Heart and Soul

Hello, BRI fans!  Toni here today celebrating spring and all growing things. I am so glad spring is finally here and I can start to enjoy outdoor time again! For this card, I started by diecutting the Lawn Fawn Itsy Bitsy Polka Dot Backdrop out of a luscious chartreuse green color. I used Ranger Multi Medium Matte to adhere it to the card base.                        I next stamped the Pinkfresh Studio Heart and Soul image onto watercolor paper using Versafine Onyx Black . I colored this up using Zig markers. A really quick color too! Finally I stamped the sentiment using Versamark and embossed it in white. It's mounted on Scotch Foam Tape . Fairy Wishing

Hello, BRI fans! Toni here with you today! For the card background, I stamped the Mama Elephant Wishing You sentiment with Versamark and embossed it with gold. I then sponged Distress Oxide Worn Lipstick and Salty Ocean around it, placing a bit of emphasis at the bottom so there was more shadow behind the diecut. Can you see the strip of gold at the bottom as well?  I masked the card base and used Versamark to emboss more gold. Next up: the Pink Fresh Spring Floral Die . I love its folksy vibe, don't you?  I also love that it comes as a two-parter for even more versatility.  I used both parts in my card--the top left in white and the bottom sponged ombre-style with Distress Oxide Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn . I used Ranger Multi Medium Matte to adhere the intricate cut. I'm a messy crafter and MMM is a godsend as the glue dries matte and hides my messiness. :) Now time to color up a few of the Mama Elephant Little Fairy Agenda images using Copi...

Wonderland

Hi BRI friends!  Toni with you today with a couple of bold floral cards for a change of pace. The Altenew Wonderland flowers were embossed with Versamark and Ranger Gold embossing powder (my fav). I then used Lindy's Magicals to color them up. I LOVE the shimmer. Both cards feature a sentiment from Altenew Beautiful Day stamped in Versafine Onyx Black . The multi-flower card base has been masked and sponged with a repeating pattern stencil and Distress Oxide Black Soot . The other card uses a partial stencil cover plate die cut on black.  Lots of oomph but less messy for sure!  I stamped the sentiment on one of the Lawn Fawn Everyday Sentiment Banners . For a full list of ingredients and to see my other creations, go on over to my blog, Frankie Helps Craft .  Hope you have the most beautiful day!!

So Mushroom

Hello, lovelies!  Toni here with you sharing some of my favorite types of images--gnomes and fairies! I started my card by airbrushing Copics through a stencil. I love the dreamy effect. The Lawn Fawn Mushroom House nestles perfectly in the scene with the walkway. I diecut the mushroom cap out of Doodlebug Design French Kiss paper . Those tiny tiny hearts are adorable. Next I stamped the Lawn Fawn Oh Gnome and Mama Elephant Little Fairy Agenda images with Memento Tuxedo Black . I colored them up using mostly the same Copics I had used with the stencil. I add a bit of Copic shading here and there on the background as well btw. Final touches included stamping the Lawn Fawn Oh Gnome sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black and adding Clear Wink of Stella to the fairy wings. Sparkle on, little fairies! For a full list of ingredients and to see my other creations, you can check out my blog, Frankie Helps Craft .  Have a great week!

Sound the A-llama!

Hi, BRI fans!  Toni here with another fun birthday card! I don't know about you, but I LOVE a good pun (or a bad one--LOL) so absolutely had to get the Avery Elle Llamazing set.  Come on:  "Sound the A-llama"--too cute to pass up!!! I started the card by using Distress Oxides and the MFT Card-Sized Confetti Stencil  to create a fun background. I framed the card front using the Hello Bluebird Gallery Frame 1 outside diecut. Next I diecut a bunch of candles and colored them with Copics .  The llama is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and also colored with Copics.  I drew attention to the sentiment by stamping part of it in red. LOVE!  A few Pretty Pink Posh clear sequins adhered with Ranger Glossy Accents finish off the card. Check out my blog, Frankie Helps Craft , to see more of my creations.  See you soon!

Love Monkey

Hi, my lovelies!  Toni here with you sharing a Valentine card for my favorite monkey. I started the card by using a Clarity Stencil Brush and Distress Oxide Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn to stencil the leaves onto the card front. I then diecut the Lawn Fawn Polka Hearts Backdrop die. I can tell I'm going to get a lot of use out of this one!  I next sponged the card base with Distress Oxide Picked Raspberry using the negative of a heart die as a mask. I then covered the card base with Scor-Tape and laid down the card front. I sprinkled glitter over the entirety and burnished the glitter into the hearts using my finger. Such fab shine! Now the really really fun part!  I stamped the Sunny Studio Love Monkey images using Memento Tuxedo Black and colored them with Copics . They are centered on top of a Lifestyle Crafts diecut heart that I sponged with Distress Oxide Picked Raspberry and Candied Apple . I had intended to stamp the sentiment onto a ban...

Atoms and Ions

Hello, BRI fans! Toni here with you sharing a couple of cards using  MFT Cute Chemists . I studied chemistry for a couple of years in college and worked in the field later in life so this set immediately caught my eye. So cute! For this card I embossed the background using Versamark and Ranger white and red embossing powder.  I used Copic Opaque White to fill in the hearts. The sentiment is also embossed. The chalkboard effect is very cool, right? Next I stamped the girl in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored her up using the below Copics . I had made another card using  MFT Cute Chemists  set; this one with a bit more of a masculine feel. The  MFT Hearts Entwined Die  (using a small piece of Doodlebug Cream and Sugar Paper ) is the perfect backdrop for this cutie.  I colored him with the below Copics and used Versafine Onyx Black for the sentiment. The tiny hearts are stamped in Catherine Pooler Party Dress . Feel fre...

Season's Greetings!

Yay it's Tuesday!  That means it's my turn on the blog.  I have been eyeing these super cute stamps by Hello Bluebird since I saw sneaks of them.  Truly.  I told Vanessa that these were a must have.  I was right.  Let's get to the instructions on how I made this card. First I made an A2 card base with white cardstock.  I then took a piece of 110 lb white cardstock and blended Dried Marigold, Spun Sugar and Dusty Concord Oxide Inks to create the background.  I trimmed down the background to 3 3/4 x5"and adhered it to the card base.  Next I stamped the cute images from North Pole Littles  with Gina K Amalgam Ink , colored them with copic markers and used the coordinating North Pole Littles Dies to cut them out.   I used Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillsid e dies to create a snowbank out of white cardstock which I trimmed and adhered to the card.   Using thin foam adhesive squares I adhered all the cute images t...

Autumn Greetings

Hello!  It's Andrea with you today.  I'm so excited to be joining the amazing design team for Butterfly Reflections, Ink!  I just love Vanessa (She is a riot!), and her product selection and customer service can't be beat! Fall is in the air here, and I couldn't be happier about that!  I love waking up to crisp mornings and seeing all of the beautiful colors of fall (The leaves have just started to turn a bit here.) and eating all things pumpkin (My daughter and I made some yummy pumpkin muffins last weekend.)!  When I saw this gorgeous Succulent Pumpkin stamp by Impression Obsession , I knew I had to have it.  It was just screaming to be watercolored! I stamped that gorgeous bouquet onto some Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Paper with Versafine Smokey Gray ink .  Normally, I stamp my watercolored images with Onyx Black, but I wanted a softer look.  Although I stamped the image twice, I had not planned on making two cards.  One was g...

You are Different...

Hello BRI Friends, Waleska from  craftinglovew  today, with my official last post as a DT member for Butterfly Reflections Ink....I have to say I enjoyed every single minute of it... Thank you for stopping by and share with me this cardmaking journey I love so much. For my last card I wanted to share one of my favorite sentiments that reminds me that everyone is different, and we need to love and accept everyone.   CARD DETAILS:  For this card I used the  Unicorn Wishes Reverse Confetti  stamp set and the  Avery Elle Star Frame Elle-ments , (hurry because there is a limited quantity of this two at the shop).  I started by stamping the unicorn and star with  Versafine Onyx Black Ink  and  Super Fine Clear Embossing Powder .  I also stamped some parts of the unicorn in  Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Rainbow paper , cut and glue those parts to give the plaid details to the unicorn and star. For the ...

Holy Guacamole... New Mom!!!

Hello BRI Friends Waleska here with a set of very funny, encouraging and cute cards, because ALL moms need to feel loved sometimes. (ALWAYS).  Check out the new stamps we have at the shop from  Krumspring Stamps  they are awesome and unique! CARD DETAILS: I started with the backgrounds, I made a heart shape mask with a  Heart Die  and  Stick It Adhesive Sheets .  I used Lawn Fawn inks in colors  Merman  and  Ballet Slippers  for the inside part of the heart I blend the two colors with an  Ink Blending Tool . I arrange and stamped the  Avocado Family  to the front part of the cards because I wanted the little hands to be stamped in different layers.  I wanted to give this cards some texture and I used  Embossing Folders  to create that. I stamped with  Versafine Onyx Black Ink  all the images and colored them with markers. I hand cut all the cute avocados and pl...

Alligator Birthday Card

Hi there, friends! It's Rebekah here to day to share with you this cute little card using the Reverse Confetti  Later Alligator  stamp set! I automatically think this set would lean more towards a boy's card but I wanted to stretch it a bit and use the small bow and birthday cake stamps to make it a card more suitable for a girl! This seems to be a 'go-to' card design for me lately when I have stamp set I want to use but am not sure what to do for a design. Its also perfect for doing major coloring therapy! All I did was stamp the alligator randomly on a white card panel and color each one with Copic markers. I wanted the alligators to really pop so I added a touch of a cool gray outline around each one. I filled in between with the bow stamp and colored them pink. I then cut the circles from the  Lacy Scllope Circle Dies   and the Pop Up Circle Dies  from Reverse Confetti. In the smaller circle I stamped the birthday cake stamp on top of each other ...

Guest Designer Sunday with Sarah Jay

Hello and good morning! Today we have the pleasure to introduce our April Guest designer, Sarah Jay! She's an incredible paper crafter and illustrator! Her designs are amazing and I just LOVE her clean and simple cards with her incredible attention to detail! They are inspiring! Be sure to read on to learn a little more about her and to she her AMAZINGLY cute card! _________________________________________________ Hi there!  My name is Sarah Jay and I love making all kinds of things, but especially paper crafts. I've been stamping and making cards for more than 15 years. And blogging at Criminal Grace for almost as long! While I live in beautiful Northern California with my husband and two children, and have spent more than a decade in the Boston area, I'm really a Michigander at heart. I left the 9-to-5 behind to stay with our kids a few years ago, and, while keeping up with them is a challenge most days, it has given me more flexibility to design stamps and sa...

From First Glimpse

Greetings to you and thank you for stopping by the BRI Blog! If you have been buried in snow for the recent week, I hope the power has remained on and you have been able to keep warm. All that snow is beautiful, but it sure causes a struggle! Janette here giving you a sneak peek of the card I made for my Valentine. I have been married to my one and only for 20 years. Even though we take comfort in being by each other's side, a gentle reminder of one's love is always of value. This card was simple, albeit a bit time consuming to make. I stamped the entire A2 sized card stock with the umbrella from the My Favorite Things All Heart stamp set . Originally, there are heart shaped rain drops attached to the umbrella, but I easily trimmed those off and set them aside. To achieve this dimensional effect, start with the umbrella you want in the front and stamp it first. Then, mask it and continue to stamp the rest from bottom to the top. [TIP: Full Adhesive Post-It notes make fo...

Many Thank Yous with Heather

Good morning! Heather here, stopping by this morning to share some thank you cards I made with some new goodies I just received in the mail from Butterfly Reflections Ink .  It's also just a few days until the brand new Design Team gals take over - so I wanted to say a BIG thank you to Vanessa as well - I have so enjoyed my time on the team, and am forever a loyal Butterfly Reflections customer! I love the constant update of new stuff in the shop, the quick shipping, and the amazing personal touches - the little handwritten note on the packing slip always makes me smile! If you haven't shopped with Butterfly Reflections before, you definitely want to give it a try - I promise you will be glad you did! :-) So...on to my cards! I had a request for some thank you cards recently, so I thought I would pick a simple layout that would work with them all, and just change each one slightly to make them unique. They needed to be somewhat neutral, so not too feminine - which alw...
