Home for the Holidays with Pinkfresh Studios

Hi everyone! I can't believe this is my last blog post as part of the Butterfly Reflections, Ink design team! I've had so much fun over the last few months being a part of this team and I'm sad to see it come to an end. I know Vanessa will pick and amazing team to take over and I can't wait to see all their creations. For today's card, I'm getting into the holiday spirit with the latest release from  Pinkfresh Studio . I was obsessed with the  Cityscape Die  from the moment I first saw it. I used it with the  Home for the Holidays Stamp Set  to make the sweetest little Christmas scene. They also have a  Day in the City Stamp Set  which goes with the  Cityscape Die  for every day cards without a holiday flare. I started with cutting the  Cityscape Die  out of Bristol Smooth card stock since I knew I was going to be doing some ink blending over the die cut panel. I then stamped all the images using my  MISTI ...

You're Otterly Amazing!

Happy Wednesday! It's Lindsay here on the Butterfly Reflections, Ink blog.  Hello Bluebird  has a new Fall/Halloween themed release coming out today, so I'm celebrating with sharing a card using products from their previous release. For this card, I have used their  Otter Friends Stamp  and  Die Set  and  Gallery Frame Die #2 .  I started with a piece of Bristol Smooth Cardstock and ink blended it with  Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink ,  Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Ink , and  Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide Ink . I then sprayed it with water to make the ink blended piece look more "oceany".  Once it was dry, I used the  Gallery Frame Die #2  to die cut the background. I wanted to add more die cuts to allow for the otters and greenery to sit inside the waves, so I cut the top and bottom pieces from the inside of the frame using  Mama Elephant Ocean Waves Trio Dies . Below is a closer picture ...

Pinkfresh Studios Christmas in August!

Hi everyone! Lindsay here on the Butterfly Reflections, Ink blog today. Now I know, it's normally Christmas in July, but I just recently got some of the cutest sets from  Pinkfresh Studios  and I just have to share them. I mean, it's never too early for cardmakers to get started on Christmas cards, right!? For my first Christmas card of the season, I used  Pinkfresh Studio's   Merry and Bright Toy Shop Stamp Set  and the coordinating  Merry and Bright Toy Shop Die.  This die creates an adorable store front in which you can place all of the wonderful elements from the stamp set. It also leaves you with a great space for a bold sentiment, also included in the stamp set. Before die cutting, I inked up a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of white card stock with  Walnut Stain Distress Oxide Ink  using a  Mini Ink Blending Tool  over the entire panel. After die cutting the  Merry and Bright Toy Shop Die , I used a  Detaile...

Sliding Window Die Card with Sunny Studio

Happy Wednesday! It's Lindsay here on the Butterfly Reflections, Ink blog. When I first saw this  Sliding Window Die  from Sunny Studio I knew I had to have it! I haven't delved too much in to interactive cards, but this seemed like a really good place to start. I used the  Home Sweet Gnome Stamp Set  from Sunny Studios for this card since I'm slowly getting in to the fall spirit. Here in Hawaii it's hot as usual, but we are moving to Oregon this month so I'm excited to have a cool, festive fall season this year! I started with stamping out the images from  Home Sweet Gnome Stamp Set  with  Amalgam Ink  from Gina K Designs and colored them with  Copic Markers . I then die cut them using the  Coordinating Dies  and set them aside while I worked on the rest of the card. I started the card assembly with the  Gingham Jewel Tones 6x6 Paper Pad  from Sunny Studios. I really feel that their jewel tone paper ...

Hello Bluebird Moose and Friends

Hello Butterfly Reflection Inkers! Lindsay Lajola here on the blog today with a fun new stamp set in the latest release from  Hello Bluebird . The stamp set I'm using is called  Moose and Friends  and I also used the  coordinating die cuts  to cut out my images.  I stamped all of my images using my  Mini MISTI  with  Memento Tuxedo Black  ink, which is copic marker safe. When I first get a new stamp set, I like to stamp all the images and color them all, just to get a feel for all the stamp set has to offer. Today, I used almost all of the images on this card, because they're all just so cute I couldn't leave anyone out! I decided to color the "Hooray" balloons in rainbow order using my stash of  copic markers  and added some  Glossy Accents  over the letters with a precision tip  to make them look more three dimensional. I did this with all the balloons in the scene as well. For the back...

Back to Basics! Stamping with The Stamp Market and Catherine Pooler Inks

Hi all! Lindsay Lajola here on the blog today. I recently purchased some Catherine Pooler  Inks from the Butterfly Reflections, Ink store and I couldn't be more excited about them. I ordered the colors from the Spa Collection: Zen Garden and used them on these cards today. I loved them so much that I just placed another order for the Party Collection: Life of the Party ink pads as well. Vanessa has all of them in her store along with all of the refills so you're all set! I also ordered a bunch of geometric stamps from  The Stamp Market  in order to make colorful, structured backgrounds. For this card I used  Patterned Polka Dot Stamp Set  from The Stamp Market along with  Shea Butter CP Ink ,  Seafoam CP Ink , and  Midnight CP Ink . I stamped the circles overlapping and flowing from one corner diagonally to the other corner and added in the "X" stamps for some additional interest. The inks stamp really nicely, even with solid images and c...

July Mood Board Inky Inspirations

Happy Wednesday, everyone! Hope your week is going well! Today I went a little crazy with the AWESOME July Mood Board from Butterfly Reflections, Ink and made a ton of cards with that as my inspiration. In case you haven't seen it, here's the mood board for this month. Loving it, right?! So for today's post, I'm going to start talking about all of the different inks I used. I wanted to make a variety of cards with a variety of techniques so I chose  Distress Oxide Inks  (with one regular distress ink in there, too), Hero Arts Dye Inks, and new to me,  Catherine Pooler  Inks. Below is a picture with all of the colors that I chose. Let's start with the  Catherine Pooler  inks,  Stone Blue,   Skylight ,  Polished , and  Rose Petals . As I said, this was my first time using these inks and I was SO EXCITED because so many people say wonderful things about them. And let me tell you, they're all true! I really appreciate that y...

Nuvo Glimmer Paste with Distress Ink Blending

Happy 4th of July, everyone! It's Lindsay here on the Butterfly Reflections, Ink blog. I hope that everyone in the U.S. is having a nice holiday. I should have done a red, white, and blue themed card, but I didn't think ahead so you're getting a glittery and flowery card instead. I hope that's okay! :) We can pretend that the  Tonic Studios Nuvo Glimmer Paste  is like fireworks... right?! Anyway, let's get started on the card.    I have a new obsession and it's involving  Nuvo Glimmer Paste  and any stencil that is on hand. For this particular card, I used  Moonstone Glimmer Paste  which is awesome to layer over ink blended backgrounds. For this, I used  Salty Ocean  and Tumbled Glass Distress Inks that I blended with  mini ink blending tools  onto Bristol Smooth Card stock. Here you can see the ink blending a little bit better. After the ink blending was dry, I used the  Hero Arts Abstract Wave Stencil ...

Tropical Birthday Card with WPlus9

Happy Wednesday! Lindsay here on the Butterfly Reflections, Ink blog today with a card using some of the newer products from  WPlus9  to make a summery, tropical birthday card.  I started off this card by stamping the background stamp from the  Tropic Fever Stamp Set  using  Versafine Onyx Black Ink  onto Neenah Solar White 80# card stock. I first treated the card stock with  an anti-static powder tool  as the plan was to emboss the background as I'm going for an ultra-shiny card design today. So after stamping the background I used  Brutus Monroe Icicle Embossing Powder  all over the image and heat set it. I then cut down to card base to 4" by 5.25" to leave a border around the edge which I backed with black card stock cut to A2 size. For the main image, I used  WPlus9 Hibiscus Bouquet , stamped with  Memento Tuxedo Black Ink  as it's a  Copic Marker  safe ink. I colored the images using R2...
