Hello there and welcome to the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog! It's Janette Kausen here and it's been a minute since I've guested with BRI. I am excited to be back and to share today's project with you! As soon as I saw the Citrus Vine stamp set from The Stamp Market I knew it was going straight in my cart. We are citrus farmers so this set just had to be mine!
Next, set up The Stamp Market's Citrus Vine orange in a Mini MISTI Precision Stamp Tool in order to stamp it accurately three times. First, ink stamp completely solid in Dried Marigold Distress Ink. Then, tilt Carved Pumpkin Distress ink at about a 45° angle to ink up just the outer 1/2" or so of the image all the way around. Finally, repeat with Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink on just the outermost edge of the image. The rock and roll technique provides depth and dimension giving the orange a spherical impression.
This method can also be done with an acrylic block, stamp and ink pad by tilting the stamp instead of the ink. Though, no need to stamp three times. Ink the lightest all over, then rock and roll a wide band all the way around with the medium hue and the darkest just around the edges. Stamp all at once. Try both to see what works best for you!
Stamp leaves in Peeled Paint and Twisted Citron Distress Inks. Die cut all images, and if you are not a fan of the white border die cutting can leave, then you'll love the set! The Citrus Vine coordinating dies leave only a very fine border around the images.
Die cut three black Great Big Hi's also by The Stamp Market, and adhere stacked together. Assemble card by tucking and layering with liquid glue. Adhere finished panel to card base, handwrite a note, and pop it in the mail. Someone's day is about to be brighter!
