Hello! I only have one week of school left, so I thought it was fitting to make a card about finishing the school year. As some of you might know I’m a first grade teacher, so I had to have some books on the card as well. I used some amazing products from Mama Elephant to create a super sweet and happy scene. I’ll take you through the steps.
First I cut a panel of white cardstock with the Cloud
Nine dies. I also cut the hooray sentiment from Hooray
Wishes out of that same white cardstock twice and glued them together. Then
I used Spun
Sugar Distress Oxide ink and Kitsch
flamingo to create a sweet pink wall with the Brick
Stencil from Lawn Fawn. While that was drying I used Jet
Black ink to stamp the images on some copic friendly paper and used the
matching dies to cut them out. The images and sentiments I used are from Hooray
Wishes, Book
Worm and Comic
Sayings.
I colored my images with the following Copic Sketch Markers:
R20, R22, RV04, RV10, RV13, RV21, YG01, YG06, YG09, Y13, Y15, Y17, Y21, Y23,
Y26, BG0000, BG11, BG23, BG34, B00, B01, B04, B63, B66, BV0000, BV000, BV02, 0,
W4, W6, W8, W10, T2, T4, T6, T8, N3, N5, N7, E000, E00, E11, E21, E23, E25,
E27, E29, E53, E55, E57, E59.
To create a longer line of books I attached two images together. I cut the white edge off one of the books, glued it on top of the other images and with a black gel pen I continued the line from the yellow book onto the mint book.
I adhered the sentiment, the books and graduation hats with liquid
glue onto the pink panel. The kids were adhered with thin
foam squares on the top and glue
dots on the bottom, as you can see in the picture above. That just gave it
a little more lift and interest.
With my black
glaze pen I added a shiny finish to the eyes. For the closed eyes I just
used a regular black
gel pen.
Once all of the images were attached I stamped the sentiment
‘You did it’ from Comic
Sayings with some Picked
Raspberry ink. To make sure I got it in the right spot and with the right
amount of ink I used a stamping platform.
Then all that was left to do was adhere the panel to a card
base and the card was all done.
That’s it for me today. Have a wonderful week!
Hugs,
Leontine
