Love You To The Core

Hi all! Happy Saturday!   Kari  with you today to share this card featuring the adorable Pure Innocence girl from My Favorite Things, and she's all about feeling the Fall Season and eating her apples!  I love this little set!  Not only it is a great set for Fall themed cards, but for Teachers as well!! I couldn't wait to ink her up and color her with my Copic markers!  I even got ambitious and paper- pieced her little jacket!!  I started out this card by die cutting a white card stock circle from the Lawn Fawn Fancy Scallop Circles dies, and stamped my main image from the MFT set  Love You To The Core , and inked it up using my favorite black ink for Copic coloring - Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink.  I did some super duper easy coloring, and then stamped this image again  - once for my mask that I will use later, and again onto a piece of pattern paper for the jacket portion of the image.  I carefully used my detail scissors to cut out the jacket.  To give it a finished edge, I

Happy Purrthday (Masculine Card)

Hey friends, it's Christy here! Today I have a cute masculine card for my little guy's birthday. He absolutely loves cats, so I just had to make him a card with Lawn Fawn's Meow You Doin'? .  So I have a couple of tips that I always adhere to when making boy cards: use bright, primary colors, simple shapes (in this case I used circles and stripes), and little to no embellishments. For some reason boys just typically don't go for the froo from stuff! ;) Bearing that in mind, I colored my images with Copic markers and cut them out with the  matching dies . I layered them on top of my focal panel, from the  Shimelle Little By Little 6x6 pad  die cut with one of the   MFT Wonky Stitched Rectangle die-namics .  I used a blue card base (his favorite color) accented with strips of red cardstock. I added just the teensiest bit of embellishment by die cutting the cross-stitched pattern into the bottom strip with one of the  Lawn Fawn Stitched Borders . And f

A Novel Birthday

Hey crafty friends, it's Christy , back with my Friday Feature at BRI. This week I needed a special birthday card for a very special lady in my writer's group, and I knew that the  MFT Our Story  stamp set was going to work perfectly to create the look I was after. I did a combination of Copic coloring and paper piecing using the absolutely gorgeous  Flora 6x6 by Carta Bella . Now, I'll admit, it did take me a while to fussy cut those beautiful patterns for the chair and some of my book covers and layer them over the matching die cuts , but since the Birthday Girl, Alice, was turning 85 years young, it was totally worth the extra effort. I even added her little dog, Gypsy, into the scene. To create a soft background and ground my images I did some simple masking and sponging of Distress Inks . Then I framed up my focal panel by giving it a nice stitched edge with the  Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables  and used lots of foam tape to layer my images and g

Wicked Halloween!

Hello, everyone!!   Laurie  here to share a Halloween card with you.  First off, let me admit that I am not a fan of Halloween. I know, right??!!  Deep down I want to like it but.... However, I did have a blast making this card.  I used an actual Halloween stamp set and a not even remotely close to a Halloween set. This is where my thought process started. I started by going through scraps of cardstock to find halloween colors (that cardstock is actually purple).  I used the  First Step Stamp Set  and  Co-ordinating Dies  from Waffle Flower.   I then stamped the shoe images again on white cardstock and drew "stockings". I coloured the stripes with my alcohol markers.  Can you see where I'm going with this?? :)   To create a custom sentiment for my card, I used the  Peek A Boo Stamp Set  from The Greeting Farm.  I only used the "Have A" and "Halloween" portions of the "Have a Magical Halloween" sentiment.  For the custom

To match the sentiment, I added a few stamped hearts.   Thank you for stopping by today! Hope you have a great day!   Jessi   Supplies: Avery Elle - Home Sweet Home Pebbles - Home Grown

Just waving Hi!

Hi all!   Angel here with a card using a super cool set by Neat and Tangled called Sailmates .  The sentiments in this set are so fun!  The rectangle frame and the paper-pieced boat were cut out from some dp in the As You Wish paper pack .  The rectangle frame is up on foam adhesive.  I embossed the waves with white embossing powder , then cut the edge of one so I could place my paper-pieced boat "in" the waves.  The sentiment was stamped on a bit of dp from the True Friend paper pack then cut out with a circle die. Thanks for stopping by! Hugs, Angel

Have a Beary Happy Birthday!

Hi all!  Angel here for my first DT post!  Wahoo!!!  I decided to make a birthday card using this adorable Polar Bear from the Cool Day Birdie Brown set  because 1. I totally love him and 2. my birthday was yesterday!!  ;)  I paper pieced his/her scarf and hat with the As You Wish 6x6 paper pad , which is also what I used for the background and scalloped strip.  So many fun patterns in this pack, it was hard to decide which sheet to use!  For the sentiment, also from the set, I heat embossed it with Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder .  I think an embossed sentiment adds so much to a card!  I added a trio of wood veneer stars , which I colored with Blu Raspberry ink to match.  I like matching.  Matching is my favorite.  {lol, I still have Elf replaying in my head!} Thanks for stopping by and see y'all soon! Hugs, Angel
