My Creatively Random Life

It has been a while since I have been here on the blog but I decided that since I was home and unable to do much else I would throw down for the A to Z Challenge this year.  I know that I have tried specific themes in the past, usually reading related but themes very much seem to hold me back. This year my theme is random, literally, I went to randomwordgenerator.com and put in the letters and picked the first word that came up.  It has made for an interesting list, one that has come up with a lot of topics for posts that will hopefully inspire myself writing them and anyone reading them this year. I know that we are all going through varying degrees of tough times right now but we need to find the bright spots when and where we can. I look forward to reading everyone's blogs in April. Melissa

A few years ago I had great success with making a to do list in the months leading up to the end of the year and checking things off.  It kept me accountable to at least do some of the things that I needed to get done. In the spirit of that I am making a list of all the things I need to get done and want to get done in the next little while and every month we will up date and see how far we are getting along. 1) Set up my Ko-fi page. 2) Make new pony ears. 3) Swap out the ribbon on my top hat for pink. 4) Paint my boxing gloves and figure out how to seal. 5) Take my measurements and log for June. 6) Find a tiny alligator plushie. 7) Log the comics I lave read recently onto Goodreads. 8) Find my Ipad. 9) Find a purse that I want to carry. 10) Finish the last module of this event planning section and write exam. 11) Start my new sewing course. 12) Update my CPR and first aide. 13) Find and paint shoes for Cat's 5K costume. 14) Buy Cat black shorts for he...

My neglected blog readers, I want to say that I have been doing fun and exciting stuff instead of blogging but truth be told I have just been working.  I have lots of fun and exciting stuff going on this summer though and I am hoping to blog about lots of it.  A couple new cosplays in the works, some new shows we are watching, in training for a 5k (in costume!). I look forward to blogging at least once a week over the next little while.

Currently.... It's been a while since I have posted one of these for you guys.  I miss it, updating you on all the random things that I have going on.  I am hoping to have the time to get it up and going again. As well as the rest of my blog since I have been neglecting it just a wee bit. Loving... It's almost fall again, the weather is cooling down, I can wear boots everyday and jackets and hoodies.  This is my best time of year.  I was given both new boots and a new hoodie recently so I will be wearing the heck out of both. Reading... Right now I am reading The Zombie Survival Guide: Complete Protection From the Living Dead by Max Brooks and listening to Chainfire by Terry Goodkind on Audible. Watching... Well, isn't it nice when life just makes you want to throw in the towel? I have been super overwhelmed with things, work, migraines, kids etc.  I have started to tame the lion and so back to blogging I have come.  And with lots of new things to blog about.  I will be taking a super big plunge starting Friday and every Friday and really blogging about my fitness journey.  It's a scary step for me but I need the motivation. I am also going to be getting back to posting my regular book reviews and other random things. Also more crafts again, Cat has been taking sewing classes and she wants to start making basic stuff at home to work towards making her own cosplay stuff. I look forward to chatting with you all more.  :)

Wow, it feels like it has been a while.  Things got super hectic for me and I just have not felt the urge to put fingers to keyboard and write for a while.  A bit of the oh my gosh winter is starting blues I suppose.  I am back though and starting a new journey that I would like to embark on with my blogging world in tow. My good friend convinced me that we NEEDED to join Weight Watchers together last week.  It was on sale and she had a go results with them before and though I had an easy time by myself after Cat I am struggling now after that medication weight gain I had last year and really could use the help. So I will be back to blogging at least sporadically in December with all the fantastic things I am making to stop myself from snacking ( I have started a sweater) and the fun recipes I have cobbled together to feed my kids that are still healthy and low points for me. I stumbled across this one day in my wanderings on the blogosphere over on  Nerdy Birdie  and I knew I absolutely wanted to participate but as I was in the middle of the A to Z Challenge at the time I knew that I did not have the time, or the energy to do it.  However it's May now. So, like most things that I want to do I am going to bend the  rules  just a touch and use Mondays as my days to be catching up on the 100 days posts.  I think it will be fun and interesting, some of the topics are really fantastic. This isn't a blog hop in the strictest sense of the word so there's no link list to check out other posts but there is a google community which can be found  here .

I found this tag on  Geek Gets Glam  for a blogger confession and I thought I would swipe it and answer the questions even though I didn't get tagged.  Because I'm a rebel like that as you all know. When did you start your blog? My first blog post was Wednesday, January 18, 2012.  It feels like so long ago now. Have you had any past online presence before (other blog, YouTube)? No, this is my very first attempt at making myself known in the internet world. Why did you start a blog? As I am sure you know I did not complete the A to Z Challenge on time this year, not even close.  That being said though I am still planning to finish eventually.  Just a little slow.  My computer is in the process of dying, it works for a bit and then it just randomly shuts down and work restart for hours.  Super fun. Today's post will be nothing more than a rant thanks to the lack of sleep due to the stupid time change.  I am not even sure how I managed to make it in to work today fully dressed and looking like a grown up.  I am just thankful it is March Break and the kids are away for the week or I would probably be hiding under my bed right about now.
