You Are So Sweet

Hello everyone and happy August! It's Ashley today with a card featuring the cutest little bunny! Look how adorable he is with his cookie! I started by stamping the pile of cookies from Evelin T. Designs Coffee Loving Critters in Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink on my card and a piece of masking paper . I cut out my mask and covered the cookies before stamping the other three images onto my card with the Jet Black ink. I created masks for those images and covered them as well so I could ink blend my background. I used Post It tape to mask off the bottom part of my card with a straight line. I grabbed my blender brushes to keep the colors soft and blended Lawn Fawn inks in Minty Fresh , Mermaid , and Deep Sea around my images. When my blending looked how I wanted, I removed the masks and colored my images with Copic markers . I trimmed an eighth of an inch off of each side and added some stitching using the second biggest die in the Lawn Fawn Just Stitching Double Rectan...

You Mandala My Day

Hi Everyone! It's Jenny here, and I'm so excited to be guest designing on the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog again!  Today I have a clean and simple card that uses a couple of fun but impactful techniques. I die cut the My Favorite Things Magical Mandala  Dienamics from 100lb cardstock three times and adhered them together using spray adhesive (I used Krylon).  Have fun popping out all the little pieces! ;)  I covered the die cut stacked mandala in Versamark clear embossing ink on the top side and added a layer of embossing powder.  The embossing powder I used here is a copper green and gold mix, but you can literally use any type of embossing powder for this look and BRI carries lots!  (I'm very excited about getting the  Brutus Monroe Pink Champagne right now!) I added Versamark over the cooled embossing powder and added another layer.  I kept it at two layers only to avoid losing the detail in the mandala. If you are using fine...

Best Fishes To You

Hey all! I am so excited to share this card with you. As you've probably noticed I am usually a pretty CAS kind of guy. But today I've managed to create a scene card! I know- shocking! It is still pretty simple but there's, like, layers and stuff. How cool?! Check it out- I used the newly released Eskimo Kisses from Heffy Doodle. This is a newer company and my very first stamp set from them. I am very impressed. I created a little underwater scene with a trio of blue Distress Inks and some light stamping of some fishes. Then I layered on a piece of vellum that looks like snow and ice. I think it looks soooo cool! Then I added the little Eskimo man and his fishing rod and used twine as a fishing line. I also stamped a ice hole and fishing hook in black. A punny sentiment completed this (simple) scene.

Seal-ed with a Kiss

Hey, guys! It’s Kevin here sharing another winter card with you all today! I️ may be the odd one out when it comes to winter, but I️ love it. All the snow, cozy clothes and of course- these critters!   I️ just can’t get enough of the Polar Pals Stamp set from MFT. I️ love coloring them up in different ways, today I️ used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I’ve done a lot previously with them and water, but this time I️ just used a couple shades of each color to get a blend- sorta like Copics. A simple stamped background and a strip of festive green paper along with a punny sentiment pulled this card together fairly quickly. But most CAS are quick once you figure out the design. I️ toyed with adding the ice or more trees but figured I’d stick to my go-to CAS style. Hope you like it and found some ins-brrrr-ation! Have a great weekend!!

Hello There

Hi friends! Guess what? I'm back...WITH FLOWERS - utterly shocking eh? I saw THIS card by Kay recently and had saved it to use in the future. I had this large piece of water color smooshed distress ink paper just sitting on my desk so I set to work putting it to use! I splattered on some various paints watered down, all from Hobby Lobby (black, white, gold). I then taped down the MFT Circle Burst Stencil off center and applied various oxide inks: worn lipstick, fired brick & abandoned coral, but I couldn't stop there! I sponged on some mother of pearl Nuvo Mousse (which really muted all those pretty colors I had added - HA)! I then cut down the large panel to this small one and embossed a couple scribble flowers and colored using Zig Clean Color Brushes. Once dry, I splattered on more watered down white paint. I also already had these Layered Leaves - looks like 3 layers glued together - and adhered everything to the main panel. Sneak peek on the inside ...

Hippo Birdie to you...and you...and you...AND ME!

How special is that - I get to post on my BIRTHDAY - my favorite holiday of the year! :D Yes, I'm really that crazy about my birthday. HA! And of course, I thought it best to make some birthday cards - no, I promise I'm not sending one to myself! I found these super CAS card samples online, but sadly it was just a photo and didn't link back to the original post, so if you are reading this and you made cards JUST LIKE THIS with polka dot paper, speak up, I'd love to give you credit for the inspiration! I stamped out all the images on Copic paper, die cut and colored with Copics. I also die cut all the other pieces - patterned paper, vellum, and wonky circle. These were soooo easy to create; once everything was colored, I embossed the sentiment on vellum and assembled everything layering onto a white card base. So fun and so simple and a great way to use up scrap paper! Thanks for stopping by; hope your day is spectacular! Hugs! WHAT'S IT TAK...

More bright & bold Hope

Hi friends - still loving WPlus9 flowers and the HOPE  set from Concord and 9th! :D Kinda like last week's card huh? As sometimes happens, I had a card 80% done and then changed my path - I'll still finish the other card, but that will probably be next week...and yes, IT HAS FLOWERS. HA! I stamped and embossed the beautiful mum set from WPlus9 and sprinkled on Pixie Paint Candy - but before it could spread too far, I quickly blotted it with a baby wipe and just love the splotchy look. I stamped the word HOPE in two MFT inks then added some more Copic shading. The additional sentiment was stamped in Hero Arts Black. I cut the panel from MFT Blueprints, mounted on some Mermaid paper which I embossed with a Cuttlebug folder and swiped on some Hero Arts Unicorn ink. Easy peasy...and quick! Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a GREAT week! Hugs! WHAT'S IT TAKE? Stamps : WPlus9  Beautiful Bouquet: Mums , Concord and 9th  Hope Papers : Nee...

HOPE

Hi friends-happy, happy hump day! <yes, insert camel voice> Can you believe we have come to the end of June? Insane, just crazy. BUT that means July is just around the corner and that's my BIRTHDAY MONTH - well, kind of birthday quarter actually! I celebrate B-I-G and I let everyone know. ;) #annoying But that's not what we're here for today...but I thought a heads up would be good. LOL I created this super fun card with lots of different products (links below) and I kinda love how it turned out. I started off using the MFT Sun Ray stencil and sponged on some broken china - very lightly. I die cut the word HOPE from some card stock and used it as a stencil creating an ombre look, black at the bottom fading to a lighter gray towards the top. Once complete, I stamped the Kind Soul flowers in Hero Arts Black and colored with a myriad of Copics. Once finished, I outlined the image with a fine tip Sharpie. I wanted to keep the card very simple, so I di...

Bold Lovely Hello

Hi there friends! Crysta l here today with a simple card featuring Concord & 9th, Altenew & Pretty Pink Posh.  The colors on this card were an inspiration from this week's Flag day. I recently purchased A ltenew Artist Markers Set A as I loved the brush tip on them, and the colors are perfect for color layering and blending. So with this in mind, I select Concord & 9th Hello Lovely image to color! To make this, I stamped the Concord & 9th Hello Lovely floral & sentiment on to a white piece of card stock using Altenew Ink in Jet Black . The entire floral piece was colored with Altenew Artist Marker Set.  Next, I added gold thread and gorgeous Metallic Gold sequins from Pretty Pink Posh . To finish the card I placed it on red card stock and added details with a white Signo pen.   This card is ready to be sent out, I loved how bold the colors are, and yet it turned out elegant. Thanks for stopping by today! Crystal

Masculine ampersand

:D I just loved using this ampersand symbol for a graphic masculine wedding card - it's a unique wedding, so I thought we'd stray a bit from the normal wedding card you might think about! The wedding is a self proclamation wedding; I had never heard of one until last week - see, you learn something new all the time! I stamped, 2nd generation, the  watercolor background stripes from Right at Home in MFT Grout Gray; then I added multiple ampersand signs in Steel Grey, Grout Gray, Berrylicious and Blu Raspberry . I stamped the "Celebrate" from Right at Home's Script Greetings in Steel Grey, then embossed the additional sentiment on Hawaiian Shores with Ranger white embossing powder . I felt it got a little lost, so I mounted it on a strip of MFT Black and White designer pape r and a small strip of white striped acetate. I finished the inside off with a 'Mr. & Mrs.', 'Congratulations' sentiment and carried that over to the envelo...

Altenew + Nuvo Mousse

Hi friends - it's HUMP day!! Welcome back! This week I have a simple CAS card inspired by one of the cards in  THIS  post. I stamped the Altenew largest peony on Ranger Watercolor paper and embossed; I wanted to keep the card very clean so I only added the 2nd layer stamp to the image - same with the leaves. Once they were stamped, I die cut and added shading with Prismacolor pencils. I created a frame for the flower with two of the MFT stitched dies then added a layer of Nuvo Platinum Mousse colored with Lawn Fawn Sugar Plum - IT IS SOOOO SPARKLY!! Once it dried, I added some additional ink around the bottom edges of the frame for a bit of an ombre look. I then added a heavy layer of shimmer mist to the flower and leaves before adhering everything together. I finished it off with some sparkling sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and some ombre purple paper inside! Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a GREAT week - see you again soon! Hugs! WHAT'S IT TAKE?...

Hello there...you're so lovely!

Hi friends - happy hump day; hope you are having a great week! I was so inspired by THIS card that I used it as my inspiration for today's creation...and the colors at Color Throwdown (below). I used the MFT scalloped die to cut the edge of Copic paper, embossed some flowers and leaves from the Hero Arts You're So Lovely set, then sponged on distress ink in Peacock Feathers and Twisted Citron. Once complete I added droplets of water, let them set for a bit then soaked them up with a paper towel. I stamped the sentiment in Lawn Fawn black several times and finished it off with some yellow Nuvo drops and Pretty Pink Posh sequins. Pretty clean and simple, I love the color combo. Thanks for visiting, see you again soon! Hugs, WHAT'S IT TAKE? Stamps : Hero Arts  You're So Lovely , MFT More Essential Sentiments , PTI Round and Round Papers :  Copic , PTI Hawaiian Shores (inside), Neenah 110 lb. white I Ink :  VesaMark , Lawn Fawn   Black , Hero ...

So Cool

Hi there friends! Crystal here with a "cool" card (no pun intended) made with Sunny Studio Perfect Popsicle. This Popsicle was screaming to be paired with Glossy Accents . Therefore I left the stamped imaged be the focus of this card. I decided to make a set of these as the sentiment was just super versatile. To make these, I stamped the Popsicle in 3 inks from Altenew in the following order Buttercream, Warm Sunshine and Caramel Toffee. Then I fuzzy cut and adhere them to the base of the card. The sentiment is stamped in Hero Arts Cup'O Joe. Of course we can't forget the glossy accents. On one card I placed the accents on the entire Popsicle and the other was just embellished with it. Both cards were embellished with Pretty Pink Posh Clear Confetti and Honey Bee Stamps diamonds. The background patterned paper is from Lawn Fawn. That is it for us today! Thanks for stopping by and  I hope you get some crafty time this weekend. Stay Cool! ...
