Helloween: Lord Of Skulls/ Imperial Knight Kitbash: It's NOT a Kytan damn you!

Look, I already know what you are saying: "TJ shut up, bro, it's a Kytan." and you'd probably be right, which is why I am posting these blue-tac fittings to get some advice from the creative souls on the blogosphere (well, for those of us left).

TJ here with a quick post to show off some Space Wolf Primaris Hellblaster conversions I did on commission for a friend. It was fun and quick and I think it did the trick!

New Nurgle, pt. 2 -- a hands on with the new Putrid Blightkings

Hey everyone, KrautScientist here. In the last post published here on DFG, TJ already talked about the possible conversion potential of the new Putrid Blightkings. And now that the kit has been with us for a while, allow me to talk in more detail about my own experience with these guys. Step this way to learn more.

Knight Fever

Hey everyone, KrautScientist here. Seeing how TJ's latest posts have been focused on Knights and similar superheavy walkers, I thought I'd ride the same wave and talk about converting Imperial Knights to Chaos.

Having worked on my own Chaos Knight conversion recently, I have put a fair bit of thought into the business of building Knights to fight for the ruinous powers -- and it would certainly make lots of sense to make you dear readers profit from the research I did for my own project, right? Thought so! Now if you would step this way, please...

World Eaters Knight Titan Lord of Skulls Kitbash: Inspiration and a Plan!

TJ here. Ok, so it is no secret that I love huge conversions and evil machines/ monsters. For more than a year, I have looked at the Lord of Skulls and wished it was something else, something more. Then Imperial Knights came along and I got really excited, but figured the scale of the Lord and the Knight were off (the torso seemed way too big for the knight legs in photos ... but then I just kept getting bombarded with ideas.

My very first Obliterator...

Hey everyone, KrautScientist here. Today I would like to talk about a model that seems to have been ages in the making: I recently managed to finally complete the very first Obliterator model for my World Eaters. Now why did it take me so long? After all, it could have been as easy as picking up a box of Oblitz from my FLGS, assembling them and slapping on some paint, right? Where's the problem?

Yes, well. I have a bit of a complicated history when it comes to Obliterators. Allow me to elaborate.

More Centurions

Hey everyone, KrautScientist here, with a follow up post about the Centurion kit. While my last post on the matter was supposed to take a closer look at the kit itself and show you some promising conversions, today I would like to feature even more takes on the heavy hitting Astartes assault suits.

Quo vadis, Centurions? An In-Depth Review

Hey everyone, Krautscientist here. And for the fluently Latinate among you: Yes, I realise it should probably rather say "Centurione" or "Centuriones" in the title ;) Anyway, what is this about?

With the Space Marine release now some time behind us, I thought it would be interesting to take a look at what may be one of the more divisive GW kits in recent history: the Centurions.

Showcase: KrautScientist's Orkheim Ultraz

Hey everyone, KrautScientist here, with another post showcasing one of my hobby projects. And while I realise that today’s post doesn’t deal with dark future gaming so much, please bear with me: With GW officially pulling the plug on the Specialist systems, I believe we can all use some specialist love... *ahem*, that came out sounding funny… Anyway, what is this about?

The Gorilla: Daemon Prince/ Greater Daemon Conversion WIP!

As many of you already know, I like to make big monsters. The latest conversion project on my desk is no exception. I call this guy the Gorilla (mostly due to the pose and anatomy) and he is a conversion of the Helbrute and Mauler Fiend kits with some extras thrown in with a whole lot of pinning and Green Stuff. Let's take a look at the model so far:

Showcase: Kitbashed Legio Custodes army

Hey everyone, KrautScientist here. Yet another showcase post from me. And while the project I would like to show you today may be a little rougher around the edges than my World Eaters, Traitor Guard or INQ28 retinue, it’s because this is a fun project that helps me to recharge my hobby batteries whenever I feel tired of my other armies.

So what we are looking at here is a small army of Pre-Heresy Custodes, the Empire’s personal bodyguard. I have been in love with the Legio Custodes ever since I read through German WD 112 (from April 2005): Not only did it feature rules for a Horus Heresy campaign, but it also marked the first time I ever saw Dave Taylor’s spectacular Legio Custodes army. There was something about those guys that really clicked with me. And even now, quite a few years later, Dave’s Custodes are still easily one of my favourite armies ever.
