MiGT Battle Report; Ken Brunner Part 4
Coming in with part 4 of Ken Brunners battle report from the Michigan GT.
Here we go, Round 4! It's another doozy of a list. Predictions? I'm thinking this is gonna be tough. I've got a better chance at The Relic than he does.. I think. BUT, his guns all out-range me by a LOT. And to make matters worse, it's on Hammer and Anvil deployment. I'm not sure my army will hold up before I can even get in range to shoot him! And that evil Dark Reaper squad of his manning the Icarus can easily gun down a Night Scythe a turn. The same Night Scythes which represent my only real chance to win the game. :( We'll see..

MiGT Battle Report; Ken Brunner Part 3
Coming in today with part 3 of 4th place and Best Xenos General, Ken Brunner's Chrayons battle report!
We're half-way through Day 1, and so far I'm sitting pretty with full points and a share of first place. However, I've had plenty of good fortune in securing two very favorable match-ups. Will my luck continue, or will it run dry? On the surface, my Round 3 opponent would seem to have all of the tools to deal with my army. Solid anti-air, anti-Typhus missiles, dakka out the wazoo to deal with Wraiths, Torrent weapons for flaming Zombies, MC Force Weapon SMASH.. Grey Knights may not be the terror they once were near the end of 5th edition, but this match could definitely prove to be my undoing.

The Long View
Ho!
Fly Molo is, I dare say, back. I should be back to my one post every other day or so clip that I was getting accustomed to before all heck broke loose all over my life... but I wouldn't have it any other way.
Today I'm writing about the "Long View" and keeping my eyes on the proverbial prize.

MiGT: Flymolo's Day 2 Report
Ho!
Day one is over and I'm sitting like a ballerina at two-two. See what I did there? Tutu? Two-two? Two and two? 2-2... yep.

MiGT Best General: Jesse Zischke's Grey Knights
So I showed up to the inaugural Michigan GT with my Grey Knights and a dream and ended up coming away with the best general award. In a sea of Tau and Eldar builds the Knights needed to represent for the imperium. Here's the list:

MiGT: Behind the Curtain Data
I'm still working on getting some lists. One of the organizers tossed them before I could get my grubby tabloid hands on them. Hopefully I can make some magic happen for the top lists.
In the mean time, here is some data sheets. Happy analyzing!

GT Report - 2
Two games are behind me and I'm sitting right in the middle of the pack with 26 battle points. After a crushing loss in game one and a solid win in game two, I figure there's still hope in finishing high if I manage to continue my, er, one game winning streak. :) Think positive.
MiGT: Best Painted Winner, Marcus Baxley Plus Runners up
This years best painted winner went to Marcus Baxley. His Ork army was an obvious labor of love (as most ork armies are!). The competition was thick at the GT for best painted and it was a hard choice to make but this army definitely deserves its crown. Hopefully these pictures will show you why!

Fly Molo Goes to a GT!
Ho!
I have risen. Like the phoenix. From the ashes. My "three things" post has been ringing extremely true over the past 3 months or so and I have been distanced from our beloved hobby...
Between buying a "fixer-upper" of a house, attempting to sell my current house, work increasing some demands on me, home schooling our children and attempting to be a good husband, Warhammer has hit the back burner.
But it burns. Slowly, it burns.

MiGT: Charity Army Success!
A quick kudos should be given to Mike for putting togheter the charity raffle that was featured at the MiGT. This raffle raised over 500$ for the Allen Neighborhood Center in Lansing Mi. Their site can be found here. This community center truely does great work around the east side of Lansing and I was very happy to see them be the benifactors of this charitable event. The Warhammer community really opened their wallets. We had almost an average of 10$ per person for this which might not sound like a lot but, we were very pleased for so much support from a relatively small event.

Donation Army Update
Of, relating to, or derived from living matter.
Ho,
Fly Molo back again with an update. That first line is the definition of "organic," and it is important to this project. This project is now organic. It has faces, a name, parts and it is truly living matter. I set out with a plan and I am now watching that plan change and grow... and that's okay! Its like planting vines next to a trellis: I can lay the framework on where I want the vines to go, but if they don't cooperate, then they don't. And that's okay.

An Open Letter
To Whom It May Concern,
This is Mike Loniewski with Dark Future Gaming, a mid-Michigan Warhammer blog. I’m writing you today in hopes that you can help us with a project. We are attempting to make the world a slightly better place by donating money to a local non-profit called the Allen Neighborhood Center. It is a group run by a gal named Joan Nelson that sets up community gardens, runs farmer’s markets, provides base-level food assistance to local residents and generally does GOOD in the world. They are set up on the east side of Lansing and have been doing great things with very limited resources for our community. They have been in the local news recently because they are attempting to make an indoor full-time farmer’s market to provide local organic food to their city residents who typically don’t have access to healthy food. You can read more about them at http://allenneighborhoodcenter.org/. Their site has their annual reports listed there also, in case you wish to learn more about their situation.

A Gift - 2
Ho,
Fly Molo back with an update.
After much contemplation and consideration, I have decided on the theme and format of this donation.
I am assembling a 1850 point Chaos Space Marines / Chaos Daemons army to be raffled off at the Michigan Grand Tournament in Lansing coming up on September 29th. I plan on making the army list and soliciting realtors and other gamers for the exact models. I will assemble and paint the army and I will sell raffle tickets at $2 a piece online and during the event. I'll draw a single winner from all of the tickets.
