Oh Hoppy Day with Aug BRI Moodboard

Hello crafty friends! Davina here on the blog with some BRI Moodboard color inspiration. The cool toned August colors are super dreamy consisting of pistachio, sky, magenta, and eggplant. At first I felt a little hesitant until I realized that that these are colors I use on their own all the time. I have a pile of super adorable  Paperie Ink Stamps  that are unused so I flipped through looking for something that I would color light green and the cute froggies from  Oh Hoppy Day  caught my eye.  I stamped several of the super cute frogs, lotus flowers, and lily pads onto my Neenah solar bright cardstock, and got to work. I colored the images with copic markers, using colors from the Moodboard, then I carefully fussy cut out each image. Once they were cut out I added my white dot highlights.  Next I used the new Lawn Fawn  Simple Stripe Portrait die  to cut a piece of white and black cardstock. I assembled the alternating colors onto a trimmed A2 panel with liquid glue. I cut a smaller s

Floral Friendship Card with Waffle Flower!

Hello, hello, hello!  It's been awhile but I'm thrilled to be on the BRI blog today! I'm sharing a card made using products from Waffle Flower which I ordered quite some time ago and have never used! The Jar of Happiness stamps and dies are so whimsical and pretty and I'm not sure why it's taken me this long to use them! This card also features embossing paste which, let's be honest, hasn't seen a whole lotta love from me lately.  On a panel of watercolour paper, I applied the paste through the Floral Lace Stencil from Newton's Nook. This is one of the prettiest stencils! After the paste was dry, I added Worn Lipstick , Speckled Egg and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Inks to the top right of the panel. I added quite a bit of water for the inks to flow down. Before mounting the panel, I used the Just Stitching Double Rectangle Dies from Lawn Fawn on a kraft card base. I love these dies to add details without adding dimension! Anoth

Valentine Wishes

Good Morning! It is  Dana  here today with a Valentine's Day card using a stencil and stamp set from  MFT Stamps. Let's get started, shall we? I started my card by ink blending my background with  Ranger Distress Oxide Ink.  I used  Candied Apple,   Picked Raspberry,  and  Wilted Violet.   Next, I layed the  MFT Stamps: Lots of Heart Stencil  over my ink blended background.  Then, I added the same three colors of ink over the stencil, adding my hearts to my background. Next, I misted my background with water. I let my background dry for a few minutes, and then I added  Translucent Embossing Pastel  over my stencil.  While my background was still wet, I removed the stencil and added  Nuvo Pure Sheen Glitter in Ice White . This gave my background amazing sparkle and shine!! Perfect for Valentine's Day.  For my sentiment, I used the  MFT Stamps: Valentine Wishes Stamp Set . I kept my sentiment rather simple, letting my background be

"Hello Summer" Mixed Media Scrapbook Layout //Simple Stories

Hey friends...Happy Tuesday!  Heather here to share a fun and bright summer scrapbook layout.  The picture is of my daughter and nephew about five years ago and I still hadn't scrapped it....crazy huh? because it is soo cute!  My daughters shirt has a little pineapple and flamingo on it and worked so well with the Simple Stories Hello Summer Collection .   Per usual, I started with a piece of white cardstock and added a layer of clear gesso .  I love using white cardstock because of the way the bright colors pop!  To add some color behind my photos and embellishments, I used Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide Ink , Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink , Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Ink , and Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Ink mixed with some water  by smooshing on the paper with some plastic packaging and a paint brush.  Once dry, I added some platters with the same colors.       Since this collection has a pineapple theme, I decided to use this cute pineapple cut file,

Rain or Shine

Hello crafty friends! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. Gladys here and I'm sharing this two scene in one card today. I have quite a few steps to cover so let's get started shall we.   So the weather where I live has been bonkers lately. In one week we've had rain, wind, sunshine, and winter temperature...I'm so confused sometimes I don't know what to wear for the day. (Ok I lied that's pretty much everyday for me, the struggle is real people!) Well today my card is all about weather and I'm sure I'm not the only one who is ready for warmer temps and to see all the pretty flowers in full bloom.Yes bring on the sunshine because I sure need some Vitamin D.    For my card I used a lot of MFT products. I adore their new stamp set called Rain or Shine from the amazing Birdie Brown collection. The stamp set come with two girl images, four adorable little ducklings, sun, clouds and a puddle to create the perfect rain or shine scene

Don't Blink!!

Hello! Samantha here, and today I'm sharing a FUN layout about our super BRIEF encounter with 'snow' here in South Carolina, last winter! It was SOOOO quick, it melted before touching the ground, and if you blinked, you would miss it! Ha! But it still counts, right?! Ha! I started by using gesso on my background, and then went crazy with the watercolor and paints in peaches, pinks, purples and black! SO FUN! Super loving that color combination! :) The gesso protects the white cardstock from deteriorating from all of the water and paints!  Once it was all dry, I used some white embossing paste and this AMAZING Knight Sky Stencil by Echo Park to add some stars and texture! After attaching those fabbie wood veneer chevrons, I covered them in clear glitter Stickles !! LOOOOOOVE that look!  And even though this is a winter layout, I used LOTS of ephemera from the Pink Paislee Summer Lights collection!! The pinks and purples were perfect matches! I also added

Pumpkin Spice Fall Leaves

Hi everyone, It's Jenny here and I'm back with another fall/autumn themed card, despite the fact that the weather here in New York is glorious and super hot!  (Seems like we are getting another last gasp of summer!) The card I'm showing today uses a very versatile design, and is so quick and easy.  Several of the new Carta Bella stencils in stock, or many of the repeating pattern stencils could be used for this technique, and with so many Nuvo Mousse colors and glitter colours, the sky is the limit!! The stencil I used today is the Carta Bella Fall Leaves stencil.  I love the all over pattern this creates, and the detail in the leaves is fabulous.  Stencils are one of my favorite card making supplies as there are so many ways to use them and they're great on the wallet. To create this card I took a white card panel (I used sturdier cardstock 110lb) trimmed to slightly smaller than an A2 size card.  I taped it down to a craft mat and then lay the stencil ove
