Music is a great passion of mine, I love to listen to it and I enjoy many varied forms.  When I was younger I did not have a lot of exposure to it though, only what my parents listen to as we did not have all these fancy devices that my kids have today. I remember having a variety show of sorts in Grade One and we did a cover of this song which was my favourite at the time.   What was your favourite music growing up?

If this had come up just a few weeks ago it would have been hard, I am a huge animated movie fan so there are so, so many that I love but that was for we finally got out to see Moana.  We had not seen it due to scheduling with the kids and I was super excited that it was still playing in the theaters. Moana is really my kind of girl, she sets off on an adventure to save her home and her family.  She is brave and loving and my gosh..that hair!  It is a great, great movie. I cannot stop singing the songs from this movie.  I mean, the movie is fantastic and we loved it and have already added it to our movie collection but the music.  So much more.  I am how my daughter was a few years ag...

My favourite SciFi book is a super easy one.  I read this book ages ago and though it is long overdue for a reread it stands out in my mind as being a favourite.  I far prefer older Scifi to newer stuff, there is something slightly chilling about it all.   The gigantic comet had slammed into Earth, forging earthquakes a thousand times too powerful to measure on the Richter scale, tidal waves thousands of feet high. I am not an overly romantic person so I am sure that there is tons of stuff that Mike does that other girls would swoon over and I'm like meh whatever.  I know...I have been wracking my brain for a moment for this post and most of the things I came up with I personally did not find all the romantic. This is another hard one for me.  I love books.  Reading takes up a huge chunk of my free time.  My children were helping attempt to organize my bookshelves last week and they pointed out that I have multiple copies of some books.  This is because they have different covers and sometimes when you are reading a long running series you are so excited to read the book you buy whatever one they have but then have to go back and buy the one that matches the ones you actually own.  Or am I the only one who does that??? I am a huge fan of simple book covers, and my favourite book covers was actually for a book series that I loathed.  Which is hard to say because I read so few books that I dislike...

This is a tough one for me, I have many, many great childhood memories.  I grew up in a small town in Nova Scotia surrounded by relatives and close family friends and I got to roam free in a way that kids do not get to today.  Picking a single favourite memory is difficult. One I think stands out for me above all others though, mostly because it is one of the few clear memories I have of the golden time before my sister was born when I was an only child.  (I think I was 3 or 4) We had a cabin out in the woods and we used to go there on weekends as people do but on the way in next to the road there was a giant anthill (well at least giant to the very small child that I was) and I was quite young and extre...

My favourite holiday is Halloween.  I love dressing up and seeing the kids so excited to go out and interact with the community.  I love making up little packages to give out. I wear two costumes at least every year.  One for work and one to take the kids out trick or treating. I also love to see the house that really go all out decorating for Halloween.

If I could switch bodies with anybody for a day it would be my son, he gets bullied a lot at school and is too afraid to stand up for himself. I would like to stand up to his bullies just once. No violence just a little pointing out that how they behave is not cool. Also, I would tell the teacher what's going on because if he did that I wouldn't have to spend so much time on the phone explaining why he doesn't do that.

When my blindfold was taken off I would be seated in a plush window seat surrounded by super soft, fluffy pillows.  I would have a gorgeous view of the ocean and my laptop so that I could write. Okay, so this is actually the topic from the beginning of the month but I am like always behind and I like it so I am posting it now. I think that touch is probably the most important sense to me.  With all the sewing and crocheting and other crafting that I do I always have my hands on some sort of fabric or yarn or something and that tactile sensation is very important to me.  Not to mention all the typing and writing I do.

This is a photo of me and my BFF, aren't we adorable?  Like puppies right?  Anyway...back to quirks that I adore, the dictionary defines a quirk as a peculiar behavioral habit.  I can't say that she has any quirks so to speak but I adore her most of the time just the same. My biggest achievement this year is deciding to do a 5k run, which was totally insane. I looked over some of the 5k training apps and decided that I liked  Zombies, Run! 5k .  I figured the most likely cause of me running in real life is going to be a Zombie apocalypse so why not train that way? All joking aside, I really do love this app, the workouts start off nice and easy and it works with the music on my phone.  It even shows me which songs increase my productivity and which ones decrease it when I log in online. ( this is actually from the beginning of the month, I am playing catch up) One thing I have never tried but I would really like to is cross stitch (lame I know) but it's something I have always wanted to have a go at.  Ace even bought me some easy kits for Christmas last year but I just haven't been able to make the time. The Express Yourself Weekly Meme is hosted  Bouquet Of Books  and  Entertaining Interests .  This week's topic is: Name a secondary character who you think deserves their own series/stand alone. There are so many secondary characters that I would like to see get their day in the sun that this was a hard choice but one of my very favourites is Chase from Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth books. The tough, always prepared boundary warden is one of my favourite characters (after the Mord Sith) and I would love to see more of him and his family.  Even just a little one off story like Debt of Bones was for Zedd would be fantastic.
