Goals Going Into My Last Year In My 30's

Next week, next Wednesday to be exact, I turn 39.  Which I feel a lot of pressure for as it will be the last year I have before I turn 40 and with everything that is going on in the world right now I realize how much more that there is that I want to get done before I turn 40. My health has been causing me problems this year and my doctor has recommended that I lose a little weight to help.  This is really high on my list for the coming year as I do not want to go into my 40's having preventable health issues.  Also on my list, as always is continued learning, as the current situation in the world had sharply shown me this year you never know what is going to happen and I want to make sure that I have something to fall back on should the worst happen. Being home all day, everyday has help me see how much time I really do have that is free and I waste doing things that bring me little to no pleasure.  I have spent some time today working on my novel that I start...

Things to do Before 2020

A few years ago I had great success with making a to do list in the months leading up to the end of the year and checking things off.  It kept me accountable to at least do some of the things that I needed to get done. In the spirit of that I am making a list of all the things I need to get done and want to get done in the next little while and every month we will up date and see how far we are getting along. 1) Set up my Ko-fi page. 2) Make new pony ears. 3) Swap out the ribbon on my top hat for pink. 4) Paint my boxing gloves and figure out how to seal. 5) Take my measurements and log for June. 6) Find a tiny alligator plushie. 7) Log the comics I lave read recently onto Goodreads. 8) Find my Ipad. 9) Find a purse that I want to carry. 10) Finish the last module of this event planning section and write exam. 11) Start my new sewing course. 12) Update my CPR and first aide. 13) Find and paint shoes for Cat's 5K costume. 14) Buy Cat black shorts for he...

Cosplay Plans: She-Hulk

Image
I have never before felt the urge to cosplay a super hero, usually I stick to easy to cosplay with out much criticism characters.  But I am on a huge kick to get back in shape and something about She-hulk calls to me so I thought that she would be a great goal for getting into shape.  Going through pictures on the internet I have found quite a few different costumes that I have varying degrees of fondness for.  There will be lots of research till I find something that suits my comfort level for wearing to a convention I am sure. The bigger part of these plans though is to get into a cosplaying She-Hulk kind of shape.  I know that a year is no where near enough time to go from my current shape to body builder shape.  However, I think that with a lot of hard work and dedication I can get into decent enough shape to feel comfortable with it. There will be periodic updates here on the blog but if you want to hear all of the nitty gritty follow @...

31 Goals For January

At the end of last year I came up with 40 goals for myself for the last 40 days of 2017.  I did not finish all 40 goals but it did motivate me to get a lot of stuff done and I had a lot of fun doing it.  I was going to do a list of things that I wanted to do for the whole year this year but I thought as things are ever evolving that it would be better to do one new thing for every day of the month starting in January and just pull over from one month to the next the few extra things that did not get done. Including the things from last year's list that I did not finish. New for January: 1) Get diath piercing. 2) Clean up my book shelves. 3) Put pictures into photo albums. 4) Designing daily planner printable since I can't find one I like. 5) Finish the one section of my fitness course. 6) Finish one section of my update course. 7) Finish one section of my event planing course. 8) Earn one CE credit. 9) Start a book club. 10) Read 5 books towards my Goodr...

What's Up Wednesday

Image
What's Up Wednesday is a blog hop created by  Jamie Morrow  and  Erin Funk  to help writers connect.  I need a little encouragement in the area of writing these days so I felt motivated to join in and find some new friends.  The headings for the WUW posts are: WHAT I'M READING WHAT I'M WRITING (+ WRITING GOAL) WHAT WORKS FOR ME WHAT ELSE IS NEW WHAT I'M READING I am currently reading the delicious Mr. Sandman by Lyle Howard which I am enjoying very much.  I am also reading Writing Fight Scenes by Rayne Hall in the hopes of getting my current writing project unstuck. WHAT I'M WRITING (+ WRITING GOAL) I got in a whole 200 words on my WIP over the last week, which is more than I have in the last month so I think that's progress.   My goal for this week is to continue that progress and maybe add some more words if I can. WHAT WORKS FOR ME Clearly coming on here and blogging about how I was going to put some t...

Express Yourself: January 5 to 9, 2015

Image
The Express Yourself Weekly Meme is hosted  Bouquet Of Books  and  Entertaining Interests .  This week's topic is: do you have a New Year's Resolution, if so, would you like to share? Usually at the beginning of the year I do a whole post about this stuff but I haven't had the time yet because the kids got sick one after the other.  (yikes!)  So everything has been topsy-turvy.  I do have more of a system of small changes/goals going this year then resolutions though. I am keeping it very small as I have been having some health issues and I am worried that trying to make drastic changes will just leave me frustrated. So my "resolutions" are: -drink more water -log ALL the books I read -declutter a little every day -keep on top of my letter writing -try new things I think 2015 is going to be a fantastic year.  What are your resolutions for this year? This is a blog hop, you can join in below:

New Years Resolutions

So my whole plan of having goals  instead of resolutions...big flop.  I achieved  maybe three of them.  Okay, that's not really a very good count so let's have a tally, out of twelve goals that I had at the beginning of 2013 here at the beginning of 2014 I achieved six.  Hey, that's actually not that bad. In review for you here are the ones I did achieve: 1) Finish the Doctor Who scarf - I did and it is well loved by it's new owner, maybe I shall make myself one one day. 5) Start working on my novel - I did and I started working on one I like more and got further on during NaNoWrMo. 6) Work on my self esteem - I took up Cosplaying 9) Spending more time playing with my kids - in so many ways 10) Wear my fancy shoes more - check 12) Work on being happy - see above The things I want to work on in 2014 are still thing things I didn't quite achieve in 2013 only with a little more focus on the less is more side of life.  The older I get the more I...

A Belated Happy New Year

Image
Despite a wonderful New Year's Eve spent ringing in 2013 with my closest friends I still managed to get my year off to a rocky start.  What can I say, I just have that kind of talent.  Like the bottle of champagne someone forgot in my freezer (seriously, what a mess) I just freeze up inside until I explode leaving a horrible mass of shards all over the place where people are bound to get hurt. Except the person who gets hurt the most is me.  I am starting to see that I am like the master at self sabotage.  Anyhow, enough with the happy.  I have decide screw resolutions I am going to have goals this year...and they shall be awesome.  I have big goals and little goals and I am also working through a goal setting system to learn to make smarter goals that are more orientated to where I want to be in the long run.  So there is a good chance that some of this list may change within the next thirty days.  Right now though these are my goals for 2013...
