TJ AKA Old School Terminator (I love dropping names I haven't used since 2012) here to talk about converting Dreadclaws for your Chaos or you 30k army using just a single drop pod kit (technically less than the whole kit). I really dig the fact that using units like the Dreadclaw is becoming more widely accepted. Playing with these units shouldn't break a player's budget and it also shouldn't force them to resort to using the dreaded Pepsi Bottle Proxy. I want to revisit this tutorial, brush up the explanations and help distribute it to a whole other generation of players. Let's take a look.

Tutorial: Speed Painting Daemons For Quality Part 3
TJ here to continue and finish this three part series on Speed Painitng for Quality. Part 1 debuted on Dec. 8, Part 2 on Dec. 10. I am currently at sea on a Naval vessel and scheduled this a lon ime ago, so I cannot link those right now, so if you are interested in them, dig them up. The intention is to help people who have some dusty, unpainted daemons on the shelf - get them painted. I painted 40 models in 8 hours to better than the average tabletop standard and this post is where that all comes together, so let's get to it:

Tutorial: Speed Painting Daemons for Quality Part 2
TJ here with Tutorial number 2 for Speedpainting Daemons for a quality finish, unlike stereotypical speedpainting, which usually looks terrible. I recenlty painted up 20 horrors and 20 plague bearers in 8 hours, roughly 2 hours per squad (though I painted them all at once) and wanted to share the method with everyone, so, if you missed the first part of the tutorial, it published on December 8th (I cannot link it bacause I am at sea and this is a scheduled post), but for those who already read it, let's dive right in.

Tutorial: Speed Painting Daemons for Quality Part 1
TJ here with a tutorial that is geared toward not just Speedpainting Daemons (or anything else really fleshy), but speedpainting for quality. A lot of people see speedpainting and immediately just think "Crap" but it doesn't have to be that way. Recently, I painted up 40 daemons (20 plague bearers and 20 Horrors) and I did it all at once and it took 8 hours total. I paint for two hours a night, so it really took me less than a work week and less than i usually spend on a deamon prince, but the look is above what many call a table top standard and fits in nicely with my army on the whole, so let's take a look:

Turning a Toy into a 40k Model Part 2: Soul Grinder from Hell!
TJ back again to talk about turning a toy into a 40k model with my Todd McFarlane Spawn/ Soul Grinder mash-up! I'm going to pick right up from the last article where we finished by fixing the toy's pose with glue, so let's get right to it.

Turning a Toy Into a 40k Model Part 1 - Todd McFarlane Made my Soulgrinder!
TJ here to talk about turning a toy (or in this case an action figure) into a 40k model. We established what I (and many readers agree) are the rules for toys on the table in THIS post. I have a toy I want to turn into a 40k model and I imagine many of us nerds also have some cool stuff laying around that they could convert as well, so I want to document this and explain things as I go for anyone else who wants to do something similar. Let's take a trip to the toy store:

Quick Tutorial: Sculpting Sockets/ Ports in flesh with Green Stuff
SO I have gotten a few e-mails concerning how to make sockets in flesh like I did with the Minotuar Daemon Prince above. First off, the method is one that I read about on Dave Taylor's blog and the post with the mini-tutorial can be found here. Anyway, I managed to pull it off quickly and easily, so I figured I would share a quick tutorial!

From Chuck's Desk: Easy Yellow Tutorial
Hello everyone after my last post Nathan Watt from Nathan's Fiction Sphere asked me to take a look at some models he had recently worked on. Nathan was trying to tackle the color yellow which for a lot of painters including myself was always a serious pain. A little while ago I was working on these Malifaux minis and discovered a quick effective way to paint rich looking yellows. I explained the method to Nathan last night but pictures always help so here are some pics of the finished product and some simple directions on how its done.

Corrupted Flesh Tutorial
Old School here to talk about how I paint corrupted flesh on my Nurgle models, like this big guy in the photo above. The method is really just that ... a process and it can be easily replicated. If you are up for it, let's get started:

A Blog of Note: Drowned in Plastic, Tutorials and Amazing Paint!
Old School here with another installment of Blogs of Note. Every once in a while I find a blog that is so awesome, so great in terms of hobby that it must be recommended to our readers. Drowned in Plastic is a young blog by an experienced player and hobbyist named Brandon Griffith who not only shares his amazing art, but also plenty of tutorials and guides to the kinds of paint he uses. Let's take a look at some of his work.

How to Paint Yellow Necrons: Part 2
Old School here with the second half of the How to Paint Yellow Necrons Tutorial. As I mentioned in Part 1, this paint scheme isn't designed to get you Golden Daemon results. This tutorial is designed to show you how to make an eye catching paint scheme that will look good on the table top and won't take you forever to pull off. Also, yellow is just a sexy color to work with!

How to Paint Yellow Necrons: Part 1
Old School here with a response to the several e-mails I have received requesting a how to article on how I painted the Yellow Necrons. I will tell you that I picked them up to be an easy summer paintjob. That being said, I wanted to be able to paint whole squads in a couple hours and still maintain a striking look that drew people to them. Are they Golden Daemon Quality? Oh Hell NO! Do they have a look that betrays the simplicity of their scheme, I think so. So let's take a look.

Easy Camouflage Patterns with Silly Putty Masking!
Old School here to share a quick tip for those of you who want to use camouflage in your armies. I have struggled with tape and paint-on stuff for some time and never got the actual camo effect I have seen on various vehicles in my military career. I read about using Silly Putty for masking on a WWII forum and decided to give it a try ...

Hobby Tip Video: Pre-Shading with an Airbrush
Hello Everyone,
General Chaos here with a hobby tip video. A friend of mine who plays Blood Angels gave me a bunch of his vehicles to base coat for him. Since they wasn't mine I decided to experiment with them. I seen a couple guides on pre-shading and thought I'd try it out. What's pre-shading? Well, If you ever look at a well worn airplane you'll notice there's weathering around the sheet metal panels that make up the shell. Like this
Well I was toying around with it and thought I'd create a video, after seeing how the Stormraven came out, on a bunch of razorback/rhinos. Hope you enjoy it and thanks for watching.

Maggot Strewn Nurglings in a Day - Pics and Tutorial!
Old School here to show off my Nurglings with full Maggot bases, a sacred seven Nurglings per base and a tutorial on how I painted 21 Nurgling bases in just over six hours! First things first, this project would have never happened without CVinton. We we trading bitz and talking shop one night when the conversation turned to Chaos, sacred numbers and the abundant supply of Nurglings I had just sitting in my bitz box.
Before leaving for the night, CVinton rounded up a number of Nurglings and vanished. Soon my kidnapped babies were the subject of text message slide shows, their bases covered in maggots. Yesterday, I dropped in on CVinton, who like a plaguebearing Santa Claus, gifted me with 21 bases of Nurglings, each with seven per base! I was so stoked, I vowed to paint them that night. Let's look at how I managed to get them done so fast!

Raven Wing Attack Bikes with a twist ...
As I have stated in previous posts, I have started this Death Wing army from my bitz box, using a minimal amount of outside resources to get it off the ground. With that being said, the Attack Bike is not something I have just laying around. Bikes, Multi-meltas and Tomb Kings Chariots, however, I have in the metric ton! Lets take a look at what I did.

Terminator Tutorial: Alternative Cyclone Missile Launcher
Old School here and after months of going back and forth with myself, I have decided to restart my Death Wing army. I have had a lot of fun putting it together recently and the first joy I wanted to share with you was my alternative Cyclone Missile Launcher and installing it.

Combi-Melta Conversion Video by CVinton
Old School here posting this video for CVinton. In the video, he basically uses his dremel as a lathe. The first time I saw him do this, it really blew my mind, so I asked him to post this. We had some serious issues with Youtube, so the video is a little wide in the column, but I think you can get over it once you see it, I did. Feedback as always is welcome!
