Sisters (Sarah & Chloe)

"Sisters (Sarah & Chloe)," 6" x 12", Golden Open acrylics on canvasboard, commissioned double pet portrait of Basset Hounds, private collection (THANK YOU!). Inquiries (including booking your own pet portrait, from miniature size [4" x 4"] to larger than life) may always come to me . My clients were looking to add a puppy to their family when they visited Sarah & Chloe's litter. There were only two pups remaining needing homes, and how could they possibly choose just one? So both the girls came with them. And have enjoyed the sort of life that every dog deserves - long walks and great cuddle time. Thanks, as always, for looking at - and sharing - my artwork and musings with your friends and family. Legs

"Legs (Basset)," 5" x 7", dog painting depicting a Bassett Hound and their person, Golden Open Acrylics on Ampersand Gessobord, available for $279 to the first one to ask nicely. Inquiries may always come to me . I saw this little guy at a parade last year, calmly hanging out on the curb while organized chaos erupted all around. I couldn't help but be a little envious of the man at the other end of the leash. It was a gorgeous day, full of sunshine and color, and he was just as relaxed as the dog, soaking it all up with a big, happy grin on his face. Meanwhile, I was herding elementary schoolers through the parade while fielding texts from my high schooler who was stranded across town. For a fleeting second I wanted to stop, grab a seat next to them on the sidewalk, and punch out for the day. Ever get that feeling yourself? Thanks, as always, for looking at - and sharing - my artwork with your friends and family. Kim ksantini@turtledovedesigns.com www.paintin...

Bobblehead (Sam), Mr. Bass-ador

"Bobblehead (Sam)," 6" square, Basset Hound Labrador Retriever mixed breed pet portrait, acrylic on canvasboard, $249. Proceeds from the sale of "Bobblehead" will go to my shelter, the Oakland Pet Adoption Center. Inquiries may always come to me .   I asked for your rescue stories, and they are pouring in. Thank you! You may continue to send them, and I'll work the stories and faces into the daily paintings as I can. Submissions may come to ksantini@turtledovedesigns.com  or get keyed as comments right here.   Sam was the featured "Shelter Pet of the Week" in his community's newspaper. His family saw that face and couldn't resist - Dad was immediately dispatched with specific directions to bring home Sam. And bring him home he did!! All 55 lbs of clowning, loveable "Bass-ador."   Thanks, as always, for sharing my paintings. See you tomorrow, Kim ksantini@turtledovedesigns.com

"Droopy," the 8th Dwarf

"Droopy," 4" x 5", basset hound mix dog portrait, acrylic on board. Won't he look darling framed and tucked into a special place? Inquiries may come to ksantini@turtledovedesigns.com . After painting Droopy, I got the idea to paint the dwarfs from Snow White. Don't ask me how I made that connection - I'm not certain myself. But can't you see it? A bulldog as Grumpy, a golden retriever as Happy, a sheepdog as Sneezy, a mastiff as Sleepy - ahh, this could be really fun. Now all I have to do is carve out the time to paint them!! And to paint the foil wrapped holiday chocolates I picked up, too - truffles, Santas, and other great shapes. Gotta paint those before I eat them. So many ideas, so little time. But first it's off to make dinner. I've decided to grill a steak (in the falling snow, no less). Sweet potatos are in the oven and we'll have a big salad. Thinking of doing all these paintings works up a good appetite! Thanks, as always,...

Sweet Pea, (Senior) Basset Hound

"Sweet Pea," 8" square, commissioned basset hound dog portrait , acrylic on board, $229. Inquiries to ksantini@turtledovedesigns.com . Don't just you adore the swing to her ear?! If anyone knows of a family who rescues senior dogs and perhaps had a basset many moons ago like this sweet girl, please forward this email to them. I was commissioned to paint Sweet Pea oh-so-many-months-ago, but the email address I have for my client is no longer valid. I'll hold this painting for 2 weeks, and then it goes to the first taker. Do I see any hands?! Which brings up a great point. Since I'm asking those of you who are waiting for a dog-a-day portrait to stand in line for what seems like an eternity and then some, please please please do your best to keep me up to date with your contact information. I would love snail addresses. Otherwise, should your email change, just let me know..... Thanks, as always, for looking. And for sharing these paintings with your friends a...
