5 quick cards with "leftovers"

Hello, hello! Erica back on the BRI blog today! For this post I have done a little something different, I haven't coloured or stamped up any new images at all. Instead I looked in my little (but very overflowing) box of already coloured images, diecuts and stamped up sentiments and thought I'd challenge myself to use these rather than indulge my love of colouring again. I have a habit of colouring, colouring, colouring and then colouring some more... aaaaand then put the images aside with an 'I'll use them one day' attitude but when you do this continuously the stash does grow rather rapidly. So, it was time for an intervention for myself, hence this challenge. Aside from all these images and diecuts, I do have some card bases laying around for those times when I need quick cards and for all these, five in total, I used 4"x4" textured ready-creased cards. The stamped images, diecuts, card stock, markers, inks, embossing powders etc I have used

Quick Hello cards using Alcohol ink backgrounds and Concord&9th Say Hello diecut

Hi guys! Erica here! It’s Monday which means it’s my turn back on the BRI blog. Recently, I’ve been totally obsessed with alcohol inks and I’ve made so many background pieces it’s starting to get a bit ridiculous. I’ve challenged myself to make cards with them all before I’m allowed to make any more. In a recent blog post on my own blog , I made seven cards and told myself I could play with the inks again buuuuuuut then I realised I had another EIGHT backgrounds laying around...! I had to put my foot down with myself and set another goal of using more before I can make a single other piece. With that in mind, I made three cards for today’s post. I picked out three panels and adhered them to the card bases with double sided tape and then trimmed the excess off with scissors. The pieces I picked out ranged from a dark blue to a light blue, aqua and white mix. I also had the idea to make the overall design the same for all three cards, just changing up the colour schemes. I l

MFT 2018 Creative Olympics card making frenzy!

Hi guys! It’s is I, Erica, the glutton for punishment, on the BRI blog today. You might wonder what that refers to and I will get to that right this minute: The Olympics. Not the sporting event, no. I’m talking about this: There are four events for this and the deadline is later today, Monday 19th of Feb. For my card for today I decided to participate inMFT 2018 Creative Olympics | Event #4 - Speed Cardmaking. Oh boy... I really, really do not know why I do this to myself... Way back in the day when I was at school, I used to put off assignments using the argument that I work better under pressure. It was a load of rubbish back then and it certainly is a load of rubbish now! The only speed events I take part in these days are cake eating and manic cleaning 10 mins before someone is coming over..!  Well, anyway, I went ahead with my bad idea BUT thought I’d at least come up with a design for the card before I pressed the ‘start’ button on my stopwatch. I do not have a proper

Waffle Flower Cross Stitched Cacti

I have been over the moon excited to play with all the fun, cool and totally different Waffle Flower products from the store lately!  I'll be honest with you, it has taken me a while to warm up to them but now I have become a full fledged Waffle Flower super fan! You can find the entire collection by clicking  HERE!!! Today I am going to share with you a few cards I made using the  Cross Stitched Cacti Stamp Set.   At first look, it's a little difficult to tell exactly what the set is intended to create but do not let that scare you away! These images are super easy to use and I made three cards using this set in less then an hour! Yep...three! These are layering stamps...first I stamped the larger section of the cacti using my  MISTI  and a darker shade of green ink. (I will list a few suggested colors at the end of my post) and then I a lined the smaller section of the cacti and stamped that using a lighter green. I was worried I didn't have the cross stit
