Parakeets

ABOVE ON TOP, Two (green yellow), BELOW, Two Budgies (turquoise blue). Each original is 8" x 8" x 1/2", acrylics on panel with the image painted around the sides, $159 each plus s&h. Inquiries may come  to me . I am thinking about lines, and how they are far more than just edges. Trying to make each of my brushstrokes line-like. It's turning my brain inside out a bit, although I expect my brain already was a bit inside out to begin with. Anyways, these would make glorious Mother's Day gifts. With a paypal payment, I can get them to you in time for gifting that first Sunday in May. Share Tweet Forward

Sonny

"Sonny," 12" x 46", acrylics on panel, featuring a Meerkat at attention, with a mess of yellow daisies, $1999 (with complimentary shipping inside the US). Inquiries may come  to me . Funny story about Sonny. I went to Home Depot (with paint in my hair and all over me, because when inspiration hits, who's got time to clean up?), bought an 8 foot long panel, and had them cut it in half. Took both pieces (48" square) out to my car, only to find out that they wouldn't fit. Schlepped both pieces back to the lumber guy and asked him to trim so they would fit. He took a foot off each one. Which left me with 2 tall skinny panels for 2 tall skinny compositions like Sonny's. Now I need to think of another one. Thanks for following along with my artwork, Kim ksantini@turtledovedesigns.com

Warrior Princess & A Few Muses

"Warrior Princess," 6" x13", portrait of my daughter and friends, acrylics on a museum quality panel, depicting a scene from their group ballet number of the same title, collection of The Princess.   I wish wish wish wish wish wish wish wish I had paid better attention in my life drawing classes many moons ago. Because now this sort of stuff - drawing my kids doing the things they love - would be so much easier.   In process pictures are on  the studio's Facebook page  along with.....   The Dog a Day Valentine's Day Giveaway finalists !   Go take a peek and see if you can predict who I'm going to paint on Thursday (honestly, I don't know yet!!)   Fondly,  Kim, who wants to start a new painting now but her calendar is full of other things. Wah.

February Desktop Calendar

There is fresh snow on the ground from last night, yet it's been raining all day - not your typical late January Michigan weather. Although I suppose nothing is quite typical of Michigan weather anyway.  It IS good napping in a warm spot weather, though! To implement this month's desktop calendar, simply download the file  directly from my website . I've set up a couple different ways to do this, either via the photo album or a direct link. I am by no means an expert on the variety of operating systems, so I highly recommend that if you don't know how to change your desktop wallpaper, don't email me for advice. Instead consult your computer's help files - they will be more concise, more knowledgeable and more responsive than I could ever hope to be.  I've sized this to fit a standard screen height of 768 - I realize there are lots of variables that could impact how the file displays on your screen. Let me know if,...

Splash, Anna and Finnigan

"Splash," 9" x 12", acrylic on museum quality panel, depicting a certain Princess and her rather neurotic Cattle Dog partner in crime, playing together in Paint Creek. This painting was done in acrylics on museum quality panel, and is the latest acquisition by the artist. Yes, me. I'm allowed to claim one every so often, no?   This is one of my favorite memories of this summer - taking Finnigan down to the creek, and watching him play water frisbee with his girl.   What's your favorite summer memory?   Kim, who is fearing the day when The Princess will be too cool to need me for anything other than a clothes allowance, but savoring and loving every single moment between now and then, including today's emergency trip to the library for "brain food" ksantini@turtledovedesigns.com
