ridden the fence on the subject because I am an avid fan of the Black Library and to date have read all of the Horus Heresy novels and several omnibuses from the current millennia. When I start a project the background is always right there in my face and I am always tempted to satisfy that itch of making a conversion and paintjob that satisfies that background, however, sometimes I feel like I am painting myself into a corner in more ways than one.

Product Review: Plague Marine Alternative Legs from Kromlech's Morbid Legionaire bits!

TJ here to talk about some great alternative Plague Marine (or Possessed) legs that I picked up from Kromlech.eu. These legs come in a 6 pack (two pairs of three) and cost about $10 US. They are very detailed and in fact, I would say that these are the legs Forge World should have produced when they made their plague Marine conversion kit. There are open sores, rent armor, worms and many more small details that make for an excellent set of legs for anybody looking to make legs for Plague Marines or Possessed. I would even stretch to say you could make some zombie themed Legion of the Damned with them too (oh, now there is a hilarious idea!). Anyway, I have prepared some pics below to help you get a full visual of each set of legs in the kit.

Building Great Plague Marines from Dark Vengeance Chosen!

TJ here and tonight I want to talk about converting those Dark Vengeance Chosen that you swore you would do something with into something actually useful for your Chaos army and, since we have been talking about building a better Plague Marine lately, I want to make some Plague Marines out of my Dark Vengeance Chaos Marines. I puposefully stuck to a minimum of 3rd party bits and Green Stuff work because I wanted to show you how easy this can be and encourage a little bit of conversion out there, since I know everybody and their mother have these models on their shelf somewhere. Let's take a look at the squad I made.

Building a Better Plague Marine Product Review: Kromlech's Morbid Legionaries Shoulder Pads!

TJ here with a review of Kromlech's Morbid Legionaries shoulder pads. I am sorry but for some reason Blogger won't let me rotate the photos, but in any case, I want to take a good look at these things with you before I add them to my next conversions.

Building a Better Plague Marine Part II: Spellcrow Miniatures

TJ here to continue my series on Building Better Chaos Marines with 3rd party bits. A reader pointed me toward Spellcrow, which is a company that produces a number of minis, including a line of bits for Plague Legions, which includes everything from arms to heads to weapons and more. Let's take a look at this bits.

Painted Plague Bearers on Maggot Bases!

TJ here with a little side project I worked on while I waited for washes to dry ect on the tentacle monster I finished recently. The Plastic plague bearer kit is one I have been meaning to work with for some time and I managed to pick some up with a little tournament prize support a few months ago. The kit is awesome and even though the models are built, you will find some nasty conversions down the road from me thanks to the kit, but that is another story, we are here today to talk about the naked, little, fat, rotten guys and the worms they stand upon!

More Obliterator and Chaos Lord/ Terminator Alternatives from Hi Tech!

TJ here with a quick post about some more awesome alternative minis I plan to order now that they are out (and I am temporarily back in America). Of course I am talking about the latest set of Terrorizers from Hi Tech Miniatures!
http://hitechminiatures.com/2/product/product/

These are similar to the set I already own that came out last year from the company. These are awesome and highly detailed and would make great oblits nurgle or otherwise. Don't listen to me though, take a look!

Get Your Stuff Painted!

Ho,

Fly Molo back again with a painting article. And I do love painting. Actually, more accurately, I like having painted models. I assume you do too!
Yet, think back,... out of the last 20 or so games you've played, how many times have you used a completely painted army? How many times have your opponent?
Why is that?

Perfect Death Guard Terminator Leg Alternatives from Kromlech

In the past, we have seen some great stuff from Kromlech including a set of legs that would be great for Plague Marines. Today, I am helping get the word out and adding to my Building a Better Chaos Marine series with these legs.

Conversion Showcase: Hail Typhus, Zombie Overlord!

TJ here to show off my latest work on my Chaos Marines. With the Zombies done and posted earlier this week, I decided to get my Typhus conversion painted and ready to go. Now, this is the version of Typhus that I converted specifically for games that I run my Necron allies. I call him Canoptek Overlord Typhus, hahaha. All joking aside, I had a lot of fun painting and converting this model and I took a ton of photos, so let's take a look at this fat fellow:

A Wave of Zombies is Approaching!

TJ here with a huge wave of Mantic Zombies I am using in my Chaos army and when I run my Chaos and Necron allies for recent tournaments. These Mantic Zombies really lend themselves to being painted well and I really like the way the came . I also have a few with GW parts and a couple of Crypt ls bashed into Mantic Zombie legs. Lets take a look at a few more photos.
