Simple Tzaangor Conversions from Acolytes of Tzeentch

One of the best bangs for your buck when getting into either Thousand Sons or Disciples of Tzeentch is to pick up the Changecult box. In either game, Acolytes are pretty worthless, so let's make them into Tzaangor with a super easy conversion.

Building a better Chaos Marine Tank! Vehicle Upgrades Done Right by The Dark Works!

For years, I have wished somebody would make good Chaos gear for Rhinos, Predators, Land Raiders and well everything. Somebody finally made them!

I think the "Just add spikes" approach is lazy. Forge World once had the extra armor kits, but seems to have gotten out of the 40k traitor business, which is a shame.

Nowadays, what's a heretic astartes to do? I know: call the Dark Works and check out their stuff ...

Product Review: Plague Marine Alternative Legs from Kromlech's Morbid Legionaire bits!

TJ here to talk about some great alternative Plague Marine (or Possessed) legs that I picked up from Kromlech.eu. These legs come in a 6 pack (two pairs of three) and cost about $10 US. They are very detailed and in fact, I would say that these are the legs Forge World should have produced when they made their plague Marine conversion kit. There are open sores, rent armor, worms and many more small details that make for an excellent set of legs for anybody looking to make legs for Plague Marines or Possessed. I would even stretch to say you could make some zombie themed Legion of the Damned with them too (oh, now there is a hilarious idea!). Anyway, I have prepared some pics below to help you get a full visual of each set of legs in the kit.

Building Great Plague Marines from Dark Vengeance Chosen!

TJ here and tonight I want to talk about converting those Dark Vengeance Chosen that you swore you would do something with into something actually useful for your Chaos army and, since we have been talking about building a better Plague Marine lately, I want to make some Plague Marines out of my Dark Vengeance Chaos Marines. I puposefully stuck to a minimum of 3rd party bits and Green Stuff work because I wanted to show you how easy this can be and encourage a little bit of conversion out there, since I know everybody and their mother have these models on their shelf somewhere. Let's take a look at the squad I made.

Building a Better Plague Marine Product Review: Kromlech's Morbid Legionaries Shoulder Pads!

TJ here with a review of Kromlech's Morbid Legionaries shoulder pads. I am sorry but for some reason Blogger won't let me rotate the photos, but in any case, I want to take a good look at these things with you before I add them to my next conversions.

Building a Better Heldrake Part 5: The Final Product!

Old School here with a fully painted Heldrake Conversion for your viewing pleasure. This project has been a hell of a lot of fun and is probably my favorite model that I have painted yet. The way it looks on the table is outstanding and I can't wait to put some more word bearers and even some daemons on the field with it. Let's take a look at how it turned out.

Building a Better Heldrake Part 4: More Painting Progress

Old School here with another update on the Building a Better Heldrake Project. Today we look at last night's progress. Basically, the readers digest version is that I painted the first layer of paint for the bones and the trim around the armor. For those of you who want to read more, let's take a look.

Building a Better Heldrake Part 3: Giving Flesh to My Nightmare!

Old School here with an update on my Building A Better Heldrake project. This bad boy is about half way painted in the Word Bearers theme I plan to use and should be done before the weekend, but let's not bump our gums too much, let's take a walk around this model!

Building a Better Heldrake - KrautScientist's Take

Hey everyone, KrautScientist here. Today I would like to add my own two cents to the discussion about building a flyer for your Chaos Space Marine army. OST already outlined two fantastic ways to go about this task, showcasing both his amazingly disturbing "Hellworm" as well as his very cleverly kitbashed Nurglite Heldrake conversion. But what about those of us sworn to another chaos god? And is it even possible to use the actual Heldrake kit to make something cool? I would like to show you my approach to answering those questions.

Building a Better Heldrake Part 2: Using the Tentacle Maker

Conversions are what happens when ideas meet plastic. Old School here to get into the second part of Building a Better Heldrake. This time, I want to show you how to crank this conversion into overdrive using a simple tool and some Green Stuff before I move onto the sculpting.

Building a Better Heldrake: Chaos Marine Heldrake Conversion Part 1!

I'm the type of guy who seldom complains about something when it comes to models. I prefer to roll up my sleeves and get to work. Old School here and that's exactly what I did to make my own Heldrake. First, I traded the Heldrake I won in the Spikey Bits Chaos Space Marine Contest to a friend for the Terrorgheist and kept the flight stand from the drake, then I took several parts from the Forgefiend/ Maulerfiend kit (which I also won) and got to work. Let's take a look at what I have done so far:

Building A Better Night Lord with Standard and 3rd Party Parts

Old School here with another look at building better Chaos Space Marines. Today's post is a challenge since there aren't a lot of people out there producing things that have the Night Lords feel to them or with the Night Lords in mind. Also, the web just isn't filled with Night Lords stuff either. That will hopefully change in the future. Several e-mails have demanded we look at this legion in particular and with it being a favorite among the authors, we will do the best we can ...

Building a Better Iron Warrior with Third Party Bits!

Old School here with more of my "Building a Better Chaos Space Marine series" and while I was just going to do an undivided post, I am coming across more and more great stuff every day and we will actually be looking at building a better Iron Warrior today and we will do so looking at 3rd party bits. I would also like to say, these kits would be great for building pretty much any mech aligned Marine Legion, whether it be Iron Hands or their successors or even some of the Salamanders. Anyway, let's take a look at a post filled with bionic bits!

The Thousand Sons can be an incredible legion to work with when it comes to crafting a specific look. There are a number of companies out there that make excellent parts that could fit into their theme, so let's take a look at what is out there.

Building A Better Khorne Berzerker with 3rd Party and Standard Parts

Old School here with the second installment of posts focused on building better Chaos Marines. This time we are going to talk about Khorne Berzerkers and Khorne Marked Marines. The berzerker is a special kind of evil to me as he is the embodiment of rage, the full, violent potential of the Adeptus Astartes unleashed, unbound by the chains of discipline! The only problem is that the GW khorne Berzerker kit is a little dated. Let's look at bits and kits that will help you build a better Khornate Marine!

Building a Better Noise Marine with 3rd Party Bits and Standard Parts!

Old School here with the first in a series of articles on building better Chaos Marines with third company parts. As many of mine are in the mail, I will simply walk you through some of the parts that are out there for an aspiring Chaos Champion. Today's post will cover Noise Marines. The noise Marine has had a special place in the hearts of many Chaos players and with a new codex and a lowered points cost (as well as a sweet weapon profile), there are sure to be many new converts to the path of flesh. Let's take a look at what is available out there.
