Hi everyone, Peggy here! You have only one birthday each year, but there are 364 UN-birthdays to celebrate (and even more in a leap year)! So I am probably right wishing you a very merry unbirthday today! Thanks for visiting the blog to see how I made this Alice in Wonderland inspired card!
I started by looking through my Lawn Fawn stamp sets to find stamps I could use for the Mad Hatter's tea party. I used Gleeful Gardens (plants, mushrooms), Bicycle Built for You (boy, girl and top hat), A Creature was Stirring (plates, cookies), Forest Feast (large tree stump, milk jug, mushroom), Octopi My Heart (bow tie), Easter Before and After (white rabbit), Den Sweet Den (book stacks, cups). I stamped everything using Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink and colored with my copics. The boy was mirror stamped using a piece of acetate and I traced the lines with a black fineliner.
I cut one large and two smaller slimline panels from white cardstock. One of the small panels I made into a slimline grassy border. For the large slimline panel I used Distress Oxide Pine Needles. For the grass I used Distress Oxide Cracked Pistachio, Mowed Lawn and Fossilized Amber. For the sky I used Picked Raspberry and Tattered Rose. I used some water and watercolor paint to give the panels some more interest. I adhered the panels and grass, making sure to leave some room to stick things behind the grassy border.
I laid out my scene so I could determine where to stamp the sentiment. I altered the sentiment from A Bug Deal by cutting the happy and birthday apart. I used Harold' s ABC to add the UN before birthday. Once that was done I adhered my scene combining foam tape and Glossy Accents, which I also use as my main liquid adhesive. Lastly, I added white highlights using a gel pen and more Glossy Accents.
I hope you are inspired by my card! As always, long distance hugs!
Peggy
