Kind Words Cost Nothing...

Hello!  It is Lisa Lahiff here with you today, and I'm so happy to share a quick and elegant card with all of you today... I am a sucker for great quotes and the Beautiful Quotes Stamp Set by Altenew is wonderful!!!  The sentiments in this set really grab my heart every time, like the one on this card.  For my background I started by stamping various images from the Wild Hibiscus Stamp Set also by Altenew with their Glacier Caves Mini Inks .  I then die cut the panel out with Lawn Fawn's Stitched Large Rectangles .  I then paneled my sentiment with some silver mirror paper and popped it up with foam adhesive. Thanks so much for stopping by and don't miss out on the new goodies that are constantly coming into the shop! Happy Crafting/Shopping! Lisa

Christmas Card Crunch Time with GD Lisa Lahiff + A Sale

Hello, it's Lisa here with you today!  I am so excited to get to pop in on the blog today as a Guest Designer!  As we are inching closer to the Holidays we are also inching closer to the cut off date for having your Holiday Cards in the mail so they can be enjoyed in time.  While I have made plenty of cards for others to send out, I have yet to make any for myself. (yikes!) So today I have three cards to get me going in the right direction and that are easy to make/mass produce. ( Please excuse the photo quality as it has been rather rainy here the last couple days making it hard to get a great shot, grrr! ) For all of these cards I started by stamping my sentiments from the My Favorite Things Hand Lettered Holiday Stamp Set (which happens to be on sale, yay!) with Versafine Ink .  I also used the same stencil by My Favorite Things called Snowfall (also on sale!).  For the above card I chose to cover it with white embossing paste and Ranger Dis...

Mix and Matching MFT with Lawn Fawn

Hello!  It is Lisa here today, and I'm so happy to share this mix and match congratulations card.  There are so many good products available these days in the papercrafting world that it's fun to mash various manufactures together... To create this card I started by stamping and heat embossing the My Favorite Things Lace Background Stamp.  I just have to say I am in LOVE with this stamp!  The details are so gorgeous!  Anywho, I then trimmed off a strip to adhere to the side of my cardbase.  Next I diecut my tag and sentiment and then using my little Xyron this sentiment was a snap to stick together.  I used a regular hole punch and tied black twine in a bow.  I decided to adhere the whole tag with foam adhesive for extra dimension.  Finally I finished my card off with a few enamel dots. Supplies Used: Stamps: My Favorite Things (Lace Background Stamp ) Dies: My Favorite Things ( Pierced Traditional Tags ) and Lawn Fawn ( Congrats ...

Party Animals Shake It!

Hello, hello!  Lisa here with you all today and I'm so happy to be guesting on the blog this month! woot woot!  I have created a super fun and bright shaker card using lots of the new Lawn Fawn goodies , check it out.... While this card did take some time to create, it is a rather simple one to make. ( I totally just rhymed there too, haha! ) I started by stamping all of my fun little critters and accessories onto separate cardstock.  I love using my scrap cardstock for projects where I know I'll be fussy cutting my images out.  Next, I colored everything with various Copics before cutting them all out.  Then I moved onto making my shaker element.  This came together by die cutting the small stitched Rectangle Stackables Lawn Cuts several times, the frame was then gone over with various distress inks, the background cut was used for stamping the sentiment, and finally it was put all together with sequins and foam adhesive. Here is a more detai...

Dry Embossing Techniques to Try!

Hello!  Lisa here with another Guest spot here on the Butterfly Reflections Ink Blog, yay!!!  Today I'm doing something a bit different and focusing on techniques rather than a step by step project, so I hope you like it!  I wanted to take a product and really show lots of different ways to get the most out of it, and the biggest bang for your buck, so I went with one of my favorite products in Vanessa's store the We R Memory Keepers Embossing Folders (seriously, you have to click the link to see just how gorgeous these are for yourself).  There are many reasons I love these embossing folders , one being that they are larger than the normal embossing folders making them great for covering larger areas, two their details are gorgeous, and you get two in a pack!  So I have taken one of these embossing folders and am sharing a few ways to get more bang for your buck... Technique #1 Distressed Embossing: To create this look simply emboss onto colored cardsto...

Live in the Sunshine...

Hi!  It's Lisa here today to share a new and bright layout with you today!  I love when Vanessa sends us surprises from the store (thanks Vanessa!), and one of the surprises in my last DT kit was a pack of the I Heart Summer Pocket Pages by Simple Stories.  I have never really used pockets before on my layouts, but I was intrigued and determined to do so.  As I kept looking them over I thought why use pockets in the traditional form?  Instead I chose to use mine as my title and backdrop for my photo.  I LOVE the results.  Let me share a few more details on how this layout came together... Here are the products I have used (missing the white embossing paste ): I began this layout by creating some texture with a stencil and Wendy Vecchi Embossing Paste : I also added a few spritz of blue.  I then adhered my pocket, photo and Jillibean Soup placemat: I then finished my layout with embellishments such as: Chic Tags Cloud 9 Aceta...

No Stamp Cards

Hello!  Lisa here today to share some clean and simple cards made without stamps.  Most of the time when I sit down to make a card I reach for my stamps.  But this time I limited myself to using only patterned papers and embellishments to create my cards, something I found fun and refreshing.  If you remember my last post I talked about buying products in one collection to make putting projects together easy, and I've done just that here too... For my first card I started by layering and trimming some pattered paper. I then layered the sentiment with a matching die cut. Completed with some enamel hearts.   For my next card I used rub-ons for my sentiment. I trimmed patterned paper and adhered it to my card base. I added embellishments and rub-ons  Both are super simple and easy to re-create.  Just the way I like it!  Hope you've enjoyed my post today, and that you were inspired to get out your patterned paper...
