Snow Globe Mini Shaker Cards!

Hey crafty friends! It's  Julia  here - long time no see! I am super happy to be back on the blog with this fun snow globe mini shaker card duo!  First I stamped my images from Lawn Fawn's  Ready Set Snow , Super Star ,  Mice on Ice , Dandy Day and Baaah Humbug  onto Transotype Perfect Coloring paper and colored them in using  Copic Markers .   To create my little shakers I used the  Ready Set Snow Shaker Add-On . I stamped the snow globe from the stamp set and die cut it with the frame die and again from fun foam. I die cut the snowy background and the hill from white cardstock and ink blended the background with Villainous Potion and Milled Lavender Distress Oxide ink.  Then I used a card base and lined the outside shape die up with the top edge making sure to leave a little gap between the cutting edge at the top. That way I ended up with perfectly shaped card bases for my snow globes! Then it was already time to assemble!  I...

Mother's Day card

Hi Everyone!  I'm sharing this Mother's Day card using inspiration from this month's gorgeous mood board!  To start, I die cut a long piece of Bristol cardstock for my background using the slimline dies from Trinity stamps.  For the sky, I ink blended the following distress oxide colors (top to bottom): wilted violet , seedless preserves , picked raspberry , victorian velvet .  I splattered some water to create some interest to the background.  The background was then cut using the stitched cloud backdrop die.   The clouds were cut from vellum and white cardstock using the cloud die from the foursquare backdrop set .  I used the forest border die , stitched hillsides and stitched waves to create the rest of my scene.   Images from the following sets were used: mom and me , swan soiree,   oh gnome , butterfly kisses ,  gleeful gardens , and a bug deal .  The images were stamped using black ink and co...

Mom, I Love You S'More!

Hello everyone! It's Ashley Ebben with my first ever Design Team post! I'm so happy to meet you! I am thrilled to be joining the design team at Butterfly Reflections, Ink with such talented ladies! And of course, I'm super excited to share my cards with you all on Fridays! Mother's Day is this weekend in the US, so I thought I would share a cute card for anyone who needs a bit of last minute inspiration before Sunday. I decided to use Lawn Fawn products to create a special card for my mom. I originally got the idea for this card from the Lawn Fawn Love You S'More set as well as from a game my mom and I used to play when I was little. We would always argue back and forth, "I love you more!" "No, I love you more!" I started by blending some Lawn Fawn Mermaid Ink in the middle of a piece of white cardstock and splattered a bit of gold watercolor across it. I cut a 3/8" strip from Lawn Fawn Mermaid cardstock for the sentiment. I l...

Thank You Fairy Much

Hello crafty friends (and a goodbye for now too!!) Well, it's here - my last blog post for my DT term here at Butterfly Reflections Ink! It's been great fun, thanks so much for the support and I will hopefully see you every now and again for a post here and there!! As mother's day is on it's way (hope you have all left your crafty wish lists in strategic places so the family can see what you want!!! - or they can just get you a voucher from Vanessa at BRI hehe!!) I used this cuter than cute stamp & die set from Avery Elle - Pixie Dust .  I had a fun - concept in mind of how Mums are the "cleaning fairy", "cooking fairy", "washing fairy" etc - just a thank you to the "fairy" in your household! Had to put a little interactive slider element into it too so she could fly!   To make this card, I started by cutting a stitched rectangle and sponging it with Distress Oxide inks - tattered Rose & Worn Lips...

Mother’s Day Watercoloring

Hello Crafty friends! I'm so inspired to try new things by what I see on Insta, Pinterest and Youtube on a daily basis and I'm sure many of you are the same. This week, I was totally inspired by a beautifully soft watercoloured card by Dawn Waleslagle (who is the founder of WPlus9) and I though this look would translate well to some subtle but special cards for Mother's Day which is just around the corner for many of us. Its the perfect opportunity to use the WPlus products Happy Mail and Strictly Sentiments 4!   (bonus is they are both on sale at Butterfly reflections inc! at the time of writing this blog post). Wplus9 stamps have delicate, fine-lined images - perfect for that light whimsical feel. The stamp styles totally complement the softness of watercolouring!  I'll admit....I'm not an avid water-colourer, but have to say this was fun and easier that you think! I used Tim Holts Distress Watercolour paper and guided by Dawn's tech...

Lucky Duckling

Good Morning, Alix here to say Hi and bye "temporarily". I had a great time spending last four months hanging out with everyone here. This is my last card for Spring Design Team term. But I will be back sometimes to the blog and show you guys more of my crafting experiments and adventures! Today's card is all about how grateful for us to have our moms. I used multiple Lawn Fawn stamp sets. Lawn Fawn Rub-A-Dub-Dub stamp set for ducklings, Lawn Fawn Mermaid for you stamp set for you for rocks, Lawn Fawn Toadally Awesome stamp set for grasses, Lawn Fawn Happy Village stamp set for the house, trees, clouds and sun. I colored all images with copic markers and set aside. To build a scene, I wanted to create a lovely and calm scene of Mommy duck taking all kids to river playing while sun was just rising up. After getting some references photos from Internet, I hand drew a river outline on Tim holtz Distress watercolor paper and cut it out. I grabbed anoth...

The Beauty of Mom

Happy Saturday! One of the most unfair things in the world is how Mother's Day seems to literally creep up on me every.single.year. Considering how much my own mother means to me and how underappreciated moms are in general, I'd say it's pretty much criminal to let the day get shoved to the dark corners of our minds. My sweet sister seems to come through for all of us every year and always manages to think of something so appropriate and wonderful for us to do for Mom. This year she had a little help from my brother in law, which was extra special! If I'm needing to create something beautiful enough to give to a mother, the stamp set of choice is clearly the WPlus9 Freehand Florals stamp set .  I think I own almost every floral set that Dawn has produced. They are so lovely and so easy to customize for any type of project! I stamped my blue floral images on white cardstock using Hero Arts Bold Summer Sky hybrid ink . Because blue was the primary color, I wan...

Hello Mom!

Hi friends - I am SO excited to be a part of the Butterfly Reflections design team, so very excited! My boss requested a mother's day card, I said "what colors are you thinking"; he stared at me blankly for a solid minute and said "she wears black, that's all she wears"; well me too buddy, so we can do this! ;) I made sure the background had some fun black (actually light AND dark gray) going on using a stencil and added lots of color and dimension to the gorgeous flowers from Concord and 9th, Hello Lovely  set. The image was embossed twice, once on Ranger water color paper and once on Copic card stock for the pieces cut to add dimension. The image was colored with Tombow makers and a water brush . I splashed on lots of color from various inks watered down slightly. Fun, messy and colorful - I used a WPlus9 set for the inside and some washi tape to finish it off. Thanks for stopping by; have a GREAT hump day! Hugs, WHAT'S I...

Happy Mother's Day

Hello there, friends! It is officially my last post for Butterfly Reflections, Ink . I have thoroughly enjoyed creating inspiration for you, here. Today, I created a card for Mother's Day, using a lovely Winnie & Walter stamp set called In Bloom: Anna's Flora . I have used this set so many times, and it is surely a classic floral stamp set that everyone needs in there collection. I began by stamping a flower, leaves, and a sprig around the edges of the card. I chose the daisy, as it's my mom's favorite flower, and colored all of the images with Copic Markers. I then stamped the large Happy from The Big, the Bold, and Happy , using black ink in the center. I continued my sentiment below using Versamark ink, and gold embossing powder. I took all of the stamps I used, and stamped over my originally stamped images a bit offset using Versamark, and sprinkled gold powder over everything. I then heat set it, making sure to have pre heat my tool so it was ...

Mother's Day Dahlias

Good morning!   Jess  here with a cheery watercolored Mother's Day card using the new Beautiful Bouquet: Dahlia stamp from WPlus9 and Mom+Me sentiments from Lawn Fawn! I started off by using my Mini Misti to stamp the Dahlia Bouquet twice on a piece of watercolor paper with versamark .  I offset it both times and used a larger section of the stamp for one side to give it more visual interest.  I heat-embossed it with Gold Tinsel embossing glitter and then it was time to color!  I used six Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and a waterbrush to color the flowers.  The larger flower is colored with Carmine Red and the smaller flowers are colored with a mix of Carmine Red and Dark Pink.  The larger leaves are colored with Green, the smaller leaves with May Green, and the background with very watered down Cobalt Blue.  For the leaves and flowers, I added pigment to the paper and blended it out with a waterbrush .  For the background I ...

Happy Mother's Day

Hello! Rubeena here with a card featuring Altenew and WPlus9 products. Mother's Day will be here before you know it so I got started on the cards early. This was so simple and did not take up too much time! I stamped two of the images from Altenew's Persian Motifs onto vellum and heat embossed it in gold. With watercolor markers, I colored on the back side of the images so that they created a light look. I colored some on the front to give part of it a darker look. Then I used the Persian Motifs dies to cut them out. I positioned them onto the cardstock so I could figure out where I would stamp the sentiment. Once I decided on that, I used the "Happy Mother's Day" sentiment from WPlus9's Strictly Sentiments 4 . I just LOVE the script font from their sets. I stamped it in Versamark and heat embossed it in gold. I added the images with small pieces of foam tape to give it dimension. Instead of sequins, I decided to use Irresistable Pico Embellis...
