What She Mixed Into Normal Microwavable Popcorn Had Me Drooling. I Need This.

With a few extra prep steps, you too can turn your movie night popcorn into the greatest treat imaginable. That’s because we’re going to show you how to make…BIRTHDAY CAKE POPCORN!

In other words, the next time you and your loved ones fire up Netflix, you could be chowing down on some truly epic snack food.

I had no idea you could combine two of my all-time favorite foods. This may be the greatest combo since chocolate and peanut butter!

A Meat Cake Might Sound Gross, But It's Actually Genius...And Adorable

If someone shouts out, “Who wants cake?!” in a crowded room, you’ll usually hear an overwhelming “Meee!” from a bunch of people expecting to receive a paper plate piled high with too-sweet sugary frosting and chocolatey, baked goodness. That’s simply what society has conditioned us to expect. But Anna Hezel and Gabriella Paeilla over at Lucky Peach have got a new take on what the word “cake” actually means, and while it might seem like a bizarro-world concoction, it’s actually pretty incredible.

This pup knows something you don’t know right off the bat…

And it’s that while that white stuff may look like a nice cream cheese frosting, it’s actually instant mashed potatoes. Why would you want potatoes on a cake, like…ever? Well…

It’s because the inside of the cake is pretty much a giant hamburger patty.

And this cake is made for dogs!

Here’s what you’ll need to make this for your pooch:

  • 6 pounds of hamburger meat

  • Hot dogs

  • Hydrated mashed potato mix

  • Ketchup, mustard, peas, Sriracha

  • Parsley, lettuce, kale, or anything green

  • Cake pans

  • Toothpicks

Feel free to get more or less fancy with any of these ingredients!

Here’s how to make it:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  • Line the cake pans (small, medium, large) with parchment paper and pack in your hamburger meat.

  • Cook for 30-40 minutes, or until meat is baked all the way through.

  • Let cool for ten minutes.

  • Place the largest meat cake onto a plate and plop some potatoes on top; repeat with medium and small meat cakes.

  • Add the rest of the potatoes and spread so it looks pretty.

  • Decorate with peas, Sriracha, ketchup, and hot dogs.

(Some decoration inspiration, should you need any.)

I know we said this was for your dog…but you know, you could eat it, too, if you’re into that…

And there you have it! An adorable, albeit strange, meat cake.

“Maybe we could share?”

If you think about it, the British have been doing this for centuries…we’ve all heard of shepherd’s pie, right? They just didn’t think to add adorable hot dog people to the top!

If you do share this with your dog, please, for the love of god, take a video and send it to us!

These Yummy Cakes Can Be Made Using An Unexpected Household Item

More traditional bakers might like mixing batter by hand, but there’s something to be said for making tasty treats in no time flat.

If you’re lacking in the patience department, this blender cake is about to solve all of your baking woes. It’s vegan-friendly, and all you have to do is whip up some batter in a blender, bake it, and call it a day.

Even though this looks like your average cake, the way it’s made is far from traditional.

Here’s what you’ll need to make the perfect batter:

  • 1 cup oil

  • 2 cups water

  • 3 tbs vanilla (Yes, tablespoons. Trust us.)

  • 2 tbs vinegar

  • 2 cups sugar

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa

  • 2 tsp baking soda

  • 3 cups flour

Just pile the ingredients into a blender. Talk about easy cleanup!

The blender creates a fluffy, thoroughly combined mixture.

After it’s all mixed up, pour it into two circular pans and bake.

Allow the layers to cool, add some yummy frosting, and enjoy!

The best part is that you’ll only have to wash a blender and some measuring cups when all is said and done.

Have Some Old, Melted Ice Cream? Here's Something Genius You Can Do With It

I don’t think there is anything more depressing than seeing melted, soupy ice cream sitting in a bowl. It’s like watching something’s amazing potential be spoiled. No one likes to look at it and they definitely don’t want to eat it.

But instead of throwing that sad excuse for ice cream out, do something incredible with it. Watch how you can turn your melty bowl of sorrow into a delicious new dessert in just minutes.

These Swirling Galaxies Of Color Are Beautiful, But Did You Know They're Edible, Too?

We all know how pretty cakes, cupcakes, and cookies can be, especially when you add intricate icing details and fondant sculptures to the mix. But when it comes to eating those cakes — which can reach practically architectural heights — things can get a bit overwhelming. (And if there’s a ton of fondant involved, you’re pretty much eating straight sugar.)

But what if you could have a cake that was made from fresh ingredients and was still completely gorgeous? Well, you can. These vegan cakes are created by Stephen McCarty, who founded Sukhavati Raw Desserts. “Sukhavati” means “happy” in Hindi, and you’ll see why that makes sense when you take a look at these cakes.

Fruit, fruit and vegetable purees, and other natural foods help this baker create bright, cosmic designs. Nothing artificial here!

This is a strawberry, rose, and cacao cheesecake-style cake. Vegan substitutes replace the cheese and other animal ingredients.

This cake was made for a friend in honor of her new baby.

They don’t have to be bright to be beautiful, either. This banana and cacao cake is just as lovely in earth tones.

Ginger, goji berry, and cacao.

This was McCarty’s own birthday cake.

The purple XX symbols were created to celebrate his 20th anniversary of being a vegan.

And he’s not just limited to cakes. This is a smoothie bowl with a similar mandala pattern on the top.

It’s mango, banana, and hemp milk with maca and raw honey. The mandala was created using dragon fruit, spirulina, and turmeric.

Pureed pea tendrils, goji berries, and blueberries make up the design on this banana and green fig smoothie.

Your first thought might be, “No way, those are too pretty to eat!” But it’s okay, really! McCarty wants them to be eaten. For him, these cakes are a perfect representation of Buddhist philosophy. The concept of impermanence dictates that all things must change form at some point.

He compares them to Tibetan sand mandalas, which are large, colorful, and labor-intensive…and they’re destroyed upon completion. Each cake, with it’s colorful, symmetrical designs, is created to be eaten.

Thanks to Instagram, their images can live on forever.

Besides, they’re too tasty to resist!
