Striped Doodle Flowers

Happy, happy hump day! Hope you all are having a GREAT week! I made two cards this week using the same stamps; one monochromatic with Copics, the other soft and colorful with Zig Clean Color Markers. I stamped the watercolor background stamps on the main panel as well as the base card, the main panel is cut with MFT Blueprints and layered with fun foam. The monochromatic flowers were stamped with Jet Black ink, colored with Copics and layered onto a partial stitched circle from MFT.   On the Zig card, I embossed the images with white embossing powder and layered onto a partial white doily. The sentiments are from Right at Home, Script Sayings, I used the Misti to stamp the sentiments so I could stamp multiple times for a solid impression, particularly since the one actually stamps on the doily. Thanks for stopping by - don't forget to check out all the amazing items at Butterfly Reflections Ink - particularly that sale section  or the Stamp and Die s

Sending You Oceans of Love

Hi there and welcome to Butterfly Reflections Ink!  This is Tanya from Studio 5380 with a "mermazing" card to share with you.... Isn't she adorable? This little cutie is from the  Mermazing Stamp Set from My Favorite Things . To create my background I inked up some white cardstock using the following Distress Inks: Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers and Wilted Violet .  After allowing the inks to dry I stamped my background with the Mermaid Tail Background Stamp from My Favorite Things using  Versamark Ink.   Next I sprinkled on Ranger's  Super Fine Embossing Powder in White and heat embossed my background.  I also heat embossed my sentiment on a strip of black cardstock.      Using the scalloped die from the Die-namics Blueprint #27, I cut out a piece of silver glitter cardstock to go under my heat embossed panel.  This was adhered to a black cardbase.  I colored my sweet mermaids with Copic markers and added some wonderful sparkle wi

More bright & bold Hope

Hi friends - still loving WPlus9 flowers and the HOPE  set from Concord and 9th! :D Kinda like last week's card huh? As sometimes happens, I had a card 80% done and then changed my path - I'll still finish the other card, but that will probably be next week...and yes, IT HAS FLOWERS. HA! I stamped and embossed the beautiful mum set from WPlus9 and sprinkled on Pixie Paint Candy - but before it could spread too far, I quickly blotted it with a baby wipe and just love the splotchy look. I stamped the word HOPE in two MFT inks then added some more Copic shading. The additional sentiment was stamped in Hero Arts Black. I cut the panel from MFT Blueprints, mounted on some Mermaid paper which I embossed with a Cuttlebug folder and swiped on some Hero Arts Unicorn ink. Easy peasy...and quick! Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a GREAT week! Hugs! WHAT'S IT TAKE? Stamps : WPlus9  Beautiful Bouquet: Mums , Concord and 9th  Hope Papers : Neenah 110 lb.

A Magical Birthday

Hi there and happy Tuesday to you! This is Tanya from Studio 5380 to share a magical birthday card with you today. My youngest granddaughter, Hannah, is turning 4 years old in a couple of weeks. I love that she loves sparkles, glitter and princesses because it gave me a chance to create a card with the adorable Once Upon A Time stamp set by My Favorite Things: I really love the way this turned out - this stamp set is so much fun to work with. To get started, I cut out my scalloped background panel using the MFT Die-namics Blueprint #27 die set.  Next, I created a shorter panel using the MFT Die-namics Rolling Hills die.  I also used the Rolling Hills die to create a mask so that I could ink up some hills and clouds on my card background: The grassy hills on my card were created with Distress Ink in Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn . To created the look of clouds, I used Distress Ink in Broken China along with the new Cloud Stencil from My Favorite Things.

Waffle Flower Cross Stitched Cacti

I have been over the moon excited to play with all the fun, cool and totally different Waffle Flower products from the store lately!  I'll be honest with you, it has taken me a while to warm up to them but now I have become a full fledged Waffle Flower super fan! You can find the entire collection by clicking  HERE!!! Today I am going to share with you a few cards I made using the  Cross Stitched Cacti Stamp Set.   At first look, it's a little difficult to tell exactly what the set is intended to create but do not let that scare you away! These images are super easy to use and I made three cards using this set in less then an hour! Yep...three! These are layering stamps...first I stamped the larger section of the cacti using my  MISTI  and a darker shade of green ink. (I will list a few suggested colors at the end of my post) and then I a lined the smaller section of the cacti and stamped that using a lighter green. I was worried I didn't have the cross stit

Big Top Birthday - Neat & Tangled

Hello, Nicky back with you today with this card using the Big Top Birthday stamp and die set by Neat & Tangled . The panel of my card was cut using the largest die from Blueprints #25 by My Favorite Things .   I created a focal point by ink blending with Distress Ink in a light pink.  I die cut another panel with the same die and then used the medium sized wave die from Ocean Wave Borders by Lawn Fawn to cut 4 lengths of curtains. I ink blended 3 of these curtain pieces in a minty green and one in a pale blue and then applied them to the scene with dimensional foam tape. I then stamped the characters and other components with Ranger Archival Ink and watercolour painted them using Clean Color Real Brush Markers by Zig.  They were die cut and applied to the scene with yet more dimensional foam tape.  The final touch was a little Wink of Stella here and there for a subtle shimmer and then I set about highlighting certain points with my Uni-Ball Signo white pen, in

Happy Birthday Harvest Mouse

Hello everybody, Nicky back with you today and demonstrating my love and desire for wringing every last ounce of use out of my stamp sets.   Just because it isn't harvest time doesn't mean you can't use these mice from Harvest Mouse by MFT in a 'Springy' type of way. Firstly I ink blended my panel using Distress Inks and Clarity Stencil Brushes .  I then used some of the Distress Inks to splatter and distress the background.  A separate panel of card stock was ink blended in green Distress Inks and then die cut with the Grassy Hills Die by MFT.  I also die cut the picket fence using the Frightful Fence by MFT.  The background panel was die cut using the frame from Blueprints 25 by MFT. Assembly time ..... I popped the fence up on foam tape and then layered the grass over the bottom of the fence with more foam tape creating some nice depth and dimension, these were then adhered to the main panel.  Next I stamped the two mice from Harvest Mouse b
Hello, crafty friends! Its Rebekah here today, bringing you this sweet card using stamps and dies from  Neat and Tangled ! I started off by adding the  Nuvo Glimmer Paste  to a sheet of soft yellow cardstock, allowing it to dry about an hour and then cut out the heart shape from the  Floral Heart Die  by Neat and Tangled. The Glimmer Paste is so cool! Its easy to apply and looks amazing! It comes in a bunch of colors, too! I then die cut a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card panel with the  Blueprints 25 die set from My Favorite Things . This gives a nice, pretty stitched edge to the card which I just love! I placed the Floral Heart Die in the center of the panel and ran it again threw my die cutter again.  I colored the images in the  Cottontail Cuties  stamp set and cut them out using the  Cottontail Cuties Dies . I added  foam tape to the back of the card panel with the heart cut in the center and placed in on a card base. I then placed the glittered heart in the center. I arranged

MFT Fluttering Hearts and Cool Cat!

Hello everyone, it is Nicky here with you again.  Today I am sharing a card that I made using MFT's new Die-Namics Fluttering Hearts Coverup .  The card started with two panels die cut in 100lb red card stock using the second largest die from Lawn Cuts Scalloped Rectangle Stackables .   I joined the two panels together having scored a fold line so that the card could flex and sit open.  I then die cut the fluttering hearts panel out of 110lb white card stock and teased open only the ones that you see opened (I found that they opened better for being scored down the center of each one).  Over the flat section I made a panel.  On the left of the panel I die cut into it a line of X's and O's from MFT's Die-Namics Blueprints #5 .  On the right hand side I stamped and watercolour painted  and die cut my favorite cat from MFT's Cool Cat .  Using an old off cut that had the stitched edge I stamped the sentiment.  The mini panel was mounted to the fluttering hearts panel

Dreamer

It's been a week since Vanessa launched her two new stamp sets, and they are both amazing. I adore the powerful, empowering messages they have.  Karen B. here from The Bald Dragonfly , and I chose to ink up the #Hashtag Bossy Stamp Set and pair it with one of the sweet bunnies from MFT's Snuggle Bunnies Stamp Set and Die-Namics , as well as MFT's Starry Circle Die-Namic . Aren't they a match made in heaven?? I started with a white cardstock base and die cut the  Starry Circle  from the front flap. I then inked up one of the coordinating smaller sentiments from  #Hashtag Bossy  and stamped it towards the bottom. The larger sentiment from  #Hashtag Bossy  was white heat embossed onto a black tag cut from MFT's Blueprints #27 Die-Namic  and mounted with dimensional adhesive onto the card base. I tucked the little bunny (colored with copics) behind the banner and adhered him to the front of the cardbase. I then  inked up the remaining cut out from  St

Enjoy the Little Things

The only part of Mondays I like is this part, sharing my projects with YOU!!  I guess it's one of those "little things" I enjoy.  How was that for an introduction??! hahaha :) Todays card features a stamp set from Newton's Nook called  Happy Little Thoughts .  This set is SO sweet!  It's full of wreath images, flowers, leaves and sentiments in the most beautiful fonts!!  What's also great about it, is it has  Co-ordinating Dies !!!  I'm a huge fan of co-ordinating dies..another one of those "little things". I used the most floral wreath in the set and stamped in onto to some smooth white cardstock using  Memento Tuxedo Black  ink.  The images are fairly small, so only one color of marker is necessary to color.  I never really have a plan in my head when it comes to my cards, I usually will focus on the main image and start from there (which is why most of the time, I never have room for a sentiment!) After I die cut the wreath, I sat and loo

Happiest of Holidays

Hi all!  I'm so happy to be here on the BRI blog today!  I broke out the adorable MFT Santa's Elves Stamp Set to make another Christmas card (there are 2 left in the store!  Hurry and get them while you can!).  I colored the tree and elf with Copics, then masked them both and used MFT inks to sponge on the background.  I added gold glitter to the bell on his hat and some glossy accents to the ornament and star. Thanks for stopping by!  Hope y'all have a fabulous weekend!!! Hugs,

A watercolored happy birthday

Hi all!   Angel here with a birthday card using the MFT Birthday Bears set !  I kinda sorta love these bears.  A lot.  I inked the images with Ranger Distress Markers , then clear embossed them.  I was going for the no-line look, so I then took the same distress markers and lightly colored in areas I wanted some shading then used an aqua painter to spread the color around.  This set has matching die-namics  which I used to cut out the images.  For the background, I used more distress inks and an aqua painter and just basically colored some splotches :D  and added flecks of ink, too.  I used one of the elements from the Blueprints 25 for the sentiment strip.  I popped up the sentiment and the bear and balloon with Kool Tak clear foam adhesive .  A trio of the *new* BRI sequins called aqua-holics anonymous add a bit more detail.  Thanks for stopping by! ~ Angel ~
