Blue Birthday Greetings

Hi there! I'm back this week with a super sparkly, mixed media birthday card. Remember last week when I used a water color panel? This is the other water color panel I created, it came out with lots more blue/green/yellow colors. And the black panel? It was created MONTHS ago (#truth) using a Hero Arts stencil and some matte embossing paste which I colored black - just mixed the embossing paste with some black ink. Trying to give you a peek at the shimmer. :D I stamped and embossed the flowers from WPlus9 Kind Soul onto the water color panel and then trimmed by hand. It was a bit too big for my panel, so I cut it down and mounted a smaller portion at the bottom to kind of 'wrap around' the happy birthday sentiment. The happy was cut with a Heidi Swapp die, the 'birthday' was black embossed on a white strip of paper. I threaded the paper through the first 'p' and the 'y' of the word happy. Before cutting apart the flowers, I spritzed

Bloom Love

Good Morning everyone! I hope your morning is going great. I am so happy that it's Friday and all the fun events planned for this weekend. I am back with another layout! These products that I am using, just never get old to work with. I like to challenge myself and see what I come up with. I love the fringe look I did with the  Avery Elle 6x6 pattern papers  I also used a cut file from Ashley Horton from The Cut Shoppe, I packed it with some vellum.  I have officially used up all of those  Friendship Paper Pieces  and I am a little sad about it. I love anything with flowers, hearts, rainbows, clouds, raindrops...Pretty much SPRING! but my favorite season is Fall. ha ha!  I made a boo boo on this layout. When I started to use my Heidi Swapp Color Shine, It literally went everywhere. It was all over my arm and fingers and I had one of those moments where I was like "How did this happen?" and then I look down at the page! Oh NO!! The color shine was s

Best Ever

Hey ya'll I'm Megan behind it all over at PokeFreckleDot and I am one of the newbies here at Butterfly Reflections Ink. I can't tell you how excited I am to be apart of this awesome Design Team. I can't wait to get to know you all and communicate about our favorite's and hopefully form new friendships! With that being said I would like to show you my very first project for the Design Team! I used Studio Calico wood flower veneers and painted them coordinating colors. To match the 6x6 pattern paper by Jen Hadfield . I am also loving Pinkfresh Studio new line the  Felicity Collection . I always have a hard time coming up with a title's that are clever or that aren't like a sentence long, so these  Glitter Word Foam Stickers  are perfect for me! I can whip up a title in no time! They not only have word stickers but they also came with stars, leaves and arrows, so I incorporated some leaves as well. Please excuse my painting skills (clearing my

Guest Designer Sunday with Megan Hoeppner

Hello again, and happy Easter Sunday to everyone! Today is our final post with our AMAZING and gracious March Guest - Megan Hoeppner !!  ___________________________________________ Top o’ the weekend to ya! How was your St. Patrick’s Day? Do anything fun to celebrate? This was my youngest’s first, which made it a little extra special around here. We enjoyed time with friends, a visit from The Leprechaun, and some green and rainbow themed food. But, more than anything, all of the talk of good luck and time with those I love only further reminded me that I’m far more than lucky—I’m blessed! That’s the feeling I wanted to capture on this page, while also emphasizing that it was Lulu’s first March 17th. To begin, knew I wanted to create a large shamrock, so I cut my patterned paper leaves.  Originally, I was going to do more of a rainbow design, but my in-home consultant (my hubby) couldn’t tell it was a shamrock, so it was back to the drawing board I went various sh

Thinking of You

Hi there! Amber here :) I recently got some of the new Wplus9 goodies and just LOOOOVE this Watercolor Anemones stamp set! It has a coordinating die set too, which makes this amazing stamp set even more versatile! I stamped the blooms in Daffodil ink by MFT and a blue ink from Mama Elephant. The "thinking of you" sentiment is from Watercolored Anemones and the "smile" die is from WPlus9's Flower Doodle dies.   The stamp that I stamped in the center of the blue flowers is from Avery Elle's Petals and Stems The little binder clip in the top corner is from Heidi Swapp . See those black specks? I used my handy dandy spritzer tool from Ranger and a black Tombow marker and spritzed some black specks on the card, it really gave it that fun little extra detail I like! I thank you for stopping by today and hope you have a super fun Thursday!!

Sunday Funday and a Layout!

Hello! Samantha here, and today I have another fun layout to share! :) woo-hoo! It's ok, you can calm down, we're not even at the FUN part yet! Ha! First, a little behind the layout story: My biggest little Mann just finished 1st grade!! It's crazy - I can hardly believe it happened! Anyway, every morning, we would load in the car and sit in the drop off line, eat our breakfast, sing along with songs and go over spelling words!  And the best part - we watched the sunrise almost every morning together! I just had to document this special thing, that we did everyday!  Ok, so I used a thin layer of gesso on the base of my layout. Then I added the photo and all of that lovely layering behind it! I used various papers from lots of 6x6 paper pads...of which, I have just a few (*whistle*). I used the awesome tiny phrases from the Rise and Shine Amy Tangerine collection in grey to support the story. And that cute little grey and wooden heart is from th

NSD Mood Board Challenge & Giveaway

Hello there and happy National Scrapbook Day! Amanda here with you today to share this months mood board! Peach. yellow, orange and pink come together in this fun and fresh palette! It's like a punch of summer! And here is the layout I created for it!   Does anyone else have trouble scrapbooking themselves? I still find it a little awkward after spending years only creating layouts of, or me with, my son. The great thing about scrapping myself though is all the pretty stuff I can use! I used a bunch of rub ons and stamps using the mood board colors to create my own little strip of patterned paper and then continued pulling those colors into the layers. I just love these colors together! Supplies Used: Head In the Clouds stamp set , Over the Rainbow stamp set , Social Soup stamp set , Kelly's Take Note stamp set , Favorite Geotags stamp set , V for Chevron stamp set , Stitched Painted Rub Ons , On Trend 6x6 paper pad , Journey 6x6 paper pad ,  Hello To

I have loved Vanessa's store for a while and LOOOVE her selection and amazing fast shipping! Coast to coast she gets me my order in 2 days, gotta love that :) I have been stamping for about 10 years now. I started out scrapbooking, but quickly realized that stamping and card making is where my heart is at. In the past year, I've begun experimenting in mixed media and art journaling and my love of papercrafts has just exploded! I am never bored, never looking for something to fill my time. I just love this hobby of ours, so fulfilling and look at all these fabulous people and friends we meet! GAH! I'm just so happy to be here:) Okay, now for my card! I pulled out some Heidi Swapp Favorite Things 6x6 paper pad and picked a couple patterns I liked. Next, I ran the pink piece through my Bigshot with MFT's Stitched Speech Bubble die to create tha

Is it a Bag or Is it an Envelope?

Hello, Butterfly Reflection, Ink friends! What better way to start off the new week with a new BRI project!   I have always used treat bags for...well, treats! But the idea came  to me to turn it into an envelope for a card.     I love that the glitter stars add so much texture to a simple treat bag. A simple paper banner is added to the bag to act as a closure. A simple sentiment is stamped on the bottom of the banner.  To finish the envelope, I added a couple different embellishments (the heart and the enamel dots).   Supplies from the BRI shop : Cosmo Cricket- Treat Bags My Mind's Eye - Enamel Dots and Mildred Paper Pad Waffle Flower Crafts - Bowtiful Stamp Set Heidi Swapp - Clear Heart Embellishments   Have a wonderful day!
