Birthdays, A to Z Challenge and Other Things

Image
Here we are at the end of March and I am not sure how we got here so fast.  It feels like this year so far has flown by and I don't know what I have done with my time at all in the last three months. Scary, scary. Tomorrow is a very important day, it is both the start of the A to Z Challenge and my 35th birthday.  I am probably more excited about the challenge this year than my birthday as I decided to read a book and review it for ever letter of the alphabet.  I am not quite done yet but well over half my posts are finished and scheduled which is the best position I have ever been in at this point in the challenge so I look forward to getting to relax and read lots of other blogs this year. My birthday I have mixed emotions about, I am not ready to turn 35, there are things I wanted to have done by now that I have not and I am really not okay with that.  There's been a whole lot of what am I doing with my life going on in the last few days.  The last year h...

Things Are Looking Up For April

Image
As another year passes me by and I look to add another number onto my age I am reflective of how lousy the last year has been in so many ways.  Yet, it has also brought me so much joy.  I have been sick for much of it, but that allows me more time to read. Mike and I had some really rough patches but we came out stronger on the other side and are now planning our dream wedding.  Seriously, it's going to be awesome. My arm has left me unable to write (or type) for long periods of time so I am exploring new and more awesome ways of doing things and being creative.  My knee injury left me unable to exercise properly for much of the last year...I have no upside for that one.  Sadly because I love food I am only now starting to lose the weight I put on.  Watch out for ice and love your knees people! Tomorrow marks the start of the  A to Z Challenge , I am prepared this year, I have a theme, scheduled posts and everything.  Nothing left to do but ...

Cat is Five

Image
I can't believe that my little tiny baby is five.  It seems like just yesterday she was born, a tiny little scream bundle of hair.  Now she growing up faster than I can handle, now it's piercing her ears and school yard squabbles, I don't want to contemplate what will come next. Cat came almost a week late and she has been determined to make her own path ever since.  You know when your parents tell you as a teenager just you wait until you have kids?  Cat is that child for me, she inherited her mother's stubbornness, temper and mischievous spirit.  Probably a few other things that haven't come out yet too. She looks like such a little mischief maker in this picture, it's hard for me to believe she was ever this small now.  She still gets that look though. This is her first birthday picture, done by my beautiful friend Melanie at  MMP Photography .  (seriously if you are in the GTA and have kids or are expecting kids go check her o...

In The Mail: Birthday Surprise

Image
Like most people I love to be spoiled on my birthday but this year I got the crazy idea to go away so I really didn't get very much of that.  So you can imagine my surprise when I got this super awesome package in the mail from my pen pal Anna.  (I shouldn't have been surprised, she is rather awesome) Check out that card, how awesome is that card? Turquoise butterfly wrapping paper...how full of happy is that? Clearly she gets me. And chocolate that smells SO GOOD!  I am saving it for Friday night and my Diablo 3 marathon. See, Fluttershy fits right in. Thanks for the package full of birthday happiness Anna!
