100 Days of Being Geek Chic And Healthy: Day 3

Day 3: If there is a book or movie that inspires your life what would it be and why? How do you choose just one?  There have been so many over the years that have inspired my life. (yup, I have life experience) Lame I know but I was the right age when this movie came out for it to inspire me to be like, a better person. Plus, my gosh!  The fashion in this movie.  I am pretty sure that my entire sense of style for most of my life was based on this movie.  Or at least ideas from it.  Among other things, I went through a huge Zena, Warrior Princess phase as well. Celebrate The Small Things: February 20, 2015

Image
Celebrate the Small Things is hosted by  Lexa Cain  along with wonderful co- hosts  Writing Off The Edge  and  The Cyborg Mom . This week I am celebrating getting to spend some time working on my Poison Ivy Cosplay for Toronto Comicon next month.  Also, my sister is helping me do a make up test this weekend so that's fun. Cat got an excellent report card, her attitude at school has improved by leaps and bounds I am so proud of her. What are you celebrating this week?

Movie Night With The Monkeys

Image
On Friday, as is our custom whenever they stay with me instead of going to Dad's, we had movie night.  Now this has evolved greatly since we got Netflix in the house.  It used to be Cat and Ace would each pick a movie and then we would take turns with which one would get to watch their movie first.  If the movie ran long then we would watch the other ones choice the following evening.  A fair system if you ask me.  Now they have so many choices they decided to change they system.  Sometimes it works, sometimes (as in the case of this Friday) not so much.  The new system is some sort of crazy child democracy.  They scroll through their choices each saying what they want until they find something they both agree on.  (5 hours of classic Doctor Who anyone?) It works great until one finds something they really want to watch (Cat and Aliens in The Attic on Friday) and the other one does not want to watch it.  So world war three ...
