52CCT23-25 Retro Christmas Ornaments

Happy 4th of July, everyone!  I have a decidedly un-patriotic-hued card today for you, it's a Christmas card featuring retro Christmas ornaments (at least they look retro to me) in retro colors!  And I used the sketch from 52 Christmas Card Throwdown:

And here we go:

I embossed my Basic White card base with a Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder, then stamped and diecut my ornaments using the retired Spruced Up Bundle from last year.  The large ornament was cut from Real Red glimmer paper; the smaller ornaments were stamped in Parakeet Party; all the ornament toppers were cut from Silver foil.  I added a Pink Pirouette snowflake, embellished with an Iridescent gem, and finally the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp was stamped in Pretty in Pink and diecut as well:

Truthfully, this card too way longer than it should have; for some reason, the idea in my head just wouldn't translate to the card!  But I put too much effort into it to toss it, so I persevered! I appreciate your visit today---enjoy your day and be blessed and have a safe 4th of July!

And I did want to share the one patriotic card that I got from my sweet friend Wendy....you can see all her wonderful creations on her blog HERE.  I love the dies she used, such a fun way to make a card that packs a punch!  Thanks, Wendy!

FMS552 Little Trees Christmas

Happy Thursday, peeps!  Scooting in here quickly with a little Christmas card using the FMS sketch and some new hostess papers from the mini catalog called Celebrate Everything!  First, the sketch:

And here we go:

The tree DSP is actually just black and white; I colored in the trees with a Granny Apple Green blend and mounted it on a Basic Black scalloped panel diecut with the Stitched So Sweetly die.  The green panel is the other side of the black and white paper and I did the same thing with Granny Apple Green cardstock for the mat:

The sentiment is from Spruced Up, stamped and diecut with the Stylish Shapes dies and embellished with some retired Pretty Peacock gems.  I did the same treatment on the inside sentiment:

Everything went on a Granny Apple Green card base topped with a white panel diecut with the Dots & Spots die!  So fun!

I've changed the location of my light box and I am not quite happy with it; the natural lighting in my room is not quite the same as my other room!  But Cassidy will be staying with us for a few days, and I am sure having a light box in her bedroom would be rather an inconvenience, LOL!  Anyway, happy that you popped in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

While on vacation, we caught up with a gal I had shared an apartment with back in the 70s!!  They moved to the Lewes area and through the miracle of Facebook, we reconnected!  We had a fun dinner and caught up--not all 40 years but it was a start:

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

FMS547 Holiday Happiness

Happy Monday, everyone!  Hope you had a restful weekend!  I really loved the FMS sketch for this week, yet when I created my card, I wasn't as happy with is as I had hoped....but I did spend some time on it, so I thought I would share it anyway!  Here's the sketch:

And here's my card, using the new Spruced Up bundle along with some Celebrate Everything DSP:

The images are fun and bold and when they diecut, they diecut an outline as well, which I didn't use on this particular card.  I stamped the tree in Granny Apple Green and gave it a Crushed Curry star, candy cane, and a little gift.  The three panels were mounted on a mat of Poppy Parade and it all went on a plain Basic White card base.  I love the sentiment too!

as it continues on the inside:

Isn't that sweet?  Love it!  Thanks for visiting today!

Cassidy got to hold her little cousin over the weekend....check out that grin!

Even Great-uncle Wayne got in on the action!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!
