Just a Couple of Cards

Happy Saturday, peeps! Oh, and Happy May Day!!  In between watching my birds and puttering around the house, I was able to make a couple of cards for a few challenges yesterday!  The first card uses the FMS sketch challenge along with the colors from Just Add Ink

I used the upcoming Hand Penned Petals set along with a sentiment from Lots of Heart:

The florals were stamped in Memento Black, then filled in with So Saffron and Garden Green:

I added some "sprinkles" from Sweet Ice Cream and a couple little In Color Jewels for sparkle!

The second one is for the Fusion challenge and the Krafty Chicks challenge, which is Anything Goes:

I don't make Mother's Day cards as a rule, as both our moms have passed away, but I loved the idea of using a mother and baby image on just a simple "hello" card, especially this sweet little elephant pair from Wildly Happy, which is retiring soon:

I stamped them in Stazon Black ink and watercolored them with Smoky Slate and Blushing Bride, then created a tag, matted in Blushing Bride:

I stamped a sentiment from Here's a Card, creating a couple of banners, and as an afterthought, made a bow with the Pierced Blooms die and added another In Color jewel! The background is some retired Gingham, also in Smoky Slate. I love this combo of gray and pink!

At Jameson's birthday party, the craft activity was painting flower pots!  We have NO lefties in our family, these boys must have gotten their left-handedness from their momma's side of the family, LOL!

Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

So Tiny So Small

Happy Saturday, everyone!  I have a sweet baby card to share with you today!  Young friends of ours just adopted a little boy, and I made this card to welcome him to their family!

The Rainbow Card Challenge this month is "Totally Tiffany", which is a color I just love!

I found some papers in a scrapbook pad I was given, and I thought they would be pretty with this little rocking horse image from Little Cuties.  It's hard to see but the clouds are sparkly!  So here we go:

I was stamped in Smoky Slate and colored with Pool Party and Smoky Slate Blends; I added a little gingham paper-pieced saddle just for fun, as well as some stars in the background to coordinate with the starry, glittery background!  I also added a scallop of Glimmer paper too, just for fun!  The sentiment from Wildly Happy was stamped on a diecut from the new Ornate Layers dies...what an awesome set!

The inside was stamped with some Paper Pumpkin stars and a sentiment from God's Blessings:

This card is larger than the standard A4 size to accommodate the cute papers as well as that cute image! I sure had fun making this and I wish them all the blessings in the world!!  Thanks for popping in today!

Dana and her coworker unknowingly wore the same colors today---and the residents at the nursing home where they work made them matching masks!

Here in PA, our governor has now "recommended" wearing masks anywhere outside...and we are now not allowed to drive to Delaware unless we are prepared to quarantine ourselves there for 14 days!!  Delaware is only a hop, skip and a jump from us and we would regularly go there to shop, as they have no sales tax.  I hope this is all over very soon!  Enjoy your day (or at least try to) and be blessed!

SSC226 and FF0054 Easter Bunnies

Happy Monday, peeps!  I have stamp clubs meeting today, so I'll make this quick!  I wanted to make one more card highlighting the pretty So Very Vellum, and since Festive Friday had a "First Day of Spring" challenge board, I jumped on it:

I chose flowers, green, pastel colors and cute animals!  I used the green vellum on a Soft Sea Foam base, some pink plaid paper and a little pink flower from the Pleased as Punch DSP set, and the cute little bunnies from Wildly Happy:

I stamped the bunnies in Smoky Slate, gave them a little shading with some Blends, and stamped an Easter sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings below.  I diecut both elements with some stitched dies (oooh...stitching is on the Inspo board too!) and "tied" it all together with a retired Pretty in Pink ribbon:

I also used the sketch from Sunday Stamps:

Easy peasy...and another Easter card for my stash!  Thanks for popping in today---it is definitely feeling like spring here in PA....we didn't really have much of a winter!  Be sure to come back tomorrow for a new Retro Rubber challenge!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP472 New Beginnings

Happy Sunday, peeps!  The Paper Players are back for 2020, and here's our first theme challenge of the year:

As I said in a previous post, two church families had babies born right around Christmas, so a baby card for one of the grandparents was perfect for the challenge!  I used Wildly Happy again; this time, I used the mama and baby elephants:

This pattern from the Mosaic Mood DSP seemed "jungle-ish", which was a good background for my watercolored pachyderms:

My sentiment, from Itty Bitty Greetings, was stamped in Mossy Meadow, then stamped again in Versamark and heat-embossed in clear embossing powder; I did that by using my Stamparatus; once I stamped in MM, I cleaned the stamp and re-stamped with Versamark. Then I sprinkled clear embossing powder on top and heated it up!  For fun, I diecut it with the new Stitched So Sweetly die:

I put everything on a Mossy Meadow card, and on a white mat on the inside, stamped these sentiments from Wildly Happy and Here's a Card:

Be sure to pop on over to the Paper Players blog so you can see what the DT created!  PLUS, we have three new guest designers and I know you'll want to see who they are and give them some support as well!  Meanwhile, we hope you'll play along too....hope to see you in the gallery!  Thanks for stopping by today!

The pups got a new bed for Christmas:

It seems that Cassidy likes it too!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

JAI487 Wildy Happy Baby Cards

Happy Saturday, peeps!  Hope you had a wonderful holiday....it was a great one in the Pugliese household!  I managed to get my turkey dinner cooked, made soup from the remainders, and our leftovers are almost gone!  I still have a ton of cookies though....I am going to have to do some extra walking to get off those calories, LOL!  Over the holidays, two families in our church celebrated the birth of two little boys--one on the 24th and one on the 26th!!  Special little Christmas presents!  So I used the sketch from Just Add Ink to make two cards:
Wildly Happy is a perfect set for baby cards...little baby animals and their mamas, plus some lovely sentiments!  I chose the bunnies, stamped in Seaside Spray, and used some matching DSP for the center panels:

The elements on both cards are the same, although I did add dimensionals to the one on the right, and I did a little shading on the ground on the one on the left!  I used a Stitched Shapes die to cut each element out:

The bottom sentiment was diecut with a die from Stitched Labels--such a sweet design too!

Everything went on a Whisper White thick cardstock base that was embossed with the Basketweave embossing folder!  Thanks for popping in today!

I was so busy on Christmas day that I didn't get too many pictures!  I did take a photo of the gorgeous wreath that Dana made for my kitchen:

I have buffalo check curtains, so it matches perfectly!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

AYSI207 Sweetest Baby

Happy Friday, everyone!  As You See It has a nice sketch today, and I whipped together a real fast card with it!  Here you go:

No photo description available.

This is like my favorite sketch turned upside down!  I recently got Wildly Happy, but hadn't inked it up yet, so I thought it would fun to use it to make a baby boy card.  I don't like to put a lot of frills and embellishments on boy cards, so it worked out perfectly!  I matched up some retired and new DSPs and went to work:

I stamped the bunnies in Balmy Blue, diecut them with a Stitched Shapes circle, then added a little shading with a Smoky Slate blend as well as a little punched heart:

I stamped the sentiment in Gray Granite, and added a diecut border to delineate between the two DSPs:

and stamped a sentiment on the inside as well:

So sweet!  I hope you'll play along with us and use our fabulous sketch!  I am sure I'll be using this one a lot!!  Thanks for popping in today!

So one part of the Turkey Hill Experience is to create your own ice cream flavor!  You're taken into a big, cold room (so your ice cream doesn't melt), given a huge bowl of either vanilla or chocolate ice cream, and then you have several ways to flavor and embellish it....there are about 15 different extracts (like lemon, coffee, mint, raspberry, etc), then add-ins like nuts, chocolate chips, graham crackers, and lots of others, and then finally, the "varigate", which could be caramel, butterscotch, fudge, strawberry....lots of syrupy things to add additional flavor!  It was mind-boggling as well as taste boggling!

Here you can see all the extracts lined up, the varigates behind them, and on the far wall, all the goodies to add to the mix!  YUM!

Lee made his lemon with mint chocolate chips (he didn't finish it, LOL!), Cassidy chose chocolate with coffee extract and chocolate sprinkles (no wonder she was bouncing off the walls!), and John chose maple with walnuts and peanut butter!  Mine was orange with craisins and strawberry puree!  I ate the entire thing and had a bit of a tummy-ache afterwards....it was a BIG dish, LOL!

And this about says it all:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
