Fan Expo last year marked an exciting time for me, it was Cat's first time experiencing a con.  I didn't get to take Ace to his first con so I was very excited about this.  Sadly I spent most of the day brutally sick, so most of what she experienced was playing with her shield to amuse herself while Mommy tried not to let her know how bad she was really feeling. We started off the day having at look at the Star Wars stuff, Cat was all entranced with R2D2 when this guy here came up and tapped her on the shoulder.  Want to see a little kid freak right the hell out?  Do something like that.  I was carrying her FOREVER before she calmed down. This was my big excitement for the day, sadly when you only go with a four year old there is no one to take pictures of you.  I suppose you could always ask someone, but I was not at that point yet last year.  Now I wouldn't have so much of a problem with it. As said I did make it out to Hamilton for  Hammer Town Comic Con  on October 5.  In the end it was a bit iffy if I was going to get out there or not as Ace bailed on me last minute but the friend I was originally supposed to go with decided they could make it after all and off we went.  Unlike Fan Expo I was feeling in good health and with a grown up so I did get some good shots of my Fluttershy cosplay as promised.  For a first year con Hamilton was pretty fantastic, a great crowd, a lot of excellent cosplayers and some pretty cool stuff to see.  We went to a panel on Canadian comics and learned a lot of really interesting stuff.   I will say one thing though...walking around Hamilton dressed like a pony, not as easy as doing it in Toronto. You kind of feel like everyone is staring at you.  And I heard a lady tell her daughter I was a cat...so then of course I felt self conscious about my ears for the rest of the day.  ...
