Poppy

Poppy view her on my website Poppy, original acrylic on flat panel, 18”x24”, $1000 plus s&h. I welcome your questions (yes, I offer payment plans - details below). Just  reach out . I am typing this newsletter from across my easel where I have an audience of a crabapple fox, a dahlia fox, a rose filled horse, and a horse exploding with dahlias. I have another large double equine piece I thought would be filled with climbing roses, but it seems she has other plans - nevertheless, she glows with a springlike green and shimmery pink. Meanwhile, the snow and ice outside are melting. It will be a bit before the above color is mirrored in the Michigan landscape, but I’m not letting that hold me back in the studio. You are invited to view Poppy  on my website, inside a room setting  and  up close . The link to purchase her is also there.  Let me know  if you would like a payment plan (30% non refundable deposit with the balance plus shipping paid in ful...

Heirloom Rose

Heirloom Rose view her on my website Heirloom Rose, original acrylic on panel, 16”x20”, $850 plus s&h. This painting will ship on or after until December 10, 2024. I welcome your questions (yes, I offer payment plans - details below). Just  reach out . I realized the other day that it’s been nearly 10 years since I was the official artist of The Kentucky Derby. I had always thought of roses as my own personal symbol (because of my grandmother’s love of gardening) but this experience, creating the artwork for the 2015 Run for the Roses, cemented the rose as one of my “things.” How has it been 10 years? Heirloom Rose is one of a handful of new pieces that wallow in the whole horse and rose concept. While skies turn gray and color fades in Michigan, I’m already dreaming of spring and a glorious garden. These pieces will hopefully inspire larger works to keep me steeped in color during the winter months. You may view Heirloom Rose  on my website, inside a room setting a...

INNER GARDEN

Inner Garden view her on my website Inner Garden, original acrylic on panel, 18”x24”, $1000 plus s&h. I always welcome your questions (yes, I offer payment plans - details below). Just  reach out . A few years back I did a journaling lesson  on interior landscapes . The idea of being a container for all the things I cherish the most about the world was a thrilling one to sit with and journal about.  I took this concept one step further with Fox. If she were a vessel of her loves, what might she hold? the night sky, mossy pathways, scents traveling on a gentle breeze, the awakening of spring and warmth of summer. You can view - or purchase - Inner Garden  on my website .  Let me know  if you would like a payment plan (30% non refundable deposit with the balance plus shipping paid in full inside 12 months time). Repeat offenders, i.e. returning collectors, please use “COLLECTOR10” at checkout for 10% off the acquisition of original artwork. Thanks ...

It's a fantastic way to reframe the designs and allow the paintings to have conversations with each other. I've also discovered that some of the paintings feel stronger when they are toge...

NEW PAINTING The Smallest Light

The Smallest Light, acrylic on panel, 24"x24", $1200 plus s&h   to the first asking nicely . Questions can always come  to me. Titled for one of my favorite songs,  The Smallest Light by Ingrid Michaelson , this painting is about multiple and simultaneous points of view. The mouse asks us to see the world from her perspective in a design where the skyscape collides with her little corner of the universe. This is the perfect painting for anyone with big dreams and desires. I am very curious about edge treatment - how an abrupt edge like the vertical sky on the upper right can transform spatial energy and convey a sense of vastness alongside her small little pocket of garden. You can see The Smallest Light in greater detail  here ,  view her up close and in a room setting, and find a link to purchase.  Let me know if you would like a payment plan (30% non refundable deposit with the balance plus s&h paid off within a year) - those are set ...

NEW PAINTING The Edge of Night

"The Edge of Night," 24"x36"x1-1/2"", acrylic mixed media on deep cradled panel. Night will be $2000 plus s&h when available. But you need a little patience, as she's a candidate for a juried exhibition. If you can't stand the wait,  message me  and I'll get those results to you as soon as I have them myself. intuition is a huge part of my process. It's a weird thing to explain, how I bring a painting to life. An idea shows up and I invite her to the easel. Sometimes her visit is quick. Other times she can overstay her welcome - I think these are the ideas that show up before I have the skills to bring do them justice. Such was the case with Night - this painting literally took years to finish. I would carry her to a certain point, then realize I was lost, so she'd get set aside until I knew what was to come next.  That knowing is a strange thing - it's the sort of knowing one has in a dream state. You can't touch the sour...

NEW PAINTING Ivy

"Ivy," 24"x30"x1-1/2", acrylic mixed media on cradled panel with image painted around the sides (so no need to frame), $1800 plus s&h. Ivy could be yours -   message me   to make that happen. life influences art ....can you tell I gardened all weekend? trimmed trees, relocated some perennials, got my dahlias in the ground, deadheaded and weeded. It was a wonderful jumble of line and form played to a backtrack of birdsong. I know you see something different, but when I look at my paintings, I am reconnected with a moment in time. They are little pinpoints on my life's journey. Ivy is a sunny day in June spent ankle deep in periwinkle and discovering morning glories sprouted up nearly everywhere. What story does Ivy tell you?! Thanks so much for your interest in my artwork, warmly, Kim

NEW PAINTING Geranium

"Geranium," 24"x20", acrylic mixed media on panel. Geranium will be offered for sale in early June, along with a handful of other rabbit paintings. Please send any questions  my way  and thanks so much for your interest in my artwork. I wanted to try and paint the history of a plants blooms in one piece. This is an idea that has been taunting me for quite some time. I'm certain there are other ways to depict this, which I will continue to explore in upcoming pieces. Thanks for taking the time to look at my work, Be well and be inspired, Kim Available Paintings Find Your Unique Artists' Style (online instruction) Recent online class content has included an in process video and a live demonstration on how I paint the trees, discussion on how to tell our personal stories in our artwork, a challenge to examine personality traits and how they impact our art practice, a presentation on embracing change and inviting new directions to our work, a critique of stude...

NEW PAINTING Dandelion

"Dandelion," 24"x20", acrylic on panel $1100 plus s&h to the first asking nicely inside the next week. If she hasn't found a home by then she will be sent to an exhibition later this summer and available to purchase in July. Please send any questions  my way  and thanks so much for your interest in my artwork. It's been a Monday for sure. Email problems, internet down, website issues, a major billing problem with my cell phone - all the things that wind one up tighter and tighter. They are resolved now - knock on wood - and so it was extra wonderful to pull Dandelion back onto my easel for some final touches. And fitting, too, that a powerful little storm cell whipped through just as I signed her. Maybe the storm washed away all the negative energy - one can hope, right? Meanwhile, I still have a good fistful of dandelions here in the studio and am going to give them another go. Who do you suppose will show up next? Thanks for taking the tim...

NEW PAINTING Wildflower

"Wildflower," 18"x24", acrylics and graphite on panel, $799 plus s&h to the first asking nicely. I accept paypal, personal checks and payment plans. Inquiries may always come  to me . Raccoons kept popping into my brain for no apparent reason the last week or so, so I decided yesterday afternoon to give one a try. She got drawn in overtop an older painting, which immediately contributed to the blue palette. The feverfew is from my yard, and the peonies are inspired by artificial ones I set up for another painting (now long abandoned/something else, but the flowers were so pretty I left them out. Translation: I'm lazy.) I'll share what I posted on Facebook about this one:  Paintings don't always come together this easily, but when they do I attribute it to the last 21 years of working every single day. So grateful to be able to passionately work on my art and make a living doing so. Don't believe the myth of the starving artist - show up, do the...

NEW PAINTING Emerald

Kimberly Kelly Santini   paintings with soul because our world needs more beauty   "Emerald," 24"x30"x1-1/2", acrylics and graphite on cradled panel, sides painted for a beautiful contemporary look, $1299 plus s&h to the first asking nicely. I accept paypal, personal checks and payment plans. Inquiries may always come  to me . Emerald has been magical from the start. A painting overtop a painting overtop a painting overtop a painting - each rendition taking my breath away, but also becoming too precious to take any risks with. So the panel sat there, patiently waiting for me to jump back in, over the period of several years. I love working overtop another piece - the two paintings, the previous incarnation and the one emerging, have a conversation with each other. Bits are salvaged, ideas spark, something entirely new is born. With Emerald it is that glowing chest. That wasn't part of my original concept, but once I saw the fox, began p...

NEW PAINTING Gingko

"Gingko," 24"x36"x1-1/2", acrylics and graphite on cradled panel, image wrapped around edges for a beautiful contemporary look, $1899 plus s&h to the first asking nicely. I accept paypal, personal checks and payment plans. Inquiries may always come  to me . Maybe it's the gingko leaves fluttering about that lend a sense of magic. Or those blue eyes. Or that luscious pink rose slowly unfurling. Or the 4 leaf clover buried in the tangle of growth. I can't stop looking at her! She's emerging from the melted, nuanced swathes of color, partially formed but fully present. This is a remarkable painting to stand in front of. When dry, I'll hang her in one of the main rooms in the house and get some photos to show sense of scale and mood. This piece is something, all right, just like her namesake. A sacred tree inspires an ethereal painting. Thanks for following along on my painting journey, Be well, Fondly, Kim
