Awesome Backpacks Turn Your Pets Into Tiny Little Astronauts When They Travel

Traveling with pets is always pretty tricky. Keeping them calm and carrying them around from place to place in clunky cages or bags can put a major strain on even the most serene outings.

But this cool carrier is about to change all of that. It’ll make your little buddies look like tiny, fluffy astronauts while they take in all of the sights right by your side.

This Tiny Baby Raccoon Fell Out Of A Tree -- And Into A Whole New Life

One day while walking in her hometown of Nassau, Bahamas, Rosie Kemp found a baby raccoon that had fallen out of a tree. The mother raccoon was nowhere to be seen, and the baby was injured and in need of help. Together with her daughter, Laura Young, Kemp decided to nurse the baby back to health.

The mother-daughter team named the little raccoon Pumpkin and when she was recovered, she went to live with Young and her husband — and their two dogs.

It didn’t take long for Pumpkin to settle in…and boy did she fit in well.

“She instantly bonded with us and our two rescue dogs and follows [us] everywhere we go,” Young says.

Like, really well.

Pumpkin and the dogs immediately got along, and now, the trio plays, snuggles, and lives together very happily. Since she was only a baby when she came to live with the Youngs, she simply considers herself part of the pack — and that means respecting the other members.

“She is able to play and be rough with them and she respects them when they have had enough,” Young says, explaining how Pumpkin’s behavior was shaped by her new siblings.

Pumpkin loves hanging out with the dogs, playing outside, and of course getting into just about everything. Raccoons have very dextrous front paws, and are able to do things like open jars and untie knots.

Since they aren’t domesticated the way dogs are, their behavior is very different. Young says that Pumpkin can be “moody,” but for the most part, she’s happy living the domestic life, and enjoys fried eggs, watermelon, and has even learned how to use the toilet.

A Hurricane Swept This Baby Out Of Her Tree, But Now She's Living The Good Life

When Hurricane Isaac struck Louisiana three years ago, it caused considerable destruction, leaving people with a lot to clean up. But it’s not just humans who are affected by storms — animals are, too. They can lose their homes just like humans…and that’s just what happened to Jill.

She was just a baby squirrel when the hurricane knocked her out of her nest. Luckily for Jill, though, she was rescued.

Today, she’s living large in the home of her new human family.

And she’s definitely enjoying herself.

She likes taking naps…

…and shredding magazines.

And of course she always enjoys a snack.

She can sometimes get a bit dramatic, but that’s okay. Jill is living the life.

Jill’s human says that she’s adapted quite well to her new digs, and over three years, has come to really make it her home.

She’s even used to the dog and the cat, although she and the cat, Binks, are kept away from each other just in case.

Here she is enjoying some sleepy quality time with her humans.

But when she’s more awake, she enjoys stealing socks.

Look out for Jill!

This Kitty Is Totally Obsessed With Showers...Seriously, Just Look At Him!

Anyone who comes from a big family knows the morning battle for the bathroom all too well. It’s a struggle that Katie the great dane has to deal with every morning, as her buddy Sid is obsessed with taking long showers.

Watch as she grows ever more impatient waiting her turn for the shower. It might take some time though, since Sid is totally loving the experience!

Having to get up super early as a kid to beat my three brothers to the shower was stressful enough. I can’t imagine what it would have been like if I had to compete with the family pets, too!

Who Says A Big, Burly Dog Isn't Just As Cute As The Tinier Tykes? Not Us!

Being little kind of makes it easy to be considered cute — it’s almost a given. But that doesn’t mean that those of us who are bigger or more burly and intimidating-looking don’t need some love and affection, too. Just take a gander at these great, brawny pooches. They’re proving that no matter your size, a dog is a dog and is just as cute as the tiny ball of fluff next to it.

They don’t like it when you make assumptions.

They like to hang out on the couch (or, hang on as much of the couch as they can fit on).

And they always want to snuggle. Consider it a weight-training exercise.

They don’t have to be big to be burly, though.

They can always use a nap.

They make friends with tiny kittens.

Like, really good friends.

And when they play? Well, it’s pretty adorable…

Although sometimes the kittens take advantage.

They’re not so keen on other creatures, though.

But they are certainly not afraid of the toaster.

And they’re totally not freaked out by thunderstorms, either.

But they do have their favorites.

And at the end of the day, they melt into big piles of cuteness.

Big, floppy piles.

Don’t worry tiny-but-sturdy friend. One day, you, too, will be a giant-size pile of mush.

Every giant pile of mush started out as a tiny pile of mush.

The size changes, but the mushiness? Not so much.

Bonus for enormous kitties!

Big dogs can certainly be intimidating because of their sheer size, but inside, they’re just looking for a little love — and probably some treats.

This Little Piggy Sure Is Cute, But For Her Human, She's So Much More

Even while they wallow in mud, it’s hard to deny that pigs are pretty darn cute. They’re also known to be highly intelligent and very clean; the mud is to protect their skin from the sun and to keep cool, so it’s very practical! They also make great pets in the right environments, and for some people, they make so much more than a great pet and companion — they can actually save lives.

One of these lifesaving piggies is Hamlet, friend and companion to Melanie Gomez.

Meet Hamlet.

Melanie Gomez, her human, loves her very much.

She likes healthy snacks…

…going for swims…

…making friends…

…and taking naps.

But Hamlet also serves a much greater purpose for Gomez.

When she was in college, Gomez was diagnosed with epilepsy, which causes seizures. Her condition continued to worsen as she got older, and she went from having one or two seizures a year to having eight to 10 seizures a day.

“Daily activities became like climbing Everest to me,” she recounts.

Gomez’s husband wanted her to have a companion animal to keep her safe, but he was extremely allergic to dogs and cats. The solution? A pig, of course!

And that’s how Hamlet came into Gomez’s life.

Not only did Hamlet’s cuteness bring a smile to Gomez’s face, but she also helped her learn to appreciate life once again.

And Hamlet’s enjoying her time with her humans, too.

“Hamlet came to me in a seemingly hopeless situation,” Gomez says.

“She never left my side on my worst days and was always ready to play. She’s the reason I took up photography. I wanted to capture all of our silly adventures and share her amazing personality.”

These two have a really special bond.

“Hamlet saved me,” Gomez says. “My epilepsy taught me how frail life can be. Hamlet taught me that life is a beautiful gift despite its frailty. I hope Hamlet’s photos bring you as much joy, laughter, and love as she’s brought me.”

21 Hilarious Animal Jokes So Bad They Go Right Back To Being Great

Sitting in a comedy club and listening to someone’s jokes bomb one after the other can be the most cringe-inducing experiences a person can endure. It’s even worse if you’re the poor, brave sap who gave it their all just to strike out.

Unfortunately for human comedians, there is a solution to making even the worst jokes work: put an adorable animal behind it. Something about their silly faces can turn a bad joke all the way back to good again. These puns and punchlines may be awful, but they’ll still put a smile on your face.

Sure, you might have rolled your eyes at some of these, but you know you’ll be giggling about them later.
