Yellow, Rusty Necrons: Make them yours! UPDATED!

TJ here to see if anybody out there wants a great Necron army before I explore options like EBay to sell it. These yellow, rusty crons have been a good army for me and contributed to a massive tournament run for me in 6th. They have also contributed to a couple Best Painted awards whether for the models being in a Best Painted Army for a tourney or for individual models (the Destroyer Lord has won two for Best Painted at local events). Let's take a look at what I am offering.

Iron Man Themed Tau: The Last of Them ... Or Only the Beginning?!

TJ here with the last of the original Iron Man themed Tau commission I began painting January 6th. With nearly 150 models under my belt on this commission, I am happy to say that the owner got to have them in completion on the day the codex debuted. I know he may pass some work to me in the future, but for the moment, I am excited to see the project's completion. Let's take a quick look at the models and discuss the next route the hobby will take me down project wise ...

Iron Man Themed Tau: Spec Ops Cadre

TJ here with another update from the Iron Man Themed Tau Commission. Today we are looking at what I have dubbed "The Spec Op Cadre" which, as always are featured on my terrible range-top (for info on how to donate a better stove to me, use the "Contact Us" tab, haha). In all seriousness though, we are down to the nitty gritty on the Tau and these guys represent some of the last models in the commission as work comes to a close. This is bittersweet to me for two reasons: 1) I wanted to do this to make me not want to revisit my days as a Tau player ... and this commission has failed to make me hate them. 2) I know that with a new book, the client will be happy to play with his entire old collection fully painted ... and because of the update, I will likely have to paint more Tau, which is bittersweet for other reasons. Anyway, enough rambling from me, let's take a look at a few pics and get on with our Friday roll through the blog hay!

Iron Man Themed Tau: Stealth Teams and Thoughts on a New Camera

Alright, I am back with more Iron Man Themed Tau ... And I am in the market for an actual camera. Any way, here are the remaining stealth suits I made for the commission and I have to say that despite looking like ass in these pics, they are the best models I have painted yet for this project.

Iron Man Themed Tau Commission Update: Drone-a-palooza!

Old School here with another glorious update to the Iron Man Themed Tau Commission. This time I am going to drone on a bit (glorious pun) about Drones and Crisis Suits ... and two little seeker missiles. Let's take a look.

My Painted Death Wing Are Up For Grabs!

Old School here to extend an opportunity to our readers to grab a hold of one of my painted armies - The Death Wing. I have too many projects on my bench these days and I am looking at two years coming up where my play time will be constrained more than it has in the last four years. With that said, I am going to offer up the Death Wing to somebody who wants to give it a good home. I had a lot of fun with this army and had a really good run with it over the last two and a half years, with some RTT victories and painted awards, so I look at it as time well invested on my end. Let's take a look at what is up for grabs.

Iron Man Themed Tau Commission Update: I am Iron Van!

Old School here with an update to the Iron Man Tau Commission in which my client plans to have a full Tau army painted up in the famous Stark Industries color scheme. That being said, this totals his armory to seven fully painted vehicles and really clears my plate as it frees me up to finish the last of the suits and move into the final stages of the project.

Iron Man Themed Tau: The First 69 Models!

Old School here with some pics from the Iron Man themed Tau commission that I have been working on. This is pretty much the first half (or more) of the whole project. I know my camera hates reds and yellows, but I am going to put it out there anyway! There are tons of models here, so let's take a look.

Tau Broadsides and Fire Warriors: Stark Industries Style

Jarvis, AKA Old School Terminator, here with the latest production series of Iron Man Mark Tau goodies from my current Stark Industries-themed commission project! This is turning out to be a pretty fun paint scheme as it fluffs both my love of xenos and bright colors while also embracing one of my youth's favorite comic book heroes. Let's take a look:

Iron Man Themed Tau Stealth Suits! Old School Versions!

Old School here with the first update of my latest commission: Iron Man themed Tau Stealth Suits (old school style). A local gaming buddy asked me to take on a Tau commission and I kind of fussed, but then he said "Dude, Iron Man Tau" and at that point, I said "Call me Jarvis" and we rolled up our sleeves to look at his collection!

Tau Empire Suits, Tauros and Some Notes on Commission Paint

Old School here with some shots of a simple commission I completed for a client and some notes I have on commission painting. All of the models in the photo minus the one crisis suit without the white helmet were painted by me. Lately I have had a Tau bug and it doesn't seem to be going away. It's no mystery really, they were my first army and I really guess I never got over them. Let's take a look and take a little about commissions or at least my personal views on the basics of commission work.

Commission Completion; Chaos and Grey Knights...sort of...

I know I'm way way way behind on the painting challenge so I decided I needed to get out the commissions I have so I can work on my own stuff and get back on track.  In my sleep less evenings I've been working on guardsmen after guardsmen after guardsmen to get my IG army finally finished.  Expect a flood of grey and black camouflage in the future (and part 2 of that weathering video with the Leman Russ in it.  I know,  I'm a lazy bastard!).  For now enjoy a chaos lord with human flesh cloak and a super old school Armorcast Grey Knights Shadow Sword...I'm willing to bet its the only one ever...

Sisters of Battle Commission Complete!

After this army passed around the local scene it finally settled in the loving hands of a local player who wanted it to look awesome as well as just be awesome.

The Judge picked this up a while back and posted about how awesome it was and then promptly sold it. When he bought it I immediately said "You know, I'm a commission painter, right?" I've always had a secret love for sisters of battle and their crazy awesome codex (Yeah, that's right, I said it, go read their codex. AP 1 missiles? Yeah, they got it..)

I was allowed to have creative freedom and for some dumb reason said "Aw, dude, these would look awesome in white!" Opps.....

When doing this scheme I wanted to do a combination of pure and relics. Gold was used as a sign of purity (I'm catholic, I can't help but think that way. And yes, I felt guilty about this project, I can't help that either). The white armor also was for purity and then the bronze/tarnished weapons are a sign of them being revered artifacts.

Any how, here's the flood of pictures.

Some Commission Genestealers by OST

Old School here to show off a few pics of some commission work I am doing for a friend's Tyranid army. The models are painted for the tabletop and to fit a dark theme utilizing the colors found in Dark Horse's Alien comics. Let's take a look.

Sisters of Battle Test model

Hey, CVinton with a sisters army commission and I just put some paint on the models. Thought everyone might like to see the test model. Just a little midnight eye candy snack.

These were taken on my phone, once I get the army done I put up a post with better quality pictures. Enjoy!

The Next Commission comes to life!!

A while back some of our locals asked DFG about commission work and we were pretty floored both by the amount of work that needed/wanted done and the fact that someone wanted us(OST)to actually paint their stuff for them. I mean come on, it's a big compliment when someone says they want you to paint the stuff they'll be fielding and when they receive compliments people are in turn complimenting you.

Quick Blood Angel Librarian Furioso Commission for FLGS!

Old School here with a quick commission job I did Pro Bono (if you laughed, look up the definiton, lol) for the FLGS. The job was supposed to be simple and to the theme of the codex art, so that's where I stayed.
Let's take a look at some pics.

Legion of the Damned Sergeant Commission

Old School here to show off a commission I did for a friend as part of a much more epic scale Legion of the Damned project. This is the Sergeant that comes in the blister pack rather than the one from the box and I have to say that after handling it so much and working with the details, it really is one of my favorite 28mm GW models ...

Black Templar Commission (pic heavy)

Just a couple of pictures of some Black Templars I just finished up for a local commission. Enjoy the eye candy. One day...someday...we'll be doing commissions on here and these are all level 2. As for now, business is steady enough locally to put a couple bucks in our pocket.

There are tons of photos, so keep reading to see more ...

Legion of the Damned - post 3

Old School here with a few more pics from my Legion of the Damned Commission. In case you haven't seen the others, I have been commissioned for a massive amount of Legion of the Damned and as I go along, I am posting photos of the ones I have finished in the weeks prior to the stage I am currently on.

While I love the flames, I am also tired of the same models. If you have seen the other two posts in this series, then you know two of these models has already appeared - not a good sign, but never the less here they are.

I did a head switch on this one - the other that I have doen had a beakie head.

I really do enjoy the flames!

I also enjoy writing random LoD themed things on the pads and parchement. This one says "Damned"

Not much else to say. There are tons more to come. Feedback as always is appreciated!
