October 2022 Mood Board

Hello there! And happy World Card Making Day! Amanda here today to share this months mood board. I was really drawn to the teal and orange combo this month and while I typically love jewel tones in the fall I was really liking the idea of some lighter muted tones like sage green and a sandy orange to round it out. I hope it's fall enough for you! My son informed it is not 😂 Forest Teal, Sage Green, Sandstone and Yam Image Sources: Pinterest I can't wait to see all of your creations! Be sure to share on Instagram with #brimoodboard for a chance to win a $20 shop credit, plus if you enter this weekend and use #briwcmd2022 you'll be entered to win an additional prize! June 2022 Mood Board

Hello there! Amanda here to share this month's mood board. I realized after I completed this board that the overall palette might be a little more similar to the March board than I would have liked. Hopefully the tonal and range changes inspire you in a new way! We're trading that mid-tone golden yellow and warm coral pink from March for a vivid cool yellow and creamy orange. It's a little springy, a little summery and hopefully a whole lot of fun to play with!  Meadowlark, Aqua Haze, Papaya, True Navy Image Sources: Pinterest I can't wait to see all of your creations! May 2022 Mood Board

Hello there! Amanda here today to share this month's mood board. The color palette was inspired by this gorgeous abstract floral image I came across on Pinterest. What's great about using an inspiration photo like this is even with the same colors you can end up with several palettes with a totally different feel depending on the shades you select. But you know I love saturated color! It's vibrant, bold and so fun for spring florals!  Rosewater, Aurora Magenta, Marine Green, Tropic Canary Image Sources: Pinterest I can't wait to see all of your springy creations! April 2022 Mood Board

Hello there, Amanda here today to share this month's mood board! I totally love the newly released Saltwater Taffy Distress Ink and after doing a paint inspired palette last month I figured why not go all distress inks this time? I'm sure most of you have the whole line of inks, you won't even have to think about how to match the colors 😉 Pink and yellow is one of my all time favorite duos so wild honey was a natural choice for me, mustard seed would also be a great option here! After I had those two colors I decided to look at the whole range and the gorgeous teal of Peacock Feathers immediately stood out to me and this is where we ended up. I love how it turned out, I hope you do too! Saltwater Taffy, Wild Honey, Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers Image Sources: Pinterest I can't wait to see all of your creations! March 2022 Mood Board

Hello there! Amanda here today to share this month's mood board. I had a soft purpley mauve and cool green palette in mind when I first started putting this board together but I couldn't stop thinking about my new favorite paint combo using Dina Wakley Media colors, Blackberry and Olive. From there I decided to keep it essentially a two-color palette by adding lighter and darker values from the same paint line. I pulled all the colors directly from some painted swatches and knew it was the direction I wanted to go. I absolutely love it and hope you do too! Heather, Blackberry, Olive and Fir Image Sources: Pinterest I can't wait to see all of your creations! Be sure to share on Instagram with #brimoodboard for a chance to win a $20 shop credit. February 2022 Mood Board

Hello there! Amanda here today to share this month's mood board. The last two years I've given you ALL the pinks and reds for Valentine's Day. This year I thought I would go a little less literal for the holiday. What I love about this combo is it's a little neutral but also moody (can you tell I've been on a moody color kick lately?) adding a romantic feel to the palette. I also went highly textural in my image choices to really play up the vibe. I hope you all love it as much as I do!  Glacier Gray, Steel Gray, Dusty Rose, Antique Gold Image Sources: Pinterest I can't wait to see all of your creations! January 2022 Mood Board

Hello there! Amanda here today to share this month's mood board. Can you believe another year has passed? I know last year was another hard one for a lot of us, here's to hoping 2022 sees some positive changes! I often go in to the January mood board thinking soft and airy, basically wintry but a fresh start to the year. I started down that same path this year but ended up with something a little more cozy winter cabin. And I love it! I'm really digging the mauve and butterscotch combo. It's a little fall-ish but works so well for winter too. Also, who else is thinking a solo vacation in that little yellow cabin sounds perfect right about now!??  Spun Sugar, Mauve, Butterscotch and Marine Blue Image Sources: Pinterest I can't wait to see all of your creations! December 2021 Mood Board

Hello there! Amanda here today to share this month's mood board. At first glance this palette may not scream holiday time, but you know I love non-traditional color schemes! I'm also all about metallics in my Christmas decor so I knew I wanted to throw some glittery silver in here. Silver and blue has been a popular decorating choice for Christmas for as long as I can remember so I decided to go with two shades of blue, one icy cool and one classic and rich. The addition of a mid-tone green really just freshens everything up. Can you smell the Christmas trees yet? 😉 I know you all love you scene cards, I think this palette will be great for little winter scenes!    Ice Blue, Classic Blue, Greenery, Sparkling Silver Image Sources: Pinterest I can't wait to see all of your creations! October 2021 Mood Board

Hello there! Amanda here today to share this month's color challenge and it is a full on Halloween mood! I was looking back over the previous years of mood boards and realized I've only ever done one with a Halloween theme, and it was several years ago. I figured it was time to bust one out again! I went with a pretty traditional Halloween palette but subbed midnight blue for the typical black and then threw in a little fun with some phosphorescent green. Glowing Green, Pumpkin, Electric Violet, Midnight Blue Image Sources: Pinterest I can't wait to see what you all come up with this month! September 2021 Mood Board

Hello there! Amanda here today to share this month's mood board. Vanessa and I are both all about the fall feels so I couldn't resist a head start into the season. This color combo was inspired entirely by that gemstone illustration in the bottom corner. It has an earthy richness but still holds on to that summer vibrancy, perfect for the transition into fall! I am personally LOVING that moss and peacock duo! Quartz Pink, Tomato, Moss and Peacock Image Sources: Pinterest I can't wait to see what you all come up with this month! August 2021 Mood Board

Hello there! Amanda here today to share this months mood board! We're sitting primarily on the cool side of the color wheel with this palette, but we're not lacking for contrast! The light green and blue have an almost washed-out watery feel, whereas the pink and purple give you that high value intensity. I think the combo as a whole has such a great richness to it! Pistachio, Sky, Magenta and Eggplant Image Sources: Pinterest I can't wait to see what you all come up with this month! July 2021 Mood Board

Hello there! Amanda here today to share this month's mood board and, can I just say, I absolutely LOVE this one! As I was working on finding just the right images to use I was envisioning projects with a lot of white space to really allow these colors to pop like they deserve. I know I just gave you a yellow last month (I hate being repetitive, but it's hard sometimes!) but where as that one was cool and airy this one is rich and warm, and I am totally digging it paired with the mulberry. I rounded out the palette with another cool/warm combo with an almost-purple soft pink and a slightly orange pinkish-red. Gotta love those undertones! 😉 Bubblegum, Honey, Poppy, Mulberry Image Sources: Pinterest I can't wait to see what you all come up with this month! May 2021 Mood Board

Hello there! Amanda here today to share this month's mood board! I feel like I'm hitting the summer vibes a little early with this one, but I'm here for it. Anyone else dreaming of a vacation right now? ðŸ™‹ We have plans to go to Hawaii for the first time in November and I'm just hoping by the time that comes around we won't have any problems traveling. Back to the colors though, I *gasp* have a neutral for you again in this month's palette in the form of a soft sandy yellow. But not to worry! I paired it here with some bold pure hues to make for a playful and intense palette. I hope you love it! Linen, Teal, Fuchsia and Coral I loved all your springy creations with the April palette, I can't wait to see what you all come up with this month! April 2021 Mood Board

Hello there! Amanda here today to share this month's mood board. If you couldn't tell, I'm definitely still feeling the spring florals! Even though I am a fall/winter kind of girl, there is just something about spring that makes me happy. Watching the world come alive again is so refreshing (and much needed this year). This palette definitely hits that mark! The light, but still vibrant, citron and blue are so airy and fresh. Then that coral and purple come in and add so much drama. Love it! Honeydew, Robin's Egg, Passion Fruit and Violet Image Sources: Pinterest You guys rocked it with last month's colors, as you always do! I can't wait to see what you all come up with this month! March 2021 Mood Board

Hello there! Spring has sprung today with this month's mood board! Pink and yellow is one of my favorite color combos, especially when paired with orange. But, as much as I was tempted to, we're not going with orange today. I've paired a soft warm pink and bold yellow with two cool greens to create a fresh floral palette perfect for the start of the season! January 2021 Mood Board

Hello and happy New Year! I know most of us are pretty happy to leave 2020 behind but hopefully you have something positive from it to take in to the new year. I think we're off to a good start with this month's mood board featuring a little sparkle and ice for some winter glam vibes! I love doing soft wintry colors this time of year, I always envision projects with lots of white on white texture and pops of soft color, but this year I also wanted to do something a little more New Year's Eve party. The combination of the two came together so well! I'm absolutely LOVING this palette and I hope you do too! November 2020 Mood Board

Hello there! Amanda here today to share this month's mood board. I have another fall palette for you, but this time we're going for a moodier vibe! I'm really loving the orangey-pink color (what would you call it? It was difficult to name, nothing quite fit) in this combo, especially when paired with that deep muted purple. Then you have the warm yellow to brighten things up and the almost emerald teal for that gorgeous pop of color! I just love it, it's such a cozy combo! September 2020 Mood Board

Hello there! Amanda here today to share this month's mood board. I always do my best to keep these palettes seasonally harmonious while still pulling together unexpected or challenging combinations. I love transitions between seasons because it allows a little more room to play around with my choices. This month we're just hinting at (and wishing for) fall with the muted deep blue and rusty orange but keeping it fresh, light and modern with soft pink and a light metallic gold. I know I say it all the time, but I just love how these colors came together! Pale Dogwood, Stardust, Twilight and Terra Cotta Image Sources: Pinterest I can't wait to see what you all come up with using this palette! August 2020 Mood Board

Hello there! Amanda here today to share this month's mood board. Last month's color scheme was all about the heat, but now we're flipping to the other side of the spectrum and cooling things down. I haven't been camping on a lake since I was a kid but for some reason that's what this color palette makes me think of. I can just imagine late summer/early fall evenings on a secluded lake with a small private cabin and dock. Sounds perfect right about now!  Iced Melon, Aqua Sky, Steel Blue and Plum I can't wait to see what you all do with this palette! Be sure to share your creations on Instagram with #BRImoodboard, or keep an eye out for the link up over on Davina's blog, for a chance to win a $20 credit to the shop! We had so many wonderful entries for the July mood board, it's always so fun to watch what you all come up with! The random winner for July is Kavya with this adorable creation!
