The Gratitude Journal Project

For the first time since I have started blogging I did not do a big goals or resolutions post this year. Not because I don't have any, I do but because they are a little more broad spectrum this year and I thought that maybe they would need their own posts to come out when the time was right. One of my goals for 2017 is to show more gratitude for the things that I have, which is in turn part of a larger goal but we will get to that another time. I have tried to start a Gratitude Journal before but I got lost in trying to make it prefect rather than jumping right in and getting started which is a problem that I have a lot. Then I remembered that I have this wonderful blog, which is like an online journal. A place where I can just go and keep track of the things that I am grateful for and publish it or not. Today I am grateful for: -my job, I work with wonderful people. -my children. -sweaters -my mom -coffee Do you keep a gratitude journal?

All I Need To Know I Learned From A Snowman

Sometimes you come across some funny stuff on the internet that just needs to be shared. ** It's okay if you're a little bottom heavy. ** Hold your ground, even when the heat is on. ** Wearing white is always appropriate. ** Winter is the best of the four seasons. ** It takes a few extra rolls to make a good midsection. ** There's nothing better than a foul weather friend. ** We're all made up of mostly water. ** You know you've made it when they write a song about you. ** Accessorize! Accessorize! Accessorize! ** Avoid yellow snow. Don't get too much sun. ** It's embarrassing when you can't look down and see your feet. ** It's fun to hang out in your front yard. ** There's no stopping you once you're on a roll. ** It's not the size of the carrot, but the placement that counts.

100 Days of Being Geek Chic and Healthy: Day 5

Day 5: What do hope to learn from this project? The biggest thing I hope to learn from this project is being comfortable in my own skin. I am well into adulthood and it's only now that I find I am finding friends who accept me and the things I like the way they are. Also I want to work on the whole process of blogging through a challenge and answering questions about myself as that is not something I am very good at. I am way, way behind on this but moving really threw me off kilter. The time for catching up on my blogging is now. Check out the Google Community for more on 100 Days of Being Geek Chic and Healthy.

Learning Success Review and Giveaway

There is nothing that stresses me more than the fact that Ace is having trouble in school. He's such a bright kid and the frustration that he has with certain aspects of stuff he's expected to do at school is turning our lives into a nightmare. The Learning Success Program is a simple do-at home program that will show you how to find core problems and overcome them. Learning is made up of basic core skills. There are sixteen of them in all. Typical learning difficulties are small weaknesses in a combination of two or three of these skills. The Learning Success program offers a variety of activities building in complexity designed to help children improve their learning skills. So far the only improvement I have seen in Ace is his focus but that's a huge start because at least he is focusing. I look forward to seeing where the activities go over time. I received this product in exchange for an honest review. a Rafflecopter giveaway

Studying

Follow my blog with Bloglovin I have been taking two separate study at home courses over the past year or so in my 'spare time' and most of what I have learned is that my brain is not what it used to be. In college I barely had to study, (mind you then I had all sorts of time and very little stress) now it's hours and hours of study for things to feel like they are being retained. There's got to be a trick to it right? Some sort of thing that makes information stay in there despite the fact that I can only spare a few weeks to studying. Clearly my current method of reading, highlighting and going back and rereading and making notes is not doing it for me. Time to study up on study habits. Any tips?
