TJ here with a post brought to you by one of our Facebook posters. I was pointed toward Epoch Studioz recently and found some really great alternative heads, weapons (including TL devourer solutions), plates, pods and more. Let's take a look at what they have to offer the expecting broodmothers out there.

DFG Network: Top Posts of the Week Oct 1!

Old School here with another round up from the DFG Network blogs! Keeping in theme with our month-long celebration of Halloween, we will be mostly looking toward the evil and creepy! First up, Synaps3 has been logging his progress for his Eldar/ Dark Eldar army as the week's close in. His conversions and paint jobs always amaze me and the DEldar alliance are nothing if not creepy!

Tyranids in 6th Edition: First Impressions

Old School here to share some thoughts on Tyranids in 6th edition based on what I have tried so far. This is by no means an end all be all, simply my take it or leave it summary based on a few games. Here we go:

It Came From the Forums: Major Tom's Four Generations of Awesome!

Old School here with another edition of It Came From the Forums and this one is a killer! MajorTom11 at Dakka has left us with an amazing army that tugs at my heartstrings. I have seen Genestealer cults before and many have been impressive, but this the best I have ever seen. It reminds me of Prometheus, but the good Major left us these before the movie. One of great things about this post, is that I get to show you some concept sketches, sculpts and then the real, painted model. Strap in, pics incoming!

Hiv Fleet Behemoth Swarmlord; The Bane of Calgar!

Old School here to present my Hive Fleet Behemoth Swarmlord to the world. I slowly fell in love with using Swarmy in my lists over the spring and finally decided to get him built when the model came out, but really took some time when it came to painting him. Now that he is done, I am happy that I took my time (well, between Death Wing and Crons anyway). Here are some pics of the big guy!

It Came From the Forums: Pink Tyrands! Nard's Nids Gone Wild!

Old School here with another edition of It Came from the Forums and this time, we are looking at some bold, pink and at times tentacally (not a real word) Tyranids! I love the bold colors and sharp lines in this army and really appreciate the fact that the same amount of layering, shading and highlighting went into every model from the biggest bug, like the one above, to the tiny termagants as well. Let's take a look at Nard's Nids!

The Swarmlord Cometh! My take on the new Kit!

Old School here and realizing it has been a while since I posted anything for Hive Fleet Behemoth, I want to take the opportunity to post up the Swarmlord I started today based on the new plastic kit.

A Salute to the Tervigon: A Gallery of Amazing Conversions!

Old School here with a salute to the Tervigons of the "Golden Age" - A time when there was no model for everyone's favorite New Nid. I tried to include as many Tervigons as I could, though for every one of the photos here, you could likely find ten more out there! With the new model here, we can rejoice as players and hobbyists, but at the same time, it ushers in the end of an era. Enjoy the pics and please if yours is featured, give us a shout out, so people can track back to your site, I do not have the time to link them all. If you have a conversion that isn't featured, leave a link in the comments so people can follow and check it out! This is for you, Big Momma!

Hive Fleet Behemoth Hive Guard and Gants!

Old School here with an update on Hive Fleet Behemoth. This time I have a group of completed Hive Guard and Termagaunts. As the army has grown, I have really started to love how it all looks on the table. There is something to be said for Tyranids that have been feathered and placed on the field in numbers. They really give a strong impression of movement and with bright colors, are seen across the room. Let's take a look at the newest broods in my Hive fleet (click on the pics to make them larger).

Tervigon - Arachnarock Conversion Reborn: The Original Gets a New Look!

Old School here to post up some photos of the Arachnarock Tervigon, or Tervigon Alpha with a new Hive Fleet and new paint job. A little bit of history first: About a year ago, I was able to use a combination of Ninja tricks, 007 espionage and a little Jedi mind trick to get my hands on the Arachnarock kit before it was available for purchase. With the kit in hand, I was the first to convert this monster, which I first named the Dryder Tervigon and later Tervigon Alpha, but enough history, let's take a look at this big beautiful woman-bug (does that make her a BBW-B?)

Hive Fleet Behemoth Space Hulk Genestealers - Ready For War!

Old School here to officially show off my new take on tyranids. No matter what the internet or anyone else says, at the end of the day, I love these guys. To kick off my return to the Hive Fleets, I grabbed my Adepticon SP: Kill Zone (I think I registered for it this year) army from last year and gave it a new look during our painting night last week at Evolution Games. Let's take a look around my Space Hulk Hive Fleet Behemoth genestealers!

Re-Tooling My Tyranids: From Fexes back to Tyrants

Old School here to talk about some recent changes I have made to my Tyranid list and why I decided to make those changes. First off, I would like to give credit to Scab over on the Tyranid Pro-Boards for the great Tyrant image I used for this post!

Horde Armies, is it all worth it?

Old school here with a quick post tonight. I love my Nids and as you can tell from the photo, I have tons of them. That's not even counting the tyrants, pods, unbuilt vantage, gargoyles and more. And while I love them, I think looking back now, I might never have gotten involved with a horde army.

It comes down to time. I am a dad with three kids. I am also in the military. Those both are full time jobs. On top of the time it takes to paint them and assemble them, they also take a long time to set up and to push around the board. In a tourney, this can be horrible and in casual play, a massive time sink.

I don't think I will sell them, but its just that the deathwing has made me see how inconvenient a horde army is. Does anybody else out there have an army they feel the same way about? Care to share your trials and tribulations or even a possible solution?

It Came From The Forums Alaric Cantonain's Ork /Tyranid Zybrids!! You Gotta See It To Believe It!

Old School here with another edition of It Came From the Forums. This time, we are taking a look at a very creative army that has bred ork with Tyranid into a race the galaxy could never possibly survive: The Zybrids! Let's take a look at this amazing army!

The Beginning of the end of the beginning.... A new army on the horizon

As every hobbiest knows, at some point during their time playing the game, they become unhappy with how things currently are happening, on how their army performs, or how their color scheme is coming together.

Personally… I have none of these problems, I love my Imperial Guard. I love the models I use (mmmm D.K.K.), I love the multiple ways my army can be played, and almost every game I play I perform well, and win a good chunk, far far more than I lose, and I absolutely LOVE my dirty, grimy mud filled look my army has, no matter what others think or say about it (and thank you to those who appreciate it, and ask questions about it).
