Warm Holiday Hugs with Davina

Hello crafty friends! Davina here with some winter BRI Moodboard color inspiration for you today. I used the beautiful cool-toned colors of the December Moodboard, and tons of Mama Elephant goodies, to create this fun scene. The colors this month are Ice Blue, Classic Blue, Greenery, and Sparkling Silver. They are the perfect combination for all of the winter scenery. All of the items used are available in the Butterfly Reflections Ink online store.  I was so excited to pull out my Mama Elephant products and create a Holiday card with these colors. I knew I wanted to use my  Arch Snow Globe  die set, and looked for some arctic stamp sets to combine. I’ve always loved the  Me and my Yeti  stamp set and I thought the cute penguins from the  Little Penguin Agenda  set would go well together.  I stamped and colored my images before cutting them out with the coordinating die sets. Next, I added white dot highlights and some glittery sparkle with a  W

Fluttering by with Erica

Hi Butterfly Reflections Ink Friends!  It’s Erica here, guesting for the BRI blog today, with a butterfly card, of course!  I started out by stamping the butterflies from the brand new Butterflies stamp from Pinkfresh Studio, with Blackout Ink , on Ranger water colour paper . I like that paper because it’s bright white. I also heatembossed it with clear embossing powder on top, as I was planning on adding some colour to it with a mix of Sweet Petunia Pink , Shark Tooth White and Liquid Pixie Dust .  If you want to make shimmery water colors, make sure you get some of that magical Liquid Pixie Dust ! Add a drop or two to a palette with a few drops of re-inkers of your choice. Easy peasy!  While that was drying, I worked on a background with the Diamond Motif slim line stencil and Distress Oxide inks in Kitsch Flamingo and Iced Spruce . I used blending brushes to give a soft look, and did this on Bristol Smooth paper. This piece was trimmed down to be just a tad smaller than an A2

Special Delivery with Davina

Hello crafty friends! This is my first blog post of the year with Butterfly Reflections Ink, and of course I am using the gorgeous January BRI Moodboard. If you haven’t already drooled all over these elegant and glam colors, they are Icy Mint, Powder Pink, Rose Gold , and Deep Space Blue.  I have so many different card ideas I want to create, but I still hadn’t used some of my Winter Lawn Fawn haul, as well as most of the brand new Lawn Fawn too. So I thought I’d better get to it! I used the new  Special Delivery  stamps and dies, along with the  Add On set  with the boxes and labels. I love that owl and his little mail man hat so much. I combined these images, with some bears from the winter release  Den Sweet Den , set to create a lovely snowy book delivery.  I stamped all of my images using the brown  Crunchy Leaf  in from Lawn Fawn, and copic colored my images using colors that fit the Moodboard. After die cutting the images using the coordinating dies, I added white dot highlights
