Oh Gnome

Hello crafty friends and happy Saturday!  I hope you all have fun things planned for the weekend ahead.  This is Crystal Komara here, one of the "old," though I much prefer the term original ; )  DT members for Butterfly Reflections, Ink!   I'm always happy to come back and share with you what I'm creating.   Today I have a slimline card featuring all of the fun  Oh Gnome  characters from Lawn Fawn .  I know, I know, it's not part of the super cool new Lawn Fawn release , but I have been working really hard at using some of the many, many stamps that I own that haven't been used and this set is one of them.  Plus, it's always great to see some of the old things become new again!  This Lawn Fawn Mushroom House is still one of my favorites.  I've been dying to make a Smurf themed card using this fun die set too!! Card Details:  This base of this slimline card (8 1/2" x 3 1/2") was made from Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. This is my g

Penguin Road Trip Card by Tina

Hello crafty friends, Tina here with a sweet road trip card! Aren’t these penguins from the Sunny Studio Passionate Penguins the cutest ever? I love that this set gives you so many adorable images, so the possibilities are endless! Today we are creating a mini slimline card with a mountain scene in the background. To start I stamped the sweet car image onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Cardstock. I die cut the slimline first and then used a small dome die to cut into this panel. I stamped the mountain scene from Sunny Studio Country Scenes to this dome shape. Next, I drew a road for the car to drive on. All the coloring was done with Copic markers Copics used Car        BG11, BG13, BG34, Y11, T3, T5 Penguins    T5, T7, C9 Scene        T1, T3, V000, V12, BG13, BG11, E41, E42, E43, C1, C3, C5 To match the scene, I inked up the slimline panel with Spun Sugar distress oxides ink . The sentiment was pulled from the MFT More Essential Sentiments set and stamped onto a banner die

Hugs & Kisses Card by Tina

Hello crafty friends, it’s Tina with a cute slimline card featuring some adorable bunnies from the Sunny Studio Bunnyville set . This set is perfect for Easter cards but can be used for many other occasions, as I am showing today. The base panel is easy to make with the Slimline Meadows die from Whimsy Stamps . This die is amazing since it creates a whole background scene at once. The large tree die cut is also included in this set, and I decided to make mine extra ‘fluffy’ with lots of green layers. I used my Copic markers to give the tree and the grassy borders some dimension and structure. The colors I used are listed below. Next, I stamped the cute bunnies, butterfly, and carrots from the set onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and did some more Copic coloring. Deep down under

Hello everyone! Gladys here and I'm so excited to be back on the BRI blog today. I have a fun  underwater theme to share with you so let's dive in shall we. See what I did there! :) I recently picked up the new Tim Holtz distress oxide ink in prize ribbon and I wanted to use it for an underwater scene so that was my inspiration for this card. I love this vibrant blue tone, I think it's very pretty and perfect for water or sky backgrounds.  I also got this new stamp set called Deep Down from Paperie Ink. I think it came out a couple of months ago and I'm a fan of their illustrations. I will definitely have more cards featuring their cute stamps. I stamped all the images with hybrid ink and colored them using alcohol markers. I fussy cut them out using my cutter bee scissors .  I wanted to use all of the images and in order to fit them all in a card I decide to create a slimline design . I cut out the main panel from Bristol smooth cardstock. This is my favorite paper t

Big Birthday Wishes Slimline Card

Hi BRI friends, Sara here! I am back with a new card, inspired by the July BRI Mood Board Challenge .   I really love this color palette, I think this is one of my favorite so far! So, this is my inspiration!    This time, I started with the background. I wasn’t sure how to make my scene, I didn’t know what stamp to use, but I wanted to play with Ranger alcohol ink . I have a “love and hate” relationship with this medium, because I really love the result but I am afraid of the process because you cannot control it LOL. But I thought it was the perfect time to try them! So I took out three colors that matched the Mood Board: Poppy Field, Peach Bellini and Wild Plum. I used Yupo Paper and I started applying some blending solution and some drops of color. I knew I wanted to make a slimline, but I started with a bigger sheet, so I could decide what section I like more. I also knew I wanted to leave a large white space, so I put ink only on one corner. When I got the result I wanted, I st

May BRI Moodboard inspiration with Davina

Hello crafty friends! Davina here with some BRIMoodboard color inspiration. The jewel tone colors of the May Moodboard are so easy to implement into your projects, and don’t have to necessarily be super bold. This month the colors are Linen, Teal, Fuchsia, and Coral. I wanted to create a softer slimline card using some Mama Elephants products, and I love the results. I started by cutting my layers using Mama Elephant  Slim Cut Basics . I cut the scalloped layer from a soft creamy cardstock, then gently inked some Antique linen on the edges to darken it up a bit. I had some pattern paper in my stash that I feel really captures the Moodboard colors, and uses many different values of the same few colors. I cut the stitched layer from the paper as well as two windows from the upper portion. I also but some Bristol smooth cardstock with the same die, for my sky inking. I ink blended several colors of Distress Oxides onto my white Bristol smooth paper, making sure to create a darker teal co

A Very Merry Unbirthday to You!

Hi everyone, Peggy here! You have only one birthday each year, but there are 364 UN-birthdays to celebrate (and even more in a leap year)! So I am probably right wishing you a very merry unbirthday today! Thanks for visiting the blog to see how I made this Alice in Wonderland inspired card! I started by looking through my Lawn Fawn stamp sets to find stamps I could use for the Mad Hatter's tea party. I used Gleeful Gardens (plants, mushrooms), Bicycle Built for You (boy, girl and top hat), A Creature was Stirring (plates, cookies), Forest Feast (large tree stump, milk jug, mushroom), Octopi My Heart (bow tie), Easter Before and After (white rabbit), Den Sweet Den (book stacks, cups). I stamped everything using Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink and colored with my copics. The boy was mirror stamped using a piece of acetate and I traced the lines with a black fineliner. I cut one large and two smaller slimline panels from white cardstock. One of the small panels I made into a slimline g

Wintery Birthday Slimline Card

Hi! Happy Sunday! Hope y'all are having a great weekend, I'm popping in here quickly to share a masculine birthday card using some holiday stamps! Yes, holiday stamps!  I colored (and fussy cut) the penguins and the little gift from Pretty Pink Posh's Penguin Pals  stamp set, along with the little hats and balloons from the Birthday Friends  stamp set. I used a blue - green color palette to make the card more masculine.  Then I used the  Slimline Frames & Windows Dies  to cut out the squares and ink blended the  Birthday Background Stencil  using some green ink and stamped a sentiment from the  Birthday Friends  stamp set. To assemble the card I started with a slimline cardbase (8.5 x 3.5) in a darker blue, layered with a scalloped rectangle die cut from  Slimline Frames & Portholes Dies , then I added the inked squares as a background of the penguins (which I adhered using foam tape for some added dimension) Here's a close up of the little penguins!  Thanks for

Wishing You Warm Winter Fuzzies

Hello crafty friends! It's Tina here and I have slimline holiday card to share featuring some Mama Elephant cuteness! I used the adorable Snow Friends stamp that also has a coordinating die Snow Friends Creative Cuts. I stamped, embossed and colored the images using Copic markers. I inked the scalloped background from the Mama Elephant Slim Window Dressing  die using a soft blend of Broken China, Tumbled Glass and Milled Lavender Distress Inks. I also used the Mama Elephant Slim Woodland Creative Cuts . This creates such a wonderful landscape background! I stamped and embossed the sentiment and added some snowflake sequins to the background. Using a gel pen I added some polka dots to the hats and scarves. These images are just the cutest!  Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you like my card. Have a great day :)

Falala with Davina and the November Moodboard

Hello friends! Davina here with a quick blog post and sharing my last project of the month using the November BRI Moodboard. As we are so quickly speeding through the end of this crazy year I feel like I haven’t had as much time for Cardmaking and coloring as I normally would like. But I am so happy with how this winter card turned out using the cozy fall colors of the current color board.    I often feel like knowing what colors I need to use takes away a lot of the mental struggle of choosing a theme for me. It helps me focus and not get so easily distracted trying to make decisions. I wanted to use the super fun  Happy Little Tree Farm  die set from Trinity Stamps. It comes with tons of tree pieces to make a whole forest of wonky trees. There are so many ways to layer them and switch the pieces about. I cut all the dies from two pieces of scrap cardstock, in mint and moss green. Then I used Peacock Feathers and Evergreen Bough distress oxide inks to inkblend onto the edges, to creat

Thinking of You Fall Slimline Card

Hello crafty friends! Tina here with a Fall themed slimline card featuring the adorable Pretty Pink Posh Pumpkin Patch Critters stamps .  I stamped, embossed and colored these cuties using Copic markers. I especially adore how the little critters are peeking around the pumpkins. I used the Mama Elephant Slim Card Basics for the layers. Using Distress inks I blended the background using Ripe Persimmon, Spiced Marmalade, Dried Marigold, Mustard Seed and Squeezed Lemonade.  To create the grass I used the My Favorite Things Grassy Hills die and ink blended with greens. The sentiments are from the My Favorite Things Woodland Friends stamps. I stamped and embossed them and added some sequins to embellish.  I had fun creating this card and I hope you like it!! Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day :)

Trick or Treat Slim Line Card

Hi everyone! Tina  here with a Halloween slimline card featuring the adorable Lawn Fawn Fox Costumes Before'n After stamps. I just think they are the cutest!! To create my card I used the stitched layer from the LDRS Slim Line Scallop Dies  and ink blended the background using Distress Inks. I masked off a circle for the full moon. I also added some splatter and the bats from the Lawn Fawn Build A House Add On Halloween Dies.  I built the houses by trimming them down to a single story using the Lawn Fawn Build-A-House dies .  I colored in the windows using Copic markers.  I cut the grass layer using the MFT Grassy Hills Die-namics . I stamped, embossed and colored the images using Copic markers and cut them using my Scan 'n Cut but you can use the coordinating Lawn Cuts Fox Costumes Before 'n After.  I popped the images up using foam tape and stamped and embossed the sentiment. I did add lots of sparkle to the moon and their costumes although it is hard to see in the pics.

Have a great day :)

Big Squishy Hugs!

Hi crafty friends!! Sophie here and I am beyond excited to share my very first project for Butterfly Reflections Ink as a member of the design team! When Vanessa invited me to join the team I almost couldn't believe it and I am SO honored to work beside such a talented group of ladies.  To create my card I started out with a panel of craft cardstock that I cut with the Mama Elephant Slim Window Dressing Creative Cuts . I used the Lawn Fawn Brick Stencil to add a subtle background texture using a blending brush and Lawn Fawn Walnut Ink.   I stamped out the adorable images from the adorable Mama Elephant Big News Stamp Set  and colored them with copics, then cut them out with the coordinating dies . Here are the specific marker colors I used: Bunny: W00, W1, W3, R30, E13, E11 Elephant: C00, C1, R30, R00, E57, E55, E53 Bear: E30, E31, E33, W0, W1, W3 Balloons: YR07, YR04, R27, R24, Y17, Y15 I added a coat of Glossy Accents to the balloons and a scattering of sequins from Pretty P
Good morning crafters and card makers! Heather here today to share a slimline card that I created using some goodies from the shop! I don’t know about you, but just love ALL of the Avery Elle Peek-a-Boo critters!!  They’ve got all of these super fun accessories and I love that Vanessa stocks all of these great items in the shop!  For my card I started out by stamping a few Avery Elle images onto Strathmore Watercolor Paper .  The images I chose today are from the Polar Bear Peek-a-Boo Pals   Stamp Set (Walrus, Fox, & scarves), the Peek-a-Boo Coaster Stamp Set (the cute Owl), as well as a few bumper cars from the Peek-a-Boo Fair Stamp Set .  I stamped all of these images using Ink on 3's super cool Fade out Ink so that I could create a “no-line” coloring look. Next I went to work coloring all of the images using water color pencils and a paint brush with clean water on it. Nuvo has a variety of fun sets of Watercolor Pencils and you can find them in the shop here ,  here
