You're my Love Bug - By Lorena

Hello everyone! Today I am back on the blog, to show you a card that I have prepared using the colors of the Moodboard that they propose for May! All the products I have used are available in the store  Butterfly Reflections Ink! This month we propose in the Moodboard some vibrant colors, which I do not usually use in my cards, I love pastel tones! But... I have loved to get out of my comfort zone, and use these cheerful and vibrant colors!! For the base of the card I used the Three Hearts die of Avery elle, which I had not used yet! And to fill the bottom of the hearts I have used the distress oxide Spun Sugar ink. Then I stained the whole card with distress oxide inks, mixed with water... (My God, I didn't like doing this, but now... I love it!😂😂😂) To make this background, I have used the colors:  Seedless Preserves ,  Peacock Feathers  and  Twisted Citron . The stamps I have used for this card are Love Bugs  of Reverse Confetti, Can there...

Sending Sunshine and Happy Thoughts

Hello! Samantha here, and today I'm sharing this fun, happy and adorable card that was inspired by this month's Mood Board ! You can read all about the details here of how to play along here! Aren't those colors gorgeous? I love the bold, richness of the dark colors. So inviting! I thought it would be perfect to use the adorable little Dragon Love stamp set from Avery Elle! Once everything was colored, I used the coordinating dies to die cut it out! And I used the greens to color him up! So cute! For the background, I used Distress Oxide Inks in Seedless Preserves and Milled Lavender to ink blend! Then I used the Picket Studios Slimline Rainbows stencil and the same colors, but with more pressure, to add the tone on tone rainbows to the background! I die cut out some clouds with Newton's Nook Designs' Sky Borders Die Set from white cardstock. then I heat embossed the sentiment from the Look for Rainbows stamp set from Avery Elle . I love how this card came out...

My Flamazing Friend

Hello and happy new year! Samantha here, and today I'm happy to share a card inspired by the brand new, gorgeous Butterfly Reflections Ink mood board ! I hope you love it as much as I do, and if so, play along! All of the details can be found by clicking here ! I love the colors, and wintery, nostalgic feeling of it! Which is super ironic...given that my card isn't nostalgic...or wintery! ha! I do still love it though!I used the cute, adorable images from Paperie Inks Fla La La Mingo stamp set ! Love those cute little mingos! Lol! I colored them in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and fussy cut them out! I used Distress Inks in Chipped Sapphire , Blueprint Sketch and Mermaid Lagoon to ink blend onto some white cardstock. Then I used the Newton's Nook Tropical Leaves Stencil and the same colors (but with more pressure!) to add the subtle, tone on tone stencil effect! Once the background was ready, I used some gold Perfect Pearls and water to add the gold splatte...

Such a Flamazing Day

Hello! Samantha here, and today I'm sharing this fun, summer card featuring a mix of Avery Elle and Lawn Fawn products! Love it! I used the super adorable images from the Flamazing stamp set by Avery Elle ! That little guy just cracks me up! He's so cute! I colored in the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then used the coordinating dies to die cut them out! Couldn't be easier! To create the background, I used Distress Inks in Mowed Lawn , Twisted Citron and Pine Needles to ink blending starting in one corner. Then, I placed the Tropical Leaves Background Stencil on top, and used the same colors to ink blend through the stencil on top! I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto some black cardstock , and placed it on the side of the card, for a little fun! Hopefully you're enjoying your summer like this swimming flamingo! Enjoy! ~ Samantha

Here for You Card

Well hello there! Samantha here, and today I am sharing a card that was inspired by the August Mood Board ! Swoon! Am I right? I love these color soooo much, who knew!? lol! I used alcohol inks to create the background! I honestly just love playing with alcohol inks !! I wanted the background to stand out, so I used die cut that beautiful rainbow with the Rainbow Elle-ments die from Avery Elle out of vellum for the images, and then attached them all to some clear acetate! Then I used my sewing machine to stitch it to the card base! Those bright purples and magenta just pop! Next, I stamped the flowers and leaves from the Sending Flowers stamp set ! I colored them all with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, and then used the coordinating dies to die cut them out! I added the colors in the soft blues and muted greens to bring in the other colors from the mood board. Lastly, I used some white embossing paste and the Falling Leaves Stencil from Newton's Nook to add some more leaf...

Time for a Luau!

Hi there! Samantha here, and today I'm sharing a fun card for the weekend using the most adorable Avery Elle stamps! I was also inspired by the June 2021 Mood Board ! Ok, fine, I forgot to use the beautiful royal blue, but the rest of the colors were the total jumping off point of my card! but it's all about inspiration, right? So, here's my card! I used the Luau Party stamp set from Avery Elle , those hula critters are just the sweetest! I happened to fussy cut out the images, but you could use the coordinating dies to die cut them out, and save you some time! I also used the Speech Bubbles stamp set to make the phrase stand out a little! All of the images were colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers ! For the background, I used Distress Oxides in Abandoned Coral , Dried Marigold and Tattered Rose for the sky. Happy Birthday from All of Us Card by Sara

Hi BRI friends, Sara here! I am back with a new card, inspired by the April BRI Mood Board Challenge . This color palette is so gorgeous, so vibrant and so colourful! And what’s better than a happy spring trip with the cutest friends? Today’s card features the super adorable Avery Elle “Birthday Bus” , which is ready to bring smiles to everyone’s faces! I firstly stamped the bus onto some copic friendly paper, cause I planned to create a one layer copic scene. I wanted to have a white space at the bottom of my scene, for my sentiment. I then drew some really simple trees in the background: when you have stamps like this one, whose design is really cute, you don’t need to be perfect or draw as it looks into reality, you only need to sketch as if it was a storybook scene. That’s why I only drew some ovals. I looked through all my copics and I found the combination that worked for the current...

You've Been On My Mind

Hello there! Samantha here, and today I'm sharing a card I created for my Grandma's birthday! I was inspired by the March Mood Board ! Love these colors, and these images are just so FUN! For my card, I used the cutest floral images from Avery Elle : Sending Hugs and Sending Flowers ! And let me tell you, it was a struggle not to use those cute critters!! But I stuck solely with the flowers and I really like how pretty it came out! I colored all of the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then used the coordinating dies to die cut them all out! I popped some of the flowers up with foam tape , to add dimension!   I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto some vellum ! Then I die cut the vellum strip with the Fancy Wavy Banners Die from Lawn Fawn! I sprinkled some warm yellow sequins around the envelope too! And I can't forget, for the background, I used a strip of the super awesome Dotted Washi Tape from Altenew ! Hope you play along with the BRI Mood...

My Astonimically Good Friend Card

Hello! Samantha here, and today I'm sharing a card inspired by the January mood board ! Have you played along? Oh you HAVE to play along!! All of the details can be found here ! Ok, so on to my card! I used the super adorable Astronauts Stamp Set from Avery Elle ! I just love those astronauts, but I'm especially in LOVE with that little moon!! eeeeep!! Cutest ever! lol! I stamped the images and then colored them with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. Then, once they were dry, I fussy cut out the images, but if you wanted to make it even EASIER,  you could use the coordinating dies ! Then, I used a white gel pen to add some details to the images! For the background of the card, I did some watercoloring on the Distress Watercolor paper with black, navy, dark teals and an aqua color to create the night/galaxy sky! And then once that was dry, I used some white embossing paste and the Falling Stars Layering Stencil to add some texture! I heat embossed the sentiment in white ...

Falala with Davina and the November Moodboard

Hello friends! Davina here with a quick blog post and sharing my last project of the month using the November BRI Moodboard. As we are so quickly speeding through the end of this crazy year I feel like I haven’t had as much time for Cardmaking and coloring as I normally would like. But I am so happy with how this winter card turned out using the cozy fall colors of the current color board.    I often feel like knowing what colors I need to use takes away a lot of the mental struggle of choosing a theme for me. It helps me focus and not get so easily distracted trying to make decisions. I wanted to use the super fun  Happy Little Tree Farm  die set from Trinity Stamps. It comes with tons of tree pieces to make a whole forest of wonky trees. There are so many ways to layer them and switch the pieces about. I cut all the dies from two pieces of scrap cardstock, in mint and moss green. Then I used Peacock Feathers and Evergreen Bough distress oxide inks to inkblend onto ...

A Sparkly Holiday Wish Card

Hi there! Samantha here, and today I'm sharing a sparkly, sweet, Christmas-y shaped card!  So great, right? I was inspired by Laura Bassen to create a Christmas-y rainbow! lol! I love it! I die cut out the rainbow and clouds from the Rainbows Elle-ments from Avery Elle! Then I used Distress Oxide Inks in Candied Apple, Abandoned Coral, Picked Raspberry, Tattered Rose, Cracked Pistachio, Twisted Citron, Lucky Clover and Mowed Lawn for the rays! Then I splattered some water and white acrylic paint onto them!  I stamped the unicorns from the A Little Sparkles and Unicorn Picnic stamp sets from Lawn Fawn! I colored the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then fussy cut them out! I popped them up with foam tape and then glued it all down on my shaped card! I finished off the card with some giant Chunky Glitter from Lawn Fawn on the horns and the sparkly little stars! Hopefully it made you smile and inspired you to look at your non-Christmas stamps in a new way...

Thinking of You Orchid Card

Well hello there! It's World Card Making Day! And today, we have a FUN SKETCH we hope you play along with! I just LOOOOOOVE it!!!! Samantha here, and today I'm sharing an encouragement/get well type of card! My grandpa is currently battling colon cancer, and I'm determined to send him at least one card a week!  Anyway, let's get on to the goodness - the card! I love it! My grandpa is an avid orchid-expert and grower, they're a special flower to our family! So, it was a no brainer to make a card with this gooooooorgeous image from Avery Elle ! And guess what?! It's on sale - along with the coordinating dies !!! quick - grab them! lol! Ok, so I started by coloring my images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers! If you know me at all, you know that while I am in LOVE with coloring floral images...I'm more of a cute-sy critter color-er! lol! But I did m best to make this one slightly more realistic...slightly. lol!  I popped up the images with foam tape and...

Smile with the BRI Sept. moodboard by Davina

Hello Inky friends. I hope you are doing well. Davina here, on the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog today, using the beautiful Sept Moodboard. This blush, terra cotta, navy, and gold color board is so incredible and versatile. The colors are so trendy currently, and I truly believe that any stamp set will look wonderful with them.  This large, 5x7 interactive card, uses mostly Avery Elle stamps, along with a Lawn Fawn Scripty die. I have recently hoarded most of the Peek-a-boo Pals stamp sets from Avery Elle, but haven’t used them yet,  so I decided to get busy. After deliberating between a Bumper car slider slimline, rollercoaster, or Ferris wheel I decided on the Ferris wheel. But I wanted a fully rotating one.  I’m so happy with the results,  but it took a lot of trial and error. Let’s get started. First, because the Ferris wheel from Peek a Boo Fair  is only a partial image, I had to hand draw the wheel on my card. I stamped the Ferris wheel onto some copy pap...
