Moodboard Inspiration with Peggy

Hello! My name is Peggy and this is my very first post as a design team member for Butterfly Reflections, Ink! I am so happy to be here among such talented crafters and hope to inspire you with my work! Today’s card is a thank you card inspired by this month ’ s gorgeous moodboard featuring rose gold, powder pink, icy mint and deep space blue. I started by cutting a side folding slimline card base from white 300 gsm paper measuring 7 x 8.5 inch, scored at 3.5 inch using my EK success mini scoring board . From rose gold mirror board I cut a panel measuring 3.5 x 8.5 inch and a panel of white 300 gsm cardstock to do some ink blending measuring 3 x 8 inch. Next I taped my panel to my Tim Holtz glass media mat (travel size). I used three colors of distress oxide pads , starting at the bottom with dried marigold , then spun sugar and tattered rose . I used my Lawn Fawn Cloudy Stencil and some chipped sapphire distress oxide ink to overlay a cloud pattern. Lastly, I used distress o

Glimmering Thanks

Hi Everyone! It's Jenny here with you again, and this time I have some gorgeous sparkling goodness for you to feast your eyes upon.  Honestly I wish you could see this card in real life - when it catches the light, the shine and sparkle almost puts your eye out! :D  It was also therefore really hard to photograph... I started with a panel made from Burnished Rose Craft Perfect Mirror Card by Tonic.  I was going for all out bling on this card, so why not start with mirror cardstock?  I adhered the hearts stencil from the gorgeous  Fall Showers stencil set by Honeybee Stamps  to the front using some painters tape.  This is a set of three stencils, and also includes raindrops and snow / dots.  You'll be seeing them again on future cards. To create the hearts you see here, I applied  Nuvo Glimmer Paste in Moonstone  over the stencil using a  palette knife .  This is a clear medium with gorgeous, iridescent glitter, and sparkles with any color that hits it.  It leaves love

Reverse Confetti THANKS!

Happy Wednesday friends - hope you are having a great week! Have you seen these Square Confetti Cuts (links below) from Reverse Confetti? So cool; they make a perfectly square 4.25" card OR you can layer it on to a larger size card...or make a tag...the possibilities are endless. I wanted to keep mine very CAS yet colorful. I had created a couple watercolor panels last weekend (you know, smoosh some distress colors down, add some water and dip your paper in) and put them aside to dry; I thought it would be a perfect backdrop to a clean white card. I cut 3 layers of the THANKS Square Confetti Cut, sponged on some yellow on the bottom of the 'thanks', added glossy accents then layered them together. I stamped and embossed some WPlus9 Modern Peony images to add some interest, adhered the stacked panel to the watercolor panel and then to a top folding 4.25" square note card - quick and simple! Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a GREAT week! Hugs!

Colorful Thanks

Hey there, crafty friends! It's Saturday once again so I'm happy to be on the blog today with this super colorful thank-you card. When I'm in a creative rut, I typically reach for the same technique every time--distress ink blending! I used my  Honey Bee Country Blooms stamp set  to create a super simple and quick background. I clustered the stamps all together on my acrylic block and then stamped them on to  watercolor cardstock  using  versamark  ink. When doing ink blending, I like to use watercolor paper because distress inks blend really well on the thicker watercolor cardstock. I  white heat embossed  the images and then started on the best part--the colorful ink blending! I used various colors of distress ink (Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio, Mermaid Lagoon, and Blueprint Sketch) and my  mini ink blending tool  and just let the inks do their thing! A few helpful hints on ink blending: 1. Blot off some of the excess ink on scratch paper as soon as you

Pull Strip Shaker Card

Hi there, my friends! Janette here bringing you a creative alternative for a gift card presentation. Who doesn't want a simple "Thanks" with a gift card thrown in for added appreciation? However, the recipient won't be returning the "thank you" for long if the contents are falling all over their feet. Sealing those pretty shaker diamonds between two layers of acetate will solve that dilemma. Follow along and I'll show you how...
